You have touched our lives more than you know.My wife found you on you tube and began watching you. As practicing Reform Jews, she decided to start covering her hair with all the wraps and techniques to show. It has connected her to a Divine and we are really growing within our Judaism and now eat Kosher and keep Shabbat. We live in a small town in Virginia and hope to make it out to Baltimore to hear you speak.
I have been experiencing similar life lessons and it seemed like I didn't know, to what extent, until I saw this. I kept thinking, "Yes!" and "That's it!" with some sort of checklist. This has been both humbling and a blessing to me. Rivka, thank you for making this.
OH!!!! amen, amen, amen, amen Rivka!!!!!!! I am not Jewish I am a Christian....but I am a Torah observant Christian. About a year ago The LORD lead my family and I into deeper relationship with Him and showed my husband and I the HUGE, beyond words importance of following the Torah!!! It has been eye opening to see the amount of wisdom gained, the amount of physical freedom that comes from being obedient to Him....beyond words. I can tell you of so many experiences in this last year that He has used to confirm that it is Him we are hearing from...I truly can not explain it all, it would take up far too much room. For so long, tooooo long as a Christian I viewed the Law of God as a burden as something He used in the old testament to hold people down (I am SO sorry I ever viewed God's righteous, holy instructions in that manner) He meant them for freedom!!!! Shabbat is the first holy day that we implemented in my family, and I look forward to that one day a week, when I just get to tune out from the rest of the crazy hustle and bustle of the world and focus on my family and my God....it is a blessing NOT a burden, my heart longs for Shabbat! And I can;t even begin to tell Him how sorry I am that I ever viewed it as something bad. Unfortunately as a Christian I was taught we no longer HAVE to do those things....no we don't HAVE to do anything, He doesn't ever want to feel like He is making us love Hid holy days...if you have the love of God in your heart you will WANT to follow Him and His ways....His ways are Holy not ours...and as a believer I need to conform my ways to His not His ways to mine!!! Oh goodness may that never be!!! I have celebrated all of the Holy days this year so far (except Shavuot, which is coming up) and it very likely does not look exactly like how you would celebrate it, because our family includes Jesus in the Holy Days....but it has blessed our family so far beyond anything I could have ever imagined. My kids LOVED Hanukkah and Sukkot...my kids are still asking me to put on Hanukkah music in May lol. And the best part of Hanukkah was I didn't have to lie to them....there was no telling them fictional characters are real and feeling guilty because I just broke God's command of not lying....truly I can see these Holy Days are God's days, they belong to Him....they have been left unadulterated....where as many of the main stream Christian holidays have been infiltrated by the world, and they have been mixed with the world....something God specifically says not to do. So, that's my testimony...got a little longer than I thought....but I figured I had to share after hearing this video.
This is only the second clip I've seen and I have to thank you for sharing these matters of the heart. You are uniquely articulate and sincere. There can be no greater merit than to spiritually nourish the public. Kol tuv.
You are such a blessing, Rivka. I love your videos and I'm so glad you said what you did about honoring our parents. When I was younger, I was very critical of mine and would argue with them. Even though I took care of them when they got older, (both are dead now, may they rest in peace,) I still feel terribly guilty for arguing with them when I was young. Even worse, now that they're dead, I cannot make it up to them. So I am so grateful you have emphasized the importance of honoring parents. Hopefully, other listeners will take it to heart and not make the mistake I did.
I am a Christian. This is the best teaching I have heard on all that you have shared here. So when you talk of the Torah are you talking about the first 5 books of the Bible. It would be helpful to know some things I can refer to that will give me more of what you are referring too. Excellant, excellant teaching. God Bless you and Thank you for these videos as they are life changing. Washington state USA.
Hey Rivka, Boundaries are absolute essential and we ever so need them in this boundary less world. However, I do believe asking your friend which is more meaningful to you is bit of over kill. I absolutely agree that spending time with kids is the utmost important thing; nonetheless, I believe every time my friend or other relatives ask me to attend something or invite me to a function, I would just rather say sorry I cannot make it instead of always reminding them in somewhat meaningful way that I need to spend more time with my family which is very important to me. It kind of comes across as bit over analytical and makes random simple things into a look what I am doing and philosophical explanation of why I cannot make it. I am guy and watch your videos regularly and find agreement in most of what you express. However, I do have friends that are similar in their approach as your and it seems very strange at times. I would be talking to him on phone while he is driving home and once he gets home he immediately says sorry I need to go, I just arrived at home and need to spend time with my wife and kids as they are very important to me and I am trying to prioritize them. I would have been completely fine if he said, hey I just got home, can I call you when I have some free time. Even though in contextual message he is right, it seems a more normal response to just live it out rather announcing it. Anyways Just my thoughts, I do appreciate your videos.
The best example you could ever show us. was the phone unexpected phone call should I answer it or should I not while you were on video have a human nature to answer the phone love your inspirational teaching
Hi Rivka, your videos have been very helpful. You explain things thoroughly and in a way that is easy to understand. I have one concern about converting which is related to horseback riding, I love horses and my lifestyle requires me to ride horses and work with them, which most often means that I need to wear pants. I know that it is against jewish laws of modesty to wear pants, I was wondering how that would be dealt with in my situation? I want to honor G-d and do the right thing but I also want to keep riding horses. I'm also wondering if cycling is an inappropriate sport for a woman to join? The uniform is tight spandex shorts.. Even if you don't have answers maybe you could give some advice? Thank you
I have been thinking about it for the last couple of days....I hope saying LORD or Lord or God didn't offend you, I always try to be respectful when I am speaking to people...and I don;t know exactly when you use Hashem instead....I am sorry if it offended you in any way!!! I would never want you or any one else to feel offended by anything I say. It could be no big deal to you, but for some reason it's been running through my mind for a few days to clear it up! So, I had to write to you!
I notice you said you don’t have conversations with men because you feel that it would be inappropriate for you to give attention to other men when you could be giving it to your husband. Is it appropriate for me as a man to be watching your videos to learn about Judaism, or would it only be appropriate for me to learn from a man?

My dear, you are a Woman of Valor and you have DEEP wisdom. Blessings upon you!
