Here's my take on Jimmy McHugh and Dorothy Fields' 'I'm in the Mood for Love', recorded live at the Grand Chameleon. / grandchameleon
'I'm in the Mood for Love' was written for the 1935 film 'Every Night at Eight', in which it was sung by Frances Langford. The song became her signature song, and when she would perform it entertaining troops in WWII, it was frequently a show-stopper.
It has also been recorded by Jack Little, Louis Armstrong, Vera Lynn, Billy Eckstine, Nat King Cole, Jo Stafford, Julie London, Mae West, Rosemary Clooney, Louis Prima, Keely Smith, Pat Boone, Shirley Bassey, Barbra Streisand, and many others. I hope you enjoy it!
