In my opinion, GT4 intro really gives you the feeling that I was about to drive in the most epic race of all time... the orchestral music, those slow-motion shots of the Ford GT... everything is perfect. And the game? Just awesome, with all the pros and cons.
I will never ever think gt4 intro wasn't awesome, the orchestra with the panning shots of, the spinning camera around the ford gt as with changing seasons, then to jump into Panama was so cool
imo GT4 was the peak of the series. Not that the other games are bad (far from it! I enjoyed GT6 a ton) but in comparison to GT4, nothing has been able to top it.
I was 8, got a paper route in the summer to get a ps2. Eventually got it and it came with Gran Turismo 4. Young me already loved cars so this was a match made in heaven, I definitely feel the nostalgia hard looking at the world map.

18 years ago I walked into a video rental store and picked up Crash Team Racing for PS2.. and the disk was scratched. Didn't work in my PS2. So I went back.. and there was GT4 freshly released. The shots of the Ford GT on the minimal white background must of got to me. I picked it up with my dad to rent, and finished the B license that night completely in awe of the game, the music, the descriptions in all the dealerships that scrolled along. I couldn't stop thinking about it for weeks until my 5th birthday, when my granddad handed the game to me I was so happy to see it again. That was the start of my obsession with not only GT but cars as a whole. I can say I wouldn't be me without this incredible series.
When the C4 Corvette was confirmed in GT7, I suddenly remembered it was the first car I ever drove in Gran Turismo franchise in 1998. That car has a special place in my heart. Along with that red Oreca Viper from Gran Turismo 3 and Alfa Romeo 156 from GT3 and GT4, which started my near endless love and appreciation to Alfa Romeo. This video made me feel pretty sentimental, hence the essay

GT5 was good. GT6 I found a bit meh, I think its because at the time PD where more focused on Next Gen with PS4. They where reaching the limits on what the PS3 could do as well.

7 is lacking content so far but it's forgivable and the campaign is a little too short for my liking. But the cars in this game handle so well that I don't care about that very much. Nostalgia factor and the handling make this the best gran turismo yet. But my favorite is still GT4.

GT1,2,3 had a very different look and feel to it compared to what we have today. While later games have this elegant, clean look to it, older ones were more... industrial? orange was the dominating color of most of the ui elements, so thats why it looks and feels different from 4 and upwards
Yeah I like the old ones but honestly I prefer the more mature and elegant style of the newer games. Sometimes I would just sit there at the main menu in GT5 and chill listening to the music.
The game is not perfect, but it feels so good to finally have a game worthy of being a sequel to GT4. And we have yet to receive any post-launch content like cars or tracks. Even the reworked tracks feel as they should. Would I like classic versions? Absolutely, but the new ones still flow fantastically well

Gran Turismo A-Spec was the best. It was actually the second Gran Turismo that I've ever played. But, I did play the first game and I love the Skyline. It's my favorite car to this day. (and it sucks how it's actually illegal to own one)
