After watching Ronald Howard's Sherlock Holmes series, only this series looks real and worth watching.

Love seeing Watson's quick thinking and perfectly executed action against the villain in one swift movement. Even to catching a gun in midair! 😲👏👍👍

My favorite between Rathbone, Howard and Brett is Howard as Holmes and David Bruce as Watson.

I think Ronald Howard's turn as Holmes is underrated. Sure the episodes are rather light and full of humor, but you still believe that Howard is Holmes.

That's my sentiment as well; although many think that Jeremy Brett is the quintessential Holmes.

@@McIntyreBible Jeremy Brett was good, and it helped that they did decent adaptations of the original stories. And better production values! Basil Rathbone made an excellent Holmes, but the movies he was in weren't good adaptations, and tended to stray too far from the source material. So I'm always ambivalent about the Rathbone movies. Ronald Howard's turn is somewhere in between Rathbone and Brett.

@@macsnafu the one thing that annoys me whenever I watch J.Brett as Holmes is, that, he adds too much humor in the episodes!

I didn't think I'd like this pairing as Holmes & Watson, but I'm really enjoying the timing of the interactions.

Sherlocks last line "I pulled your leg" leaves the viewer confused

He was teasing Watson about the indignities performed on Watson's person. He described his pull on Watson's nose as the old saying "I pulled your leg," meaning he could fool Watson by the disguise Holmes was wearing. Holmes explained it in a teasing manner to soften Watson's anger at Holmes over the worst indignity.

22:08 - Holmes hits a 400 yr old Da Vinci painting with his hand? Major blooper faux pas!

The problem with this Watson is not that he is the dumbest of the Watsons, but that he is boring.

If that's what you think .., you must be in your 20s, early 30s; with a taste for well off women married to rather older men?
