    You STATED 2 VERY KEY POINTS because I'm experiencing it
    1. The amount of certs available. You have to do your due diligence and sometimes you'll complete a cert and it'll be a waste of money and time.
    2. Having that actual hands-on experience matters more, certs can only go so far. So yeah its way harder to land a job.
    Thanks for your videos.

    with college vs certifications/boot camps it also depends on the effort the individual puts in.

    Imagine if you had both degree (at least a bachelor’s degree) and certs? That’s a win for sure, can’t go wrong with that.

    A lot of employers will pay for your certs or in my experience with DOD there's always some old dude that knows about all the vouchers.

    Thank you for this valuable information. I’m currently a QA analyst at a local government non-profit and have no college education. I’m looking to move up and it looks like a cert would do combined with my current experience! Thanks again!

      Let’s see a video of you working in a Spanish speaking country. I would think that’s in high demand with your skills.

    Great information! I’m happy I came across your channel ! I don’t have a college degree but I’m looking to get my Comp Tia Security Plus Certification and work in cyber security. I didn’t know certs expire.

    • @certifiedcurls
      @certifiedcurls  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yes! I'm glad you found my channel. For example security plus you need to renew every 3 years but each year you have to pay maintenance fees and also submit the required amount of continuing education credits every 3 years

      @ronaldgibsoniii4015 ปีที่แล้ว

      She’s right. But also if you take a higher level comptia cert (or a completely different cert that comptia accepts as higher) then all “lower” certs are auto renewed if you pass the “higher” cert’s test

    Wisdom is doing things with minimal work yet yielding greater results . So in my experience working it’s who you know and not really what you know . Even if I didn’t know anyone in a field I’m going for I would pare an associates degree with a certificate mostly so I can stay up to date with any changes in my field of interest combined with internships . Yes this may come with a little down side at first if you don’t know anyone but at some stage with experience you will climb to the top . With just a CDLs I was offered a job making one-thousand a year . This new generation doesn’t won’t to put the time in just throw money at the problem .

    I’m definitely debating school vs carts/boot camps. I did research but still on the fence. What would you recommend from your experience?

    • @ronaldgibsoniii4015
      @ronaldgibsoniii4015 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Do both! I’m 18 and self driven so I never saw the point in school. What I will say is that even if you don’t learn useful stuff in school, you will get a very big network. You just have to talk to people. This network is enough to get your foot into the door. Not only that, but schools work with companies to get you internships with the best companies for you. Get certs at the same time as you’re in school. Go to school to network, get internships, and study on your own for certs. If you do all three, you’ll be WAY more marketable than anyone with either a degree or a cert.

    • @ronaldgibsoniii4015
      @ronaldgibsoniii4015 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also I’m in school right now, have meet some of the best minds in the cybersecurity space, have an internship, and have a plan laid out for myself to study for certs. That’s why I’m able to give you this advice

    • @ronaldgibsoniii4015
      @ronaldgibsoniii4015 ปีที่แล้ว

      And like she said in the video, I’m catering my certifications to what I want to do in the future

    Does that mean nobody is impressed when I put all my entry level certs on my email signature?
