This is great, thank you!! We actually recently placed an order for a Seltos S & were surprised at how few reviews there were out there of the base spec. For us the Seltos S was an easy choice - great size for the money & it drove far far better than anything else we tested. As for spec, the on-the-road pricing here in WA meant that the GT-Line was $16.5k more than the S, and while we’d have loved AWD, leather steering wheel, alloys and rear a/c, we couldn’t justify spending almost the price of a brand new Picanto on those features. Also, it’s a bit silly that you can’t have a black roof with the sunroof on the GT-Line!
Total agreed with you about LED head lights. My old RIO 2013 has LED lights which make the car more elegant I think. I ordered a SELTOS Sport+ last year, it arrived this year. When realised that there was no LED lights I was soooo disappointed
Firstly, yes this car has Kia's old logo - the shipment of new-badge models was delayed, but this car is otherwise identically specced and equipped to MY22 cars. SO! Our question: Would you like to see the GT-Line in with the non-turbo engine? Comment below! You can read the article here: www.whichcar.com.au/reviews/2021-kia-seltos-gt-line-petrol-turbo-review
One HUGE annoyance with the car is when using the Sat/Nav, it has audible alerts for school zones, speed zone changes, traffic etc which comes through the speakers and there doesn't appear to be any way of turning the alerts off. Really annoying when listening to music and there are constant interruptions.
Body design looks very influenced by the Suzuki Vitara, but not quite as good. I think if you can live with the Vitara interior it kills the Seltos (and most other brands). Great turbo engine, fantastic transmission...and you get rear cross traffic alert (and a bunch of other stuff) for under $35k.
Wheels readers do care about the specifics - I’d take a VW TRoc every time for value design and driver enjoyment and its launch here delayed due to demand - the styling of this car is unnecessarily fussy - we want fun not just good to drive and I hope the Cupra Formentor shakes the market up somewhat. Corolla Cross when it arrives will take the budget buyer $
I've just picked up my new Seltos Sport+ and I must say, the speed warning is absolutely INFURIATING. As it is camera based (sees the road signs), it believes the 40km school zones are permanent speed limits and will beep at you incessantly on weekends and after school hours if you do over 40km in a school zone. The fact that this audible warning is on by default, and the only way to turn it off is through navigating laboriously through the menu on the info system to turn it off EVERY TIME YOU DRIVE, makes this just the most ridiculously annoying feature. If I'd known about the school zone thing, I would not have bought this car. Now considering selling and going to a Honda HRV. At least Mitsubishi got it right by not beeping, but simply flashing the speed limit on the dash if you go over. KIA NEED TO CHANGE THIS FEATURE.
@@graantmnz Hi Graant, thanks for getting involved. If diesel isn’t dead, it’s on life support. There are so few diesels left in this segment and the sales of the remaining diesel models are down significantly. Yes, they do offer diesel and the Sportage diesel is the pick of the powertrains, but there is a reason the Seltos diesel isn’t offered here: it’s not worth it.
Ok, without watching the review yet, I just want to comment for the manufacturers, unless you are doing a retro models to rejuvinate a classic from the 70's, please and I mean that sincerely do not paint cars in this colour. Ok, my rant is over, don't mind me, happy watching. : )
I sort of agree with this assessment in that the " S " doesn't look all that appealing in the solid gold (?) color, but the " GT-LINE " with its contrasting roof color is acceptable.

Was considering buying this last year , but saw Kia sportage and never looked back . I do love the value proposition of S with safety pack .
Very impressed with the Seltos comparison. Will seriously look at a GT line model as a result of the review.

2 reviews a week . Please keep it as detailed as this and not 10 minute runarounds . Great review by the way!
Thanks! We had great fun making it.
2:40 probably a good idea for video editors to know which car is which. Talking about the GT-line while showing the S.

When is the newest Seltos coming out? I heard June 2022 and it will have the full panoramic sun roof. Will this come in the gt dual colour?
Planning to bring Sports with safety pack it home.thanks for review
Good review.
Is it worth buying when the safety is comcern

In India kia seltos is just over 2.5 star..... And in Australia they are claiming 5 start.... How?

the lack of a diesel prevented me from getting one
Diesel is a dying breed and it’s already dead in this segment. If there was a hybrid would you consider it?
@@zerogeewhiz Kia do offer the diesel engine in their local market ....and diesel is far from dead !
