Very interesting version. Percy with the vocal effect and Bonzo playing it tight and straight-up, almost flat, then late-on taking it up a notch. Yeah, they were still very much on it. Nice to hear.
When your wheel's sinking low and you need sonic burning electric joy juice this is it. The mighty Led Zeppelin unadorned, raw, naked, seething, exhilerating...life itself! I like a great sounding Zep bootleg in the morning and the comments on this one have been the most fun so far
This is absolutely astounding! JPJ getting down on the keyboards, dear lord. Please someone tell me if there is anyone out there that can approach this level of live performance today.
questioning if Zeppelin would have been popular in the 80s, 90s, 2000's to now is silly because Zeppelin continues to be competitive and dominates today. They still are played on radio as much as ever, they still sell back catalogue as much or more than anyone and if the release a reissue or new old stuff it instantly is hot! I wish Zep had been able to continue because they changed music and made it all better and maybe we would have avoided, hair bands, rap and American Idol and Bieber becau
Amazing--anything from the final tour..THANKS ! Great sound...JPL Jones so underated as a keyboardist, songwriter and bass player..>Thank god he, Page, and Plant and Bonzo Jr. still around ! The original Zep was only equaled by the Who, Rush, Beatles and UFO...and maybe Skynrd...Shows the range of Zep that they could pull off organ based blues boogie woogie funk...
ho visto questo bellissimo concerto in compagnia di altri 8 amici Zurigo 1980 ...INDIMENTICABILE......VERY GOOD!!!!!
Van Halen, Who, Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, U2, the best you could ever be is the 2nd greatest rock band. This sound is just a clinic on how to rock out live, can't be beat.
,,Jimmy's guitar work on this particular song was good and creative during the performance, I think he was on top of it pretty much during it's lifespan unlike "In The Evening" the year before on tour.
This certainly is a great performance. Its so disappointing that I will never lived in the time of John Bonham because he is the inspiration behind my drumming.
@TMNigel You are absolutely correct. What made Zep the greatest is they were so innovative and covered so many genres from Kashmir to Achilles to Battle of Evermore and Levee. Google the alternative version to Levee. Will blow you away! Also check out alternative to In My Time. Incredible how they put tunes together. When Giants Walked The Earth, Hammer Of The Gods 2 great ways to remember them!
@LedZeppelinHD Not offended just confused by your statement?? I love the line that u mentioned after Dazed and Cofused, lol.Hell Plant was high, who knows what the hell he meant by that?I think Plants voice got a lot more refined(less raspy blues)and his music was great, his solo stuff holds it own and his lyrics didn't skip a beat IMO.As far as Page running out of riffs??I honestly laughed on that one.C'mon really?I just saw JPJ with the Vultures in Seattle and he stole the show!!
Page was on Heroin until the 83 ARMS concerts where he admitted to his closest friends he had just kicked the habit. Bonzo was drinking so heavily in 80 in order to kick his heroin habit and it killed him. Plant had already checked out mentally from Zeppelin at this point in time. Jones kept it together. Plant could never leave Zeppelin because of his love and friendships
Pretty good except for Plant checking out. They were reknitting. JPJ, Jimmy and Bonzo were still a unit. Plant after Karac's death wasn't sure music is what he wanted. That said, starting with the rehearsals in 1978 where they started getting to know one another again and culminating in Bonzo's death. Plant was slowly reintegrating. Roy Harper said in '84 everything would've been ok if they'd gotten through the next couple months. I don't buy Plant's modern revisionism. If Bonzo hadn't died, they'd likely have done a new album in 1982 toured in 84 followed by longer and longer breaks where Plant did his solo thing in between. I just don't buy 'Plant was done.' Some nights in 80' he was into it, you can tell. Other nights not so much.
gjrock70 None knows when he quit heroin even in 1985 in some pics he looks skinny and some not it was probably at that time that he quit it. Cocaine later at the end of the 90’s.
@johpor59 I read Page got worse after Bonham died. He went down hill after 75. I think it was really the early-mid 80s when he came out of it. But he does sound great on this.
Not to rub it in your noses. I saw them twice in Germany in 1980, when I was stationed there. 1st was the infamous Nuremburg show when Bonzo simply passed out after about three songs, During "Black Dog" you could see Bonzo was out of itI think. It was general admission and the venue was really small, about 2 or 3000 capacity. I got there early and was front and center. 2nd time was in Munich at the Olympic Arena. Best show I've ever seen! Scaled down, no big lite show. Old tunes. What a blast!
@TMNigel LOL yeh, i think Jonesy makes this song, but dont forget Bonham, wtf am i talking about they all groovin. Robert plants vocals, jimmys guitar, bonham drums and jonesy just tearing it up in the solo.
@Stratocaster21st1994 Not to brag, but I really am! Too many times I didn't go see people that I had a chance too, only to have them die, break-up or whatever. Hendrix (yes, I'm that old!), SRV, George Harrison. Fortunately, before they died I DID see, Muddy Waters, Albert King, Bobby Blue Bland, Rory Gallagher, Freddie King. Yup! I'm a blues man!
@JohnAllanification In my opinion, he was not in good shape. Really thin. His solos just didn't flow like they had before. Again, in my opinion, Jimmy's playing took a dive that began around this time. However, I still thought they were fantastic! I loved their setlist, which included oldies from the early Zep and Yardbirds days. I loved the stripped-down stage show. Believe it or not, John Paul Jones was active onstage during these shows. Coming out to the front and really busy with his playing
@GranDrJ I think Zeppelin should have had a far longer break after 1977. John was drinking more and Page was messing with shit. Robert losing his son. 75/77 Tours had exhausted them. I think big tours like the U.S. hurt John Bonham a lot being away from his family. Maybe they should have come back in 1981 or 82 rather than 79.
John Bonham was not ever addicted to Heroin. Read the book 'Beast: John Bonham', by C. M. Kushins. I spoke with Mr. Kushins. He wrote it with Love, and great facts. Not the rubbish that he was "permanently drunk" in 1980, but that is not true, either. He was home in England and he did not go into in excess like Touring America. Opinions are NOT facts. He was a Man pushed too far. You obviously don't know anything about #JohnBonham to make such remarks.
I think he cleaned up a bit by '80. He was really hard and heavy into by heroin by '77. They sounded really sharp in those last concerts in '79-80. Then Bonzo dies, what a waste.
Come to me for service every 100 miles, baby let me check your points fix your overdrive! Trouble free transmission helps your oils flow, mama let me pump your gas, mama let me do it all!
I always loved this particular performance in 80' right up there with Earls Court 75'. Jimmy was feelin' it. Rock solid!
First live version of this song I've heard in ages that the guitar doesn't totally overpower the keys. Brilliant!
Best "Trampled Under Foot" ever!
Sublime, hypnotic, mesmerising LED ZEPPELIN. The best band EVER.
Greetings from Danmark 🤜 🇩🇰 🤛
super, super zahrana trampled under foot, long live led zeppelin, bravo.
They sound GREAT here!!!!!!!! Love Plants voice around this time.
always changing sound and style.....they evolved well eamonn
Man I just listened to this for a second time and I am just blown away
This is the best live version I heard on youtube, thank you for uploading this master piece.
Very interesting version. Percy with the vocal effect and Bonzo playing it tight and straight-up, almost flat, then late-on taking it up a notch. Yeah, they were still very much on it. Nice to hear.
Four wizards at work. Bonham drops the hammer at the end. Awesome version!
When your wheel's sinking low and you need sonic burning electric joy juice this is it. The mighty Led Zeppelin unadorned, raw, naked, seething, exhilerating...life itself! I like a great sounding Zep bootleg in the morning and the comments on this one have been the most fun so far
Nobody can touch this. Nobody. The last two minutes is the most incredible ride in rock history. Love ya Fuzzy let’s take a ride west at sunset?
This is absolutely astounding! JPJ getting down on the keyboards, dear lord. Please someone tell me if there is anyone out there that can approach this level of live performance today.
This is very good. If Bonham had lived, I believe that Led Zeppelin were onto a stellar tour...
Awesome version.
This band had played around 600 gigs in the US by that time. Live electronic capture of the concert sound in '80 was excellent. Cool!
Very cool! Sounds awesome .............
best version of the song
After all these years, listening to Bonham still gives Me chills.....He was brilliant. I think this performance is better than Earl's Court 1975.
PUSH!...I can't stop listening to this. love
Wonderful performance!!!!
I guess this is the best live version of this song.
Earl's court . Best recording in my opinion
THIS IS ROCK'N'ROLL ! ! ! ! !
Got this concert on bootleg but forgot how good it was. Thanks for reminding me. X
Very good version!

This is really good quality. It's actually listenable! Please post more.
this sounds really great!! please keep posting!!!!
This is good, but Frankfurt is the best version on the 80' tour. If you like this, you'll love that. Thanks for the upload boonyan18.
ho visto questo bellissimo concerto in compagnia di altri 8 amici Zurigo 1980 ...INDIMENTICABILE......VERY GOOD!!!!!
OH MY GOD!!!
good sound..
omg jpj of the keyboard = amazing

i think the were just getting better.

Good that JPJ's keyboard was nice a high in this mix, other bootlegs ive heard its far too quiet :(
@ghost20063 Thanks. He adds a lot to this song.
Thank you for the comment. Besides, though live of the '80 of "Heartbreaker" and "Achilles Last Stand" is contributed to my channel besides this?
This certainly is a great performance. Its so disappointing that I will never lived in the time of John Bonham because he is the inspiration behind my drumming.
If ever there was a time to use the word SPECTACULAR this would be it!
That's better than the record.🙂
ammmmmazing
:B

@thespainisharmada JPJ is playing bass with a foot pedal in this song.

Great sound. Whole show this clean?
@herbal1971 Your absolutely right!
agreed!!
@9KPhalak He's also their bass player. He doesn't play bass live on this song, he just plays keyboards.
Much, much better than 1977 and Knebworth. Somebody must have sat down and had a serious talk with Page.
My favorite Zeppelin tune, but yes 1980...End of the line here....unfortunately.
I find it hard to believe Page is more on form than in '77!
i think that was there 2nd to last show
damn groovy

The best summation of Zeppelin 1977- 80.

@johpor59

This song is very similar to the "Bad Communication"(sung by B'z, Japan's rock artist). Please compare them.
wow ya hear that lil f-up? nice save!! Zep is the best!
@facespaz its a bootleg (not official)
Amazing! what CD is this from so I can buy it?
@Phenomenon58 Yeah...PUSH!
@TMNigel CANT STOP LISTENING?!!!! I CANT STOP MOVING MY ASS LOL
Yeah, at Knebworth Page was jonesing. Here he was back to the game.
kick ass.

rub-away,fellah (as)not enought is known abt the band at this stage.
... was Jimmy,ok ?
@TMNigel LOL yeh, i think Jonesy makes this song, but dont forget Bonham, wtf am i talking about they all groovin. Robert plants vocals, jimmys guitar, bonham drums and jonesy just tearing it up in the solo.
SEXY

Who is the keyboardist? He's great too. I never hear anybody mention him.
Jones plays this tune in a major key, who knows why?
@plantationful No one can! The other bands all try to play it safe...Jimmy's the most exciting ever and Zep, who can follow them ?
io ero lí
jonesing? what do you mean
?
