I released a short yesterday deciding to incorporate my viewers comments, and I’ll be planting 100 more JWPs after soaking the seeds for 48 hours in warm water. Seeds are soaking as we speak. Thanks Nerina.
I pulled this show up when it first dropped but only now got to see it. What an enjoyable show Steve. I love popping Pine seeds and am looking forward to seeing what your count will be like compared to the black Pines I have been doing. We can't have White Pines in the Bay as were to Coastal for them.
Always happy to see you out there Patricia. Let’s keep popping Pines. The parent trees are super lush and overgrown, so I guess this is an advantageous climate. Cheers
Well steve i’m in a similar process of planting some seeds i picked up on a small building job i was doing here in Newcastle Australia. I noticed some seed pods of a tree i was not familiar with but none the less got a bunch of them. They turned out to be a tree called Majidea Zanguebaciea or black pearl. To my joy so far on first attempt 6 out of 15 seeds have germinated. And i still have another 30 or so seed that I’ve just planted it 9/9/24 and it’s our spring. So good luck with your 100 seeds 👍🇦🇺🦘
Thanks Chris. I’m considering a plan for a stone wall in my Dawn Redwood forest. Wondering if you have any regrets using superglue as mortar. Can’t recall what you used as the aggregate with the glue.
That’s a deep colored RedBud. They have such amazing flowers in early spring. I’ve decided to do a side-by-side to soak or not to soak experiment. I’ll show the results if there are any to show.
Have you thought of soaking the seeds with thick coating for a day as it helps to germinate quicker and more successfully.. great find btw Steve

It’s such a hopeful thing when you plant seeds and such a great thing when something grows
Nice work steve. Hopefully you will have loads of jwp for forest ect in the future.

Hi steve no regrets yet.wall still going strong.i used baking soda.
If you get multiple seedlings will you be sharing some of those with your fans. I would love to get a JWP that is not grafted onto JBP root base.
That’s a distinct possibility Lee. Cheers.
You must have had some strong coffee to plant those seeds in superman mode
The wake up fuel of champions cheers, Tom
Wouldn't it be nice or from my fair lady: Oh, wouldn't it be lovely
It’s great to chat with somebody who remembers the old musicals. Thank you, Tom.

Yes. Those tax bills never fail & never go down.
Our property taxes are very high now. Being sure we have enough has always been a high priority of ours.
Can i buy some seeds or seedlings from you?
So far nothing has sprouted, so we’ll have to revisit this in Spring! 🪴
Id gladly buy seeds from you in bulk my bonsai club is having a very hard time getting JWP seeds since covid.@Steves_Backyard_Bonsai
