    You shouldn't have to go through that awkward procedure to view your engine vital temperatures, what were BMW thinking!? Old school is best, I don't want to have to communicate with my tach using morse code to view my essential engine stats..

      So yours sounds faulty; I had a somewhat similar situation in my Focus MK3 - the coolant temp often fluctuated, luckily it'd never go over 90°C but sometimes it would just randomly drop to about 70-75°C for a short while and back up again, like it had moments of opening too much. Changing the thermostat completely solved the issue in that instance, and it always stayed at the spec 83°C. But maybe it was just the coolant temperature sensor as the thermostat came with a new one but I never bothered testing I just replaced the pair.

    Hello I have bmw e90 2007
    I replaced the thermostat and water pump, flushed the coolant and added new one. This BMW model has no electric water pump,right as it doesn't activate by turning on the heater and pressing the accelerator for 10 seconds So I tried opening the bleed screw and add coolant. I patiently waited to make the fluid stable and no bubbles visible. (Not sure if I did the right thing though). I closed the reservoir cap and started the engine. Temperature starting to increase. It reached 105degree celsius and slowly reach 108degree celcius. After 5mins it was at 110degree celcius so I turned it off. Is the temperature normal? If not what should I do? What is the maximum temperature for me to turn it off? Thanks

      @@meriss1901 i tried checking with a mechanic they said 230 is too high but he was not sure and i went to bmw dealership but a manager said 220 F to 250 is ok but i dont know who to believe. My display is not working so i dont even know if its overheating. I honestly been driving it. And it hasnt leak antifreeze or had any problem yet with it. I dont use it everyday just when necessary. I want to just make sure its at operating temperature. Do you know what numbers is the correct operating temperature?

      AUTO TUBE should be around 190 to 210. your thermostat probably isn't opening and thats why is sitting at a high temp

    • @carmaster_2jz729
      @carmaster_2jz729 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kat Bil Maybe head gasket leak, is the exhaust smokey, lots of white smoke? It then would take water and the car would overheat

    • @carmaster_2jz729
      @carmaster_2jz729 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kat Bil the temperature seems ok, your car can go to 104 safely that is normal for it, 85 in highway is because you are travelling fast and the wind cools your engine and when In city there is no wind and I presume it is very hot , are u sure the water isn’t leaking anywhere?
