Your approach to explaining things has taken me from being interested in bonsai to now having three garden centre shrubs growing in pots out on my patio to see what will happen. Thanks Jelle for all these fantastic videos
Hi jelle, Just following you for the last month. But i wanted to make you a big compliment on how your giving me so much information to grow better Bonsai.
Thank you for this great video Jelle! Watching the year round development and styling work is so helpful. Your explanations will really come in handy for me in the future.
Another very useful ideo to watch. My JWP video comes out next week but I was very conservative as it did have several yearsof very poor root health prior to last Sept repot. I love the way you have moved this forward and I look forward to seeing the progression further. Cheers :)
Hi, Jelle - I'm not a huge fan of pines, but I do like to watch how you work on all your trees and I shared the channel with another bonsai enthusiast!👍
Hello! You seem very knowledgeable, could you help me? I bought pinus mugo last year, had it in my balcony through the winter, it looked great. I wired it for a month or two in the winter. It got a bit sap going out of the bark but it didn't seem damaged. In the spring, it started getting brown needles, I thought maybe it's the pests so i sprayed it a couple of times with my homemade natural mixes of 1 tsp peppermint castile soap, 1 tsp tea tree castile soap, 1tsp hydrogen peroxide 1%, 2 tbsp isoprol alcohol, 500ml water. It didn't help much, then I repotted it from the nursery pot into akadama/lava/pumice mix, picked a big pot too to give it more room to grow. I did move the roots quite a bit when repotting as i entangled them and removed the old potting mix so maybe I stressed it further. Now it sits in my balcony, some needles are still browning, the ones at the top seem to be more green. Also, it didn't properly flower in spring, I can see the beginnings of buds but they didn't actually grow. So I thought maybe it's lacking nutrients? I used slow release fertilizer on it now. How do I save the tree? Thanks!
He mag men nu naald bomen bv uit de volle grond halen en in een pot zetten zijn veel kaarsen aan. Dus ik durf ni staat al jaren in de tuin . Ik ben nog maar net bezig .
Excellent work on the tree.
My favourite part was the narration by the chipmunk.

11:38 You said you'd keep the black cable tie for a couple of weeks, but at the beginning of winter it is still there
haha, well spotted. I indeed forgot to take it off, and during the editing I thought, naja, lets leave the speech in!

chances are the wiring is the issue or keeping it too dry. All the handling just made it worse. Most of the time it is best to leave it alone

Is German your first language?... Nice work
Dutch.
Jelle, de "jin" wordt "djin" genoemd; de Angelsaksen doen dat zo, in navolging van Japan.
