Very helpful video, but I found an easier way to pull the stem out, since my hands/fingers were not strong enough. You need a regular pair of pliers (opened to wider setting) and a pair of vice grip pliers. Lay the deflated pad on the floor, lay the vice grips flat on deflated pad (putting a cloth between vice grips and vinyl pad to protect vinyl), tighten the vice grips just enough so they are just barely gripping bottom of the valve stem. And I then knelt on the flat handle of vice grips so it would not move. Then use your pliers (pulling vertically) to PULL the valve stem out. Kneeling on the flattened/horizontal vice grips is so much easier than trying to hold the valve stem base with your fingers. I was pleasantly surprised that the stem then pulled out so easily. I applied a generous bead of "Rapid Fuse" (a great type of super glue) around the stem and pushed the stem easily back into place. Won't know until tomorrow if the glue sealed the leak or not. Here's hoping !

Good call on diagnosing the leak. I wonder if 1 or 2 wraps of plumber's teflon tape might stop the ,eak without lermanently fusing the valve stem?

Nice! I have 2 klymit pads. My Static V ultralight, which has the flat, inflate/deflate valves, does seem to have a slow leak. At first, I thought it was being caused by cold temperature. But last trip, I had to roll off and top it off 3 times. I will see if I can test both valves the same way. You and Mike are funny! Love watching you two.
