Fun Fact: The reason for all of the under the age of 12 disclaimers is due to scratch having a rule where you have to denote 'Scary' content or else your project will be removed off the site.

The reason the jump scares are off by default, and are even able to be turned off in the first place is that your game has a lower chance of being taken down if it's discovered by the scratch moderators.

Actually no, having any jumpscares in your project whatsoever is an immediate removal from the scratch team. They just haven't seen it yet. Even warnings or a toggle button doesn't matter. Scratch is like a daycare.

Back in roughly 2015, Scratch had full-on rips of some of the games. Like, there was a fully working version of FNAF 4 on Scratch at one point. The models had been confusingly broken down into sprites (that were broken up very weirdly, there had to be 100's of individual sprites in the thing), I'm not sure if anyone even remembers it.

As someone who frequented Scratch during the FNaF boom,
I can say that yes, FNaF content was basically shadowbanned by Scratch.
They made a public announcement after, supposedly, multiple angry parents had complained that games on Scratch were giving their kids nightmares.
I'm not entirely sure about the validity of the reasoning myself, but I do remember that's the main reason the Scratch staff gave when they made that infamous announcement on that fateful day.
Even my own little top-down one night FNaF recreation got hit by the hammer.
It didn't put a strike on my account or anything,
It just automatically "unshared" the project so people couldn't play it.

That's just because ST(Scratch team) think that scratch site is only f*king children. They put 10 minutes not commenting on my Scratch account, because I thought that sh!t won't be taken down, because of ! instead of i. I even though they would just take down comment, but no. I didn't even know, that children use it, I didn't know about Site before 13! I thought that Scratch is desktop app! WHO EVEN THOUGHT, THAT GIVING CHILDREN PRIORITY IS GOOD IDEA?!?!
Fu¢k Scratch site, we need remake of it, but for more adult audience, with deleting of remixes, normalising chat filter, dark mode like in Turbowarp, and block detection, so people can't just post pictures

    I gotta say,
I was pretty hyped when you cut to playing my game, (#60, 28:48 )
I actually made that game in 2 DAYS, so yeah hearing you make fun of it genuinely made my day
Pretty respectable that you not only looked at the instructions, but played the second part. Thank you for actually giving it a shot.
Love your content! I'm actually in the process of making not garbage fnaf games.
It is fun to make them, and I am very proud of the progress I have made.
I hope you make a video on actually good scratch fnaf games! There are a bunch, and they are hard to find, you just have to ask some scratchsmart devs, like Airbot (who is in the comments below).
As for my suggestions, "The Arctic" by ChuckParker and the 2020 versions of the "FNAE" series by endergamer7777, which has a new one coming out that everyone who has playtested it genuinely said it was perhaps the best fnaf fangame on scratch.

I'm going to be honest when I made Five Nights at Harold's, I didn't expect it to be so popular among people on scratch because it wasn't really a good or motivating tutorial to make. I was just doing it for fun. But when I released the game, everyone was remixing Harold. As of I'm writing this comment, there're almost 400 different Five Nights at Harold's clones out there and me and everyone in the community is feeling very uncanny about it and I don't judge them lol.

Hi, Scratch FNaF Dev here. Glad to see a video covering this kind of stuff. I'll be glad to give you a bit of information and insight to some things you might be wondering about.
    1. That UI you saw in Five Nights at Mario's 2 wasn't actually a part of the game. It's actually a bug that can occasionally happen when loading a project. A simple refresh should restore it to what it should be, unless it happened to you while developing the game and you saved the project while it was like that (which actually happened to another scratch fnaf dev i know)
    2. The trend of jumpscares being off by default is actually a way to get around Scratch, since fnaf fangames are in a sort of grey area in terms of what's allowed.
Thank you for making a video on Scratch FNaF Games, uhyeah. If you do end up making that other scratch fnaf fangame video, I'd be glad to show you some good ones.

For those scrolling through the comment section, I have a story to tell you.
So a couple months ago, me and a friend of mine were bored in class since we had no assignments to do. So we decided the best thing to do was to play Scratch FNaF fangames to pass the time. This led to us finding a masterpiece by the name of Forever in Minecraft. It was your standard Scratch FNaF Fan-game affair, mask mechanic, barely functional UI, and stolen ambience and jumpscare noises. But was recorded all in Minecraft. We were laughing at it for three straight minutes before he couldn't figure out how to deal with the pumpkin enemy and died to it. The ensuing jumpscare caused him to scream which led to the entire class turning to look at him and to me dying of sheer laughter. Anyway, Forever in Minecraft is peak.

Tons of these have stolen assets, are buggy and unplayable, but I think most of them had actual effort put in by some kid, even if that kid had no idea what they were doing. That's adorable. I want to see them go on and make much better games in the future.

I personally enjoy the design of the new Salvage Harold. The deep blue colors and the gradient truly makes for a strong design. I particularly really like the detail of the missing eyes as it adds to the effect of a withered animatronic. Salvage Harold is the most spooky of the designs, for sure. I think the mouth does it for me. The effect of the darkness around the mouth is great, and it makes it look like an endless pit that traps souls for eternity. None of the other designs truly live up to the standards set by new Salvage Harold. 11/10

Some time maybe a year ago, I tried to work on it more and I worked on it a lot, but ultimately didn’t continue working on it. Alright, I'm gonna out myself as probably the only person who uses scratch on a daily basis over the age of 9, but basically in game 023 where the slider wouldn't go up and down very easily, the reason it didn't work is because they used the "if touching mouse and mouse down, then go to mouse" setup. However, given that you can move the mouse faster than the game will update the sprite, there's a very good chance that your mouse will move off and slow you down.
The extra sad thing is that this can be fixed with literally one extra block of code.

Hey @uhyeah have you ever considered using a VOS (virtual operating system) for when you play the sketchier games? It will keep you from getting a virus because It runs a completely separate operating system at the start of your computer and never touches your regular operating system therefore your regular computer is never even opened but it just uses all the physical components of your computer to use a different operating system which you can play pirated hacked or games that might potentially give you a virus on and keep your home computer clean of viruses

im gonna go hide it in some previous scratch games now lol.
but yeah, i used to make scratch fnaf games a LONG time ago. i actually made all the graphics in roblox studio and put screenshots of that in scratch so i actually had a unique artstyle rather than just using scratch vectors like everyone else, even if it looked bad lol. the only one thats still on my account is Sparky's Family Diner, although i know i made some other ones before i even started using my account, but theyre probably lost to my dads old pc somewhere. there was one where the enemy was a nutcracker for some reason, and another one that was a fnaf 3 ripoff but with monster cat from fnac as the antagonist. it even had inbetween night minigames where you played as sparky. the whole game was pretty weird and i cant remember anything more about it.
i do still make scratch games, although its usually just little tech demos i made because i was bored, usually not anything that expansive.
also heres a list of games here that i remember playing
    1) five nights at scraps 3. this was a big motivation for me to start Blender
    2) five nights at mr hugs. im actually friends with the developer on discord, i really like his series, although the later ones are mid imo.
