  • I made this video because it took me forever to find videos pertaining to a Subaru Outback and just wanted to see if this helps anyone. I know the video quality isn’t great and I sucked at recording with my other hand. Subscribe and comment below with any questions and I will get back to you and answer anything I skipped over and didn’t show in the video. I appreciate all constructive criticism to help me improve. I definitely was just trying to get the radio and camera installed so it was a rush job.
    The red wire that come off the yellow for yellow video cable will also be spliced into the grey and yellow strip from the tale light.

    Great video ! I am installing my radio this weekend. Can you help me with the pink Feka conector that is next to the radio antena. I have no idea for what us it use and I see on your video that you have it conected. My radio does not have OEM BT or NAV. Thank you very much!

    Thanks for this. I also have a 2011 outback and want the back up camera and bluetooth..... One improvement is to solder each connection and use heat shrink insulation or use crimp connectors on each wire. Wirefly makes good insulated butt connectors. Use a good crimper too with long handles. You can buy good crimpers at lowe's in the electrical section. Thomas & Betts is a good brand there are others. If you can pull the wire out of butt connector it is not crimped well. Saw that camera came with head unit but on amazon it says camera available separately?? I was wondering how I was going to do this and your video is a great help. Thanks again.

    Awesome video thanks for sharing. I'm getting ready to change out my stereo and this is super helpful. I would have never though of just pulling the cover off glad they made that easy. How has this held up for you?

    Hey great video, I'm installing a similar head unit and backup camera tomorrow in my 2012 subaru legacy. Should be very much the same except where the reverse light cables are.
    I do have a question, do you wire the yellow rca extra red wire to the blue reverse trigger wire or to the reverse power cable? It looked like not to the power cable but to the reverse trigger one.

    • @Jerk_411
      @Jerk_411  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For me it was the purple reverse input + that I attached the red wire to

    • @Jerk_411
      @Jerk_411  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I left it on the reverse input because that work instead of attaching it to the red back up camera power red cable. Definitely trial and error for me lol

      Fred it came with the radio. Not completely sure I did add the amazon link to the kit I used. Glad it helped. I will probably have to do a better video but just wanted to put it out there because it was so hard to find a TH-cam video about a Subaru Outback. Lol guess many ppl aren’t trying upgrade anything. Appreciate the love.
