Depends on your field. Smart employers want to make sure that you know what you are doing. Most college degrees show that you have wasted a lot of your time and money on the subjects that have zero correlation to your career. Certifications show that you know what you are doing and show that you decided not to waste time or money.

I find that companies like certifications. Especially due to companies needing certified people to meet a partnership requirement. AWS and CCNA for instance. A job with AWS could land someone a a very handsome job and get this.... practically zero debt. Does anyone know how much a masters degree in computer science from a decent school would set someone back?

I can tell you that a degree is largely a waste of money, you won’t learn any CS until your 4th year and even the classes don’t teach much. Can buy the same book for a fraction of the cost. College is only good for meeting people as companies often recruit out of universities in there area. I did certification got a sponsor and security clearance all without a worthless degree. Go to college if you want to be a lawyer, doctor, or engineer. You literally leave with no experience it’s only a measure of perseverance. Follow the college model and you’ll be broke for the remainder of your life and dependent upon a job you hate just to live while you pay off your debt until you actually start making money. Keep that 200k+ to invest in yourself or business ideas. Colleges spend all their money on their over bloated administration staff which increase by 50% in recent times and not recruiting great professors that actually care. You’re literally better off going to a company you really want to work at then go there everyday, persistence is the key they’re going to say no a lot but keep coming back they’ll respect you and it shows more than a resume ever will on your character and tenacity to get a job. You can also go to your neighbors particularly a wealthy one and ask to chat and if they could help you find a job. Works every time in fact the job I got I showed up to everyday to talk to the boss and was met with a hard No each time but I kept coming back. On the last day i went in again and asked the same thing as all previous times and this time she said “you know what wait here” before I know it I’m in his office. I slide him my resume as he l finished looking it over he says “you’ve been showing up here everyday to talk to me and I’m running a 20 million dollar company” pause of silence. “I like that shit” got the job. Coolest thing that ever happened to me

I would recommend the OSCP over the CEH. The CEH, at least from the United States perspective, holds less value as the answers are "online" (Don't quote me on that - but they are more memorization-base). Whereas the OSCP is all about hands-on. I would recommend the OSCP over the CEH any day. If you already have the CEH, then that's great, but consider other options before the CEH.
