The Powerful Formula to Answer the Most Common Interview Questions (Story Toolbox) // In this video I arm you with the tools to answer the most common job interview questions with ease--and that is by making a Story Toolbox! I’ll walk through the most common interview questions and give you before and after examples of how to transform an answer to be highly impactful. This is especially good advice for behavioral interview questions, but to make the best impression, it should be applied to most of your responses.
Once you start forming you answers this way with these interview answer examples, you will impress hiring managers and recruiters alike!
This strategy is called the "story toolbox" and while it can be used for most questions, in this video we specifically mention:
What major challenges and problems did you face, how did you solve them?
    What is your greatest strength?
    What is your greatest weakness?
How do you handle stress and pressure?
What was the biggest accomplishment in this position?
Any behavioral interview question, such as, "Tell me about a time when..."

Same thing just happened to me :) I'm an engineer also. I felt kinda silly making a career portfolio because I didn't know how I'd work it into the interview in a natural way but when the time was right I opened it up and it kept the conversation going and their faces lit up. A picture says a thousand words!!

I find it incredibly useful to copy/paste the job description of a position before the interview into a Word doc. I then write an example for each of the requirements in which I have either done the task, shined in a situation, or how I would handle the situation. It's a form of the Story Toolbox and applied directly to the job I'm interviewing for. This way my brain will easily queue up these examples because I've put them at the top of my memory. It also helps when I don't have a specific skill in the requirements. For example, say the job requires the ability to write SQL Query Statements. I will prepare my answer to the question should it come up and won't have that deer in the headlights look. It gives me the ability to quickly learn what that is, at least, and my plan to learn that skill if that fits the situation.

I lost my job about a month ago and have been rejected from every job interview I've been to thus far. It's very defeating. It causes me to lose confidence going into other interviews. Especially, if I don't know what I'm doing wrong and how to correct it. I get stuck in a vicious cycle of blowing interview after interview. Watching your videos has really put into perspective why the questions are being asked and how to best answer them. I have an interview coming up in a few days and I am going to put the advice of your videos into practice so I have the confidence to nail this upcoming interview! I didn't get the job, however, while I knew it was a long shot, they told me the only reason I didn't get the job was a lack of experience. They told me they were blown away by my interview and even emailed my boss telling them how impressed they were. I watched alot of your videos and they are all so helpful! This video in particular helped me formulate great responses to behavior based questions in my recent interviews. I was so nervous but your videos really helped me. I just received a job offer from the company I interviewed with and they had amazing feedback for me. This is a lifechanging job opportunity for me and I can't thank you enough for your help!!

In 3 months time I got the first job I wanted and applied for using this method. I was able to take the interviewers questions and find the answer that would suit that question from my toolbox! I was surprised but when you’re practicing daily it gets ingrained in your mind.

I watched your informational interview before I had my first interview last week. It was so helpful where I had my pieces of papers all laid for me to use, had tips written down to help with what I wanted to share, I had examples coming out of how to show how i communicate well and how well i work under pressure and if under pressure how do i address it with my supervisor is what they asked me. I never felt more prepared despite feeling nervous. I never felt so ready and this is so helpful. I had my first interview on Wednesday last week and then they would follow me up so then about a week later they said i was a good fit for the position and going into my second interview today. I have watched your informational interview, story toolbox, how to answer behavioral interview questions videos, I never felt so prepared and more confident. i was able to be more confident in myself that i have never felt before. thank you for all this information and tips you share, it is truly fabulous and you nail it with the right stuff. I was able to ask the people who interviewing me some questions too like whats their favorite part about their job and what makes them passionate. If i had not discovered from a friend of mine, i dont think i would have passed my first round interview so thank you so much!!!
Update: didn’t get the job. But have no regrets for getting it or not getting it because I am more proud of the hard work I put into it.

Fortunately i already naturally do some of these things in my last phone interview the hiring engineer was excited and wanted to keep talking to me. He told me the in person interview with the hiring manager would be star format and told me one of the questions they would ask. I know he was hinting to be prepared for it. So I've been watching your videos and i know ill be prepared to hit it out of the park next week
