This was a amazing fight. Bakugo is so careful against Uraraka because he acknowledges her power. When he shot that huge blast, it is clear that he had to use one of his strongest moves at the moment or else he would've lost. It's really ridiculous how the other heroes shout at Bakugou for fighting. When have you seen a true villain have mercy. Maybe he's not a villain, but those fights are also supposed to teach students about a fight with a villain.
Yeah, and if Ochako came to UA, it' not to be pretty and fragile, it's to become a hero, to fight, to prove her value. Not to be spared because "she's not as capable as the males students". If that were the case, there wouldn't be any female hero. This is also a nonsense : were they upset at Tokoyami for beating Momo ? No, so why Bakugou is treated like a piece of shit ? Heros fight, so he fight. And Uraraka has to fight too. Idk what's up with the other heroes, but wow, even Denki could be cleverer.

I hated the part where the crowed booed at Bakugou for going hard at Uraraka. Like- If he was fighting a villain would he have to go easy on them because they happen to be a girl? NO! He'd beat their ass either way. So thank god Bakugou did't go easy, it explains his respect he has for who he's fighting
I think the crowd booed on purpose to prove a point. The crowd was made to represent watchers/readers/IRL general public. Meanwhile, Bakugo was the author's voice. Basically, it was done so that the author could send a message across about girls being strong too, and that sexism is bullshit
Exactly and the same goes for Uraraka. A villain won't go easy on her just because she's a girl, and she has to be able to keep up. Such a great message, I haven't read the manga so I hope Uraraka has other moments to shine.
@@Khonsu_Sunflowers This. Deserved a lot of likes! Thanks for your comment. I love what you just said. I remember reading some people saying about her being childish, annoying, and clingy. I don't find any of those at all. I really like her a lot because of her bright personality and positive attitude, she always admired Deku and looked up to him. She realised her feelings towards Deku but she puts it aside and focuses on being a hero. I like it when she gets serious in fighting too. I used to hate bakugou personality but after this episode, I really respect him for not calling Uraraka weak. Season 3 made me love his character even more, I love his character development.
As a girl I actually love this scene, I hate when girls are underestimated and I hate it when boys are treated like bullies when they fight back. If people really want women to be equal to men we can't put handicaps on them.
Yes, like I was so mad at the audience then they are "pros" if they are then they shouldn't do the booing and just shut their mouths and watch. I literally was about to scream when present mic was going to start on it too but I was so glad Aizawa stopped him and shut the audience.
If your mad at Bakugou for how he fought then think of it this way. If he went easy on her then it shows that he doesn't take her as a threat. He knew what she could have done so going easy would have cost him the match and show lots of disrespect.

Still one of my favourite episodes. Let me rant for a minute here. Bakugo: -Took her seriously as an opponent from the beginning. When she said "withdrawing isn't an option", he accepts that as someone who's ready to fight with everything they have, and treats it as such from the start. -Knew her quirk. Seriously, in the Cavalry battle they Just went through he said to half his classmates "I don't know your quirks". He went against her in the 1st round, which means he didn't watch a previous fight to see & judge it. He remembered it probably from their first mock training together. (He remembers her power from all the way back then & you can't convince me otherwise. He's an @ssh0le but he's not stupid.) -Was impressed by Uraraka. When he gets excited after she forced him to use a massive amount of strength, that's eagerness to fight an opponent he sees as worthy, someone who's going to give him a good fight. -When she dropped but kept crawling, he put his guard back up. (ya girl is dragging herself on the ground, barely conscious, and he's on guard. He's wary of her at that point. That speaks volumes about just how far she pushed him with that meteor shower, which he even acknowledges when he gets back to his seat. "There's a limit to my power too." / "What about her was fragile?") -Knows her by name. Even Todoroki he calls "Half-and-Half" & Bakugo knows and recognizes how strong he is. But he doesn't acknowledge him as his opponent with the respect that comes from using his name. Bakugo is my favourite bnha character and I will scream from the rooftops about how the first character he shows real respect for is a bubbly cute girl who knows how strong he is & takes him on anyway. I l o v e i t.
THIS IS E X A C T L Y WHAT I WANTED TO SAY. I LUV HIM FOR RESPECTING HER AND TREATING HER FAIRLY, literally everybody, including izuku, was spouting nonsense. that “she’s a girl, how could u do that?” or “there’s too much difference in ur strength and power, aren’t u being too cruel?” bullshit pissed me off 😐 only bakugou and aizawa acknowledge uraraka’s strength and didn’t ridicule/pity her
@@yananananananana Deku didn't say that he was just visibly concerned that she'd take too much damage and she did take a considerable amount of damage or that's what I think. She drove herself to the limit though and I think we all saw that.
It low-key makes me sad to watch Uraraka fall to the ground with exhaustion, trying to cling on to her energy but she's already gone way past her limit. The feeling of working so hard for it all to be for nothing is really crushing.
I live both characters. As the fight went on I found myself rooting for Uraraka cause I'm a sucker for the underdog story. But I was hoping bakugo would win cause that would make the story less cliche. Idk if that makes sense lol
Yes I agree I actually think this did it quite well for both directions bc uraraka surprised everyone with the falliing rocks but it was realistic for bakugo to put his all in an explosion to eviscerate them
The girls power is actually insane. She doesn't need to touch no hero. She can fight with a 100ton hammer. Make the hammer light then cancel out her power when she is about to hit them.
@SleepyWolf Weight is the result of gravity. If something is unaffected by gravity then it doesn't have weight. That's why I said she could move those 100 tons.
I feel Neji vs Hinata here. Eventhough I feel bad for Neji, Cause there's no need to hold back when you're fighting a girl or a guy, because the one whom you're fighting is your opponent, gender doesn't matter at all
@@assyrianprincess3 Except Neji did not go "overkill" on her, not before Hinata called him out for being a hypocrite and being the actual one hurting. And when that happened, he was stopped before he could even lay a hand on her. Hinata was badly hurt because she insisted on continuing the fight even after being disabled and getting up (despite getting told it would endanger her life) after getting hit with the Gentle Fist. Part of this can be attributed to Naruto cheering her on. Bakugo also didn't seem to be going easy on Uraraka, on the contrary he seemed to take her seriously.
It may have been mixed with shock and relief. If she pulled through for a bit longer he would have been slower and weaker after the huge blast he had to do
@@booshbush1487 i dont think he was relieved sure the blast strained his arm a bit but he was still more than ready to fight. He wouldnt have been slower cause his legs werent affected and again he wouldve been able to produce his smaller explosions no problem

@@idkwhattonamemyself1373 Read that again, but slowly. Explode her out of bounds. He threw quite a few explosions at her and they did next to nothing to her- the one he fired straight up sent her flying, but not out of the ring. If he hit her with something like that head on? I'd say she'd end up as paste, not pulp. Not to mention that she still kept up with him the whole time until the very end, I don't think this was as one-sided as people think.
Bakugou isn't heartless. If anything, he is misunderstood by so many people. At this moment, he just realized that she was running out of strength and her body had start to give up
I love how he took her seriously. He's one of my fav characters, he's written so well and his character development up until the 5th season is chef's kiss!
Combine Explosions and Gravity, you'll probably have Pain's Almighty Push and Universal Pull. Since it's an Explosion of Gravity, and the other is an Implosion of Gravity.
I’m just gonna appreciate the fact that Ochaco was the first person that Katsuki motha f*ckin’ Bakugo had to use his (no gauntlet) full scale blast on. The only other person he used it on after was f*cking All Might! He never even used it on Deku or even Shoto for that matter! Really loved this fight.
lemon from area 51 but that’s the point, he’s at a total disadvantage cause he wouldn’t be able to see her while shooting his explosives up in the air, plus he’ll be eliminated cause he would had been out of bounce.
It kinda would tho, he would run out of sweat, from dehydration or his arms would hurt to much to keep him on the ground when he is high enough release and she would win

The strength of Momo's quirk is its versatility. Used creatively, it has almost infinite possibilities. Usually, this is way more useful than raw destructive power.
She has the strongest power on the intire anime but they nerfed her. If you think deep about her powers you know she could just remove the gravity and smash her opponents, control molecular matter, create black holes, use telekinesis, controle vibrations, etc...
2:44 this. One of the reasons i stan bakugo is this. You see his position. It means he is ready to attack. He went into that position because she moved. He would NEVER kick someone while they are down, so when she moved, even if she was on the floor, he expected for her to get up and fight. He did NOT let his guard down. He only did when he was announded a winner. 2:49 Not before that. He wanted to win aginst her while she's at her strongest. He always does. Aginst anyone he's fighting for. Because he wants to win even when people give it all, he wants to prove he's the strongest. Sure, he can be a jerk here and there, but he is not an idiot. He is a fair player and everthing he ever earned, he deserved.
Bakugou had his guard up when she was CRAWLING on the floor, on her knees, barely moving towards him. This was a super close fight and it definitely must've been difficult for bakugou, because of his cramping in his wrist. I think that really showed how powerful Uraraka actually is, and it made me smile- Also that scene with her parents was so cute
I think it's really cool how full of genuine respect Bakugou is, even though he has a piss poor way of showing it. Like i absolutely believe his respect is genuine, even as he calls someone an extra he never underestimates someone and gives it his all. Like in that arena he was probably the only one who took Uraraka truly serious, even as he decided he would win. So when Shouto dropped the fight it was just pure disrespect. I gotta say it makes him as a character so much more interesting.
2:14 I will never not feel upset here. The way they used the soundtrack and had the loud, strong violin diminish quickly into the sad piano music- The first time I watched this fight, I was fighting back tears.
This is still one of my favorite fights in the whole show. The respect Uraka gives Bakugo and the respect Bakugo gives Uraka is fucking awesome. It’s well earned for both of them. They both fought without holding back, they fought intelligently, and they fought fiercely. Bakugo ultimately had the more powerful quirk in this situation, but in the end my favorite line from him in this moment was that “she wasn’t weak at all.” Uraka respects that Bakugo is taking her seriously and Bakugo respects her passion for winning the match. This scene to me, is incredibly underrated.
And then people call her useless despite all that she does and says she is “poorly written” she is literally one of the best written characters I have come across
1. She has never won ANY FIGHTS herself DISPITE being a MAIN CHARACTER 2. She always wins when there is another person helping her or a whole fucking team 3.LOSES TO FODDER PPL like Toga. 4. I think it's an important detail that you have cut from the clip. At the beginning of the match Bakugo called Uraraka round face, but near the end he said "time to get serious URARAKA!" which perfectly shows that he has acknowledged her and respects her as an equal rival. A detail I really liked.
I started watching the anime yesterday and I'm loving it, unlike many animes we have, this one doesn't try to diminish one character to make another one look better. In the vast majority of animes, a character like Uraraka would barely endure Bakugo's first attack, but in this anime, although it was clear that she would not win, we can see that there was a concern in making Uraraka show that she is also skilled in fighting one of powerful characters.
Yeah I started two days ago and all I can say that this anime really give the spotlights for the sideliners which the other "anime" can't even do it right and I love this kind of anime imo😁
One of the best fights in the sports festival. The way Uraraka kept hanging on regardless of the vast difference between their physical strength and still managed to figure a strategy shows how strong she is physically and emotionally. And she is the only girl in class who managed to make Bakugou feel threatened on a makeshift battlefield. Bakugou might not be your friendly neighbourhood hero but he respected her and saw her as an equal. This is what a person needs admist a fight, not sympathy but acknowledgement.
What I love about the dynamic of this fight is just how quickly Bakugo recognizes how bad a match up it is He needs to be able to knock her out of the arena, but to do that he'd need to use a full blast, which he can't do because in the off chance he misses Uraraka could use that to touch him. He knows that if her quirk is used on him, he's done for. His explosive quirk would work against him and propel him out of the arena, so he'd be totally screwed. It's essentially why he has to go full defense mode and has to play it so safe. One wrong move and he instantly loses.
In some ways, this was a harder fight for him than Kirishima or Tokoyami. In those, it worked to his advantage to go on the offensive, which is more his style anyway. Here, he had to reign himself in and be careful throughout the whole fight.
Uraraka may not have won but she proved at that moment how strong her will was and how strong _she_ was. I was so pissed when everyone were acting as if she's some frail damsel in distress, even after the fight.
It’s sad because after her big attack, Bakugo finally started to treat her like a worthy opponent without realizing that she was totally finished after that even tho she was trying so hard to keep going
This arc was great for Bakugo's character, since it proves that he does respect his classmates, especially Ochaco, Tokoyama and Kirishima, who all give him a run for his money, or at least force him to take some risks
Bakugo would still be able to maneuver himself around with his explosions even after ochaco touches him and uses her antigravity quirk. Bakugo will still have the upper hand no matter what tricks uraraka has up her sleeve.
Ok many people seem to believe this but it would actually be impossible for him to get them all accurate if uraraka touched him and he tried to control himself with his explosions then he would go straight out of the ring and lose Bakuhoe has the *tallest brain in da world*(my opinion)

This is the fight where you can you tell that Uraraka has HUGE potential as a hero. If she gets better control of her power and earns some experience in battle she could become one of the big shots.
I never really liked uraraka before this episode, I saw her as just another dumb love interest for deku (especially with her hero suit) but this episode really showed how dedicated she was to help her family, and I really like that because most shows would have had the guy go easy on her especially in an anime but uraraka kept going and that really made me love her.

Still one of my favourite episodes. Let me rant for a minute here. Bakugo:
-Took her seriously as an opponent from the beginning.
He's an @ssh0le but he's not stupid.)
-Was impressed by Uraraka.
"There's a limit to my power too." / "What about her was fragile?")
-Knows her by name.

I think that really showed how powerful Uraraka actually is, and it made me smile-
Also that scene with her parents was so cute
I think it's really cool how full of genuine respect Bakugou is, even though he has a piss poor way of showing it. Like i absolutely believe his respect is genuine, even as he calls someone an extra he never underestimates someone and gives it his all. Like in that arena he was probably the only one who took Uraraka truly serious, even as he decided he would win. So when Shouto dropped the fight it was just pure disrespect.
What I love about the dynamic of this fight is just how quickly Bakugo recognizes how bad a match up it is
He needs to be able to knock her out of the arena, but to do that he'd need to use a full blast, which he can't do because in the off chance he misses Uraraka could use that to touch him.

I feel so bad for her. Uraraka was so dedicated. All to lose. I genuinely felt her overwhelming sadness knowing she lost.
Great for Uraraka, even with so unequal quirks she managed to give Bakugo a sprained wrist
Bakugo would still be able to maneuver himself around with his explosions even after ochaco touches him and uses her antigravity quirk. Bakugo will still have the upper hand no matter what tricks uraraka has up her sleeve.

Ok many people seem to believe this but it would actually be impossible for him to get them all accurate if uraraka touched him and he tried to control himself with his explosions then he would go straight out of the ring and lose

@@dilfuzanormatova9365 That's because you lack any kind of creativity and only think in terms of pure power.
The fact that the only people who truly acknowledged her were Bakugo and Monoma 💀💀
After watching the darkest episode, i realise if ochaco has such mobility like Toga, she will be strong as hell
@SEN-NoVa They got speed, but Uraraka has practically infinite stamina
@@ZenoDLC how? is it part of her quirk?
@@Flappy_Aracnae Don't assume something u haven't seen...or u never will

Implying that she becomes relevant, spoiler alert this is the peak of her character
She was squaring up to the moment she passed out
At this moment I started to really love Bakugo
Why
@@CyberrIsEpik Because he’s awesome
@@aeniverse4 no
@@CyberrIsEpik yes
@@aeniverse4 I dont even like mha anymore bakugo is the worst character I've ever seen but go off
We all knew she wasn't gonna win but damn it was a good fight 😭 when I saw her leg flinch I knew she was done 😭
Same. I knew she was strong willed even before i saw this, but this really brought her out and i love it. She's my best girl now
Bakugou she's still not dead
Me: gurl whats that supposed to mean like tf
He means that he did not come to play he came to win
I wanted Ururaka to win so badly, but I could tell she was going to lose. She didn’t pace herself which is how she got tired out. She’s really come a long way in season 5
How the hell was she supposed to win???
@@RandomPerson-gf6gd
I said I WANTED her to win. Didn’t say she would. And I mean, it wasn’t like it would have been completely impossible for Ururaka to beat Bakugo, but she just didn’t count on Bakugo catching onto her big surprise attack.
@@aaromotivestudio3869 it would have been completely impossible if he was trying

Honestly despite her loosing her as an character really peaked in the earlier seasons it’s really ashamed what direction they took her character smh I love her still
"I'm gonna win!" As she gets her shit caved in lmao
At least she stronger than u
@@random-bq2nb I mean, of course she is, she has a literal super power. But I'm saying it was sad that she said she was gonna "win" but lost instead. Don't get all worked up over a digital character.

we stan ochako for her determination ability and strength.
we stan kacchan for acknowledging her strength and considering her an equal.
we stan aizawa for silencing those sexist comments and supporting his capable female student.
Damn 2020 be standing trash and a screaming rat these days..rat acknowledging trash was PURE plot armor
0:05 lol his face...

I feel bad for Bakugou sometimes like people just don’t like him lol I think he feels the constant need to be better and stronger at every second of the day like when he literally got kidnapped and felt guilty about all might his mom said if he was stronger it wouldn’t have happened and she also calls him weak so he does have some reason behind y he’s the way he is
First of all now is not the time to feel bad for bakugo, and Mitsuki said he was too prideful and self assured, not weak. So maybe stop using au’s as reasoning for someone to be a bully and a straight up jerk for half the series. :P
@@_missingposter1599 I never said it was ok for him to be a bully idc if u like him or not but I will feel bad for him bc he genuinely doesn’t Talk about how he feels and is pent up and he knows bullying deku was wrong he is insecure and really doesn’t think he’s good enough the way I see it
Kaachan just struggles to express himself verbally , and it’s not easy when you’re not use to doing so in the first place.

Bakugo rlly said 'equal rights , equal fights'

What the h e l l 😭😭😭😭😭
No one's talking about just how tough this fight looked for Bakugo. He was actively struggling and even stressing in some cases. And we can see from Uraraka's perspective that he was still ready to keep going if she got back up. he never once let his guard down until that match was called. He had hella respect for in this fight and actually acknowledged what she was capable of, unlike literally everyone else there besides Aizawa.
This fight made me cry only because of Uraraka’s short backstory scene and how she still pushed herself to win.
