Appreciate you my guy. This was a very fast quick fix. I had ppl tinker with my setting tryna fix my audio issues and this made a new issue. I realized I was streaming at 720p when I should be doing 1440p 120hz hdr minimum.

bro…holy shit. I bought a cheap 45$ capture card that has worked fine with normal 1080p 60 but said it had 4k 120 pass through but i could never get it to work, tried this and worked instantly
thx for the vid. Question. I had an 2k144 Monitor, played and captured 1440p120 (warezone) on my XSX with my elgateo HD60 X without any Problem. Now I have a 4K 144 Monitor and play Warzone with 120fps on 4k. Is there no chance to capture it with this settings? If no, that means I always have to change my resolution on my xbox to 2k, re-connect my elgato, record it and when Im finished with my content recording I had to plug-out elgato again to play with 4k 120 again?
So can you have passthrough to your 4k 60 monitor in 4k 60 while recording in 1080p 60 HD at the same time through this device? or will it only record at the same resolution that the input is in? I basically wanted to be able to play at 4k60 on my monitor while recording in 1080p with this card at the same time. Will this capture device just downgrade the 4k to 1080 to record while passing through to the tv in full resolution?
I don’t get the 1440 option, if I use both hdmi 2.1 that are connected to the Elgato by themselves then it pops up. Only when I use the elgato hd60x, it goes away! Idk what to do

This solved half my issue. Now I can run 1440p however I cant run 120fps. Both monitors i have are 1440p 165hz. When I go into HDR game calibration, it doesn't give me the option to go next. Just the help option comes up. If you know how to fix this, please let me know.
When Im on Auto Detected (Recommended) I dont have a dropdown box for the refresh rate. When I am on HDMI i am able to choose 60hz or 120hz. How can I get around this? I have a 4k60hz passthrough capture card but i cant figure out how to use 120hz1080p on my console but use my capture card. when i use 120hz my capture card glitches and spazzes out. when i use 60hz on my console it doesnt. can someone help me?

Does the capture card not work with a Xbox one x? I got it set up and it’s playing side by side with my TV on a laptop. So the video is there but the static sound it gets recording myself and others talk is haywire. Also not sure why it’s not recording, is it just something I’m doing wrong or do I need to get an external memory storage?
The back of the box says perfect for Xbox Series x/s and Xbox one! I’ve also had the issue with static on Elgatos Capture software! I ended up just using OBS instead and it solved the static problem! OBS is free to download online! Hope this helps!!💯

I don't want to record anything since I'm not a streamer. I just want to play XSS games using laptop as the monitor. The questions are: 1. Do I still need to another display (TV or monitor) in the set up? 2. If yes, and I only got TV with 720p and no HDR, can I still get 4K HDR @60fps with VRR display on my laptop? Any information would be highly appreciated, before I spend so much money for this. Thanks!
You can't use your laptop screen as a monitor for a console unless your laptop has a HDMI in port, which the vast majority of laptops, don't have. You also can't get a true 4K image on a monitor that isn't 4K, so if you're using a 720p monitor, there is no point in upgrading to anything more powerful than an xbox one.

they recommend only using internal for a dual set up so better to use display

I'm trying to record 4k, and source does say 2160p59 HDR, but when I record capture says 1080p30. Why is that?
Unfortunately you cannot record at inputs that high. The most for now is 1440 I believe. You can play at 4K but not record at that resolution💯
