    I got a pair of fly superlace x early this month. I didnt have time to break them in and the lining inside at the tip of my index and middle finger ripped off. I was disappointed a bit. Other than that, i didnt like the curved thumb, it was putting my thumb in a weird position and i was landing shots and hurting it. From the experience i had i would choose winnings any day before fly even at the higher price point. I have my winnings since 2016 and the only bad thing about them is the smell.

  • @RabelAracena

    I'm torn between these and the Sabas Bella Series. I need gloves that would match my white winnning headgear and white winning cup since decently priced winnings sparring gloves are harder to find at the moment. But I also want the Bella's. :/

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a good toss up, it really depends on what features you’re looking for. The Flys are definitely more protective balances glove, where the Bella’s are more of a punchers glove with the horse hair. The Bella’s are also a little more compact and broken in feeling, where the flys are a tad larger and a little less broken in but still feel great.

    Did not know these even existed, very interesting if the only difference really is just the outer shell.
    I wonder how durable their synthetic leather is compared to other high quality synthetic leather gloves such as by the Rival RS100 sparring series.
    Maybe I'll grab a pair of these and simply tape on a layer or 2 of leather-tape on the striking surface.... should result in the same as their leather models, right? ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, they just came out with these versions a few weeks ago and the synthetic leather looks identical to Winning "leather". I know that Winning has a long standing reputation as a great glove, but I've always wondered if their leather was genuine and not synthetic, these new Fly X gloves only strengthens that question because of how similar it is to genuine Winning gloves.

    • @danielhenry4365
      @danielhenry4365 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@csquaredboxing yea this an interesting comparison reveal... i know winning states that their headgear is synthetic leather.... whatever the case is; make sure the Winning police doesn't go after u for starting this leather legitimacy concern on their gloves lol. even if Winning gloves' leather has been synthetic all this time, i can't be surprised that finally another company is producing extremely similar leather/synth-leather ... Winning/Japan in general have always been ahead of time in many innovations.

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LOL, Winning police, that's funny! As far as the leather on Winning being genuine or not, it doesnt take away from the fact that the gloves are still great gloves that will continue to be a top choice for pro athletes. I think companies like Fly have just caught up to Winning, which was bound to happen; its the evolution of business, make a great product and eventually the competitors will even the playing field. But yeah, I'll do a side to side comparison so you guys can see how similar the "leather" is and make your own judgement from there, but they look REALLY similar.

Somehow with fly super loop x and gloves like Rfx Guerrero sparring its broken in ,really comfortable and natural to make a fist. For mitt work i mostly use a everlast Mx pro fight glove and for bag and sparring fly super lace and rival Guerrero is my favourite

      They dont "look" as durable, but the longevity is to be seen, still have a lot of mileage left on these gloves to give a better answer to that. I would get these over Winnings because they are more comfortable and use the same "leather" (IMO) as Winnings. Internal size theyre a little more snug that Sabas gloves, just by a hair.

    Im going to be honest with everyone here and just cut it short. I bought the fly x to try them out and they are overrated and over priced!! They are made in China and feel cheap, the feel of it is just “ok” I have other synthetic leather gloves that don’t feel this cheap at half the price, now as for the padding? surprise!! It’s not as soft as people say it is, the padding is quite thin for a 16oz glove actually, and honestly? save your money and time and if you want a good sparring glove just go for the hit n move all day pro balance glove, the rival rfx Guerrero p4p, the adidas tilt 350 or the winning ms600, I have had all of them except for the winning glove, and I can tell you personally and factually that all those gloves are better sparring gloves in terms of comfort and quality and performance as a “sparring glove” and just the feel of the padding of these gloves is better/ softer for sparring then the fly x and I’m not saying this channel is a payed review but YES a lot of these channels (again not saying this one is) that do reviews are payed reviews or advertisement in favor for certain brands.

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No I agree and you’re right they are currently overrated and overpriced. At the time of this review compared to what else was available I’d say they were par for the course. Still not a fan of the short thumb as well. As far as being paid goes, lmao I wish fly paid me for this 😂 but I do get free gear from some companies that want reviews. Just keeping it 💯 can’t speak for others in terms of 💰

    @csquaredboxing The gloves look like leather to me. TBH, this material looks better than their " real leather " gloves as those are a kind of matte finish and these look to be more glossy. I've always wondered why my Winning gloves didn't smell like leather. They have more of chemical type smell. I thought this might be due to the way the leather was dyed because winning gloves always had a nice bright " pop " to their colors. Wish Fly would have made these gloves with white trim/binding leather as I think that makes the main glove color pop even more. Winning used to do that but has stopped making them that way as well unless you custom order them that way.

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So having both the genuine leather and synthetic leather model of the Fly, the genuine definitely has a nicer feel and quality to it over the synthetic. TBH I think these synthetic models use the same material that Winning uses because the texture, feel, and even smell is pretty much identical to Winning gloves. I've always wondered/ questioned if Winnings were genuine leather, so now my doubts are even more with these new Fly X models.

    • @customerservice9602

      @@csquaredboxing Well the Winning pro model gloves are advertised as leather and the standard head guards are advertised as synthetic. I have a standard head guard in red and a custom leather one in green. The standard has a matte finish and a different feel than the advertised " leather " stuff. Both are very durrable. Those synthetic Flys are the best looking synthetic material I've ever seen. I agree that ** IT LOOKS ** like the real leather material Winning uses. BTW, speculation about the actual material of pro Winning gloves has been talked about for a while. I've seen deteriorated Winning gloves and they seemed to wear like real leather would. 🤷‍♀️ humm...

      @@endy7933 Some headgear have a cloth liner on the inside and some have leather/synthetic leather liner. Real leather typically feels smooth and synthetic leather feels more tacky to the touch. But there are different qualities of synthetic leather and some seem more like plastic and some are pretty close to the quality of leather. Winning from Japan is widely considered to make the best headgear and it comes in synthetic leather standard. But you can order the headgear in leather as a custom option but it will cost more. Both perform well. And perhaps the synthetic is better because if you do a lot of sparring they are easy to clean the blood, sweat and vaseline off.

      @@csquaredboxing Thank you! Also, I don't think I've seen this asked of you much, could've definitely missed it. But what do you personally value most in a glove, is it the protection, feedback, comfort, design, or what? Ideally it'd be a good mix of all these factors, but which one would you prioritize with sacrifices to the others? I personally am probably leaning towards comfort and protection because I have relatively small and slender hands and would prefer not to break them haha.

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For me personally comfort is number 1, I’ve tried so many gloves over the years and if the glove is uncomfortable, I don’t care how great people say it is or how nice it looks, I won’t want to wear it. Second would be feedback, meaning how does it feel when I land my punches on any target whether it be a bag, sparring, mitts, etc. I like a glove with good pop that I can feel my knuckles make contact but offers solid shock absorption. I think the hammers do that very well which is why I recommended them. Quality of course is important as well, but comfort and feel is priority for me.

      Laser Sharp for sparring, these. For bag work I like Title or Reyes.

    I live vicariously through this channel :D I like the simple looks of these gloves but at $200+ USD for synthetic not sure I would buy them.

      Haha me too! Yeah any glove $200 and up is a big pill to swallow, however I can say these are the best synthetic gloves I’ve used and maybe some of the best gloves in general.

    Thanks for the review. Nice to see some brands thinking out of the box and use other high-end material instead of leather. The processing of synthetic leather has come a long way.
    However, I'm a little confused with this review. Are you implying that Winning is using synthetic leather on their gloves instead of real leather? If so, then you're also implying that Winning is using shady and illegal business practices. You can't advertise your products as being real leather when they're not. That's illegal. And Winning are also stating that their gloves are made out of real leather.
    Synthetic leather has come a long way in terms of durability, feel and overall quality. High-end fashion brands like Stella McCartney uses synthetic leathers (for ethical and environmental reasons) on all their "leather products" and the feel and quality is almost impossible to distinguish from real leather.
    But that's one thing. If the budget Fly gloves look, smell and feel the same as Winning gloves it doesn't mean that Winning is disloyal to their customers. Winning gloves are made out of real leather. That's what their are advertised as.

      I’m simply stating that the synthetic leather on these Fly X gloves looks, feels, and even smells identical to Winning gloves, which claim to be genuine leather. Am I a leather expert? No. But I can put the 2 gloves side by side and material wise they look the same. Unless I cut both gloves open and bring them to a leather tanner, then I can’t be 100% sure. I’m simply stating what I see between the 2 gloves I own. Others can form their own opinion as well.

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      And yes, synthetic leather has come a LONG way, so maybe it’s just that the Fly X gloves use such a high quality, it’s hard to distinguish them from winning leather? With that being said, this is the first pair of synthetic boxing gloves with this quality of material I’ve ever used, and I’ve tried several synthetic material gloves. Just food for thought 🤔

      I own both gloves and Carlo is right. The “leather” on both are damn near identical. Winning could very well use real leather. If that’s the case, great. It just means Fly has discovered a way to replicate it and sell it at a lower price.
