Why so many commercials? I get it, nothing's free! But all these commercials disrupt the listeners literary pleasure. The cadence, .. the flow, .... is disrupted perpetually so that the reader loses that quintessential feeling of being in the midst of discovering answers to great mysteries in the stories being told.
Didn’t even start yet and already an ad! This happened on another channel too, so I just leave and watch it on a different channel! Most movies are on several channels! Wellesley channel has this with NO ADS! Watching it over there! Why didn’t you??! There is also a colorized version here on UTUBE.
If you've watched these movies enough times and a certain actor seems familiar you're right. Harry Cording played a different character in six different movies.
These Rathbone/Bruce films are the funniest things ever. Terrible special effects, pathetic plots and hilarious/corny dialogue. I often wonder if watchers in the 1940's thought these were supposed to be serious. A GREAT watch as always.
When Captain Simpson locks Inspector Lestrade in the closet towards the end of the Sherlock Holmes film, "House of Fear" , unless I am mishearing it, at one point it sounds like that when Lestrade yells out, "Sgt. Bleaker" repeatedly that he at least once yells out, "Sgt. Baker". Maybe I am just mishearing what he says in that scene in the movie.
Is it just me or does anyone else catch themselves watching this movie at least once a month
i absolutely ADORE these. i am partial to Rathbone & Bruce as sherlock and Watson. my grandmother had the entire collection on cassette from the radio shows in the nineteen thirties. with all the old advertisements. she made copies for me , which i held on to til they wore out.

In the past, before the net invaded our lives, the number of commercials on Network TV was record breaking. TH-cam has broken that record.
