The first time you see him, he's a very cold person, then you realized he's just a traumatized child that was horribly abused, and he doesn't know how to interract with other. But then he start making friend, being more open, being accepted and even liked. And in that last frame you see he genuinely feels good about it, he has been a long way since the first season.
