  • Is it a Robot Ant, or an Ant Robot. Ion know, all that I know is that it is walkin and stalkin and crawlin and brawlin, damn freestyle brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

A octagon shape body would be better, and put the battery at the center so that the weight of the whole robot is distributed equality to the servos, I tried that design before the gear teeth of my servos torn off, so I tried to build a more symmetrical body it works fine ang the servo stress is reduce due to the body shape. And try using sa ripple gait or a wave gait for a 6 legged robot it uses less power due to the ways the legs moves. the most stable gait you can use is a tripod gait. Nice robot by the way.

Nice, surprised you have such a small channel! This is pretty quality.

THINK MARK THINK meme: just add a fake antenna and move both of them on the front, like real ants' antennas

This is awesome. You have great maker skills, and you know how to make an entertaining video as well. Your channel should be way bigger, and will be eventually.

Dayumn, that's cool! For a first robot this is pretty cool! Though, it's best you start from wheeled/tracked robots, then move on to walking robots.

I'm a biologist not an electronics nerd but biomimicry is a good path to go down. Biologically, we are all segmented animals. In the more primitive forms like earthworms and centipedes the segments are clearly obvious. Each segment is designed to do only one or two simple functions, like move a pair of opposing legs in a simple way. Each segment is then coordinated by a head cluster of nerves or "brain" (or computer) to achieve complex movement, like turning or twisting or inverting of the whole organism.
More advanced organisms like vertebrates are still segmented but the segments are not so obvious because they have been fused and the barriers between them removed. But the method of control is still similar in that a central nervous system controls a peripheral one. In simpler terms each segment is controlled by its own "minibrain" and the three segments coordinated by a "master brain""
I apologise if you already know this, but if not, then you may be interested as a way of programming your segmented robot.

This is wicked! Now you just need a way to fit a camera on the front and you have a custom exploration bot. In the real world would be useful for search and rescue or exploring dangerous environments.

good job!, I suggest try using some inverse kinematics movements.

you didnt have to reprint the legs for the servo horns, could have just re-used the existing ones, or cut the new ones to size. We do that for RC planes all the time.

And wondered how could you connect the Arduino to the RC controller...

hmmm. i didn't catch the part as to why the body was so low to the ground. i assume its a limitation byt the servos.
With tank controls shouldn't the other side move in the opposite direction?

technically, yes. However this is for turning on the spot, if one is simply faster than the other then it turns while moving, like a car

cool! i had an idea but i havent got to making it because im lazy but you could try to make it! The idea was to make a glove with potentiometers on every joint so if you move your fingers a robot hand moves. I think these types of things are used in hospitals now to perform surgeries precicely. Would love to see it made! shouldnt be that hard haha.
