    "we are in the middle of nowhere on planet Mars" --> that´s what I´d love to feel, to feel the planet beneath my feet (and wheels)
    when you point out the mountains ahead I just felt like stand off the saddle and smash the cranks, speeding forward, attracted to the mountains like a spasceship into a blackhole.
    background music so subtle, so catchy, building up with video: excellent!
    I have enjoyed it SO MUCH! Thank you so much for taking me out tonight and seeding those beautiful landscapes in my mind... hopefully some day will do my Pamir!
    wish you best of lucks on your new adventure, and keep sharing this inspiring videos!

    Completely other worldly and inspirational. I am SO cycling this much dreamed about destination... its literally 20 years i have had it on my list, so thanks for your advice and brilliant photographic eye. I just need to wait for cycling crazy son to reach 10 years before we tackle this. (This trip has prepared you well for the extraordinary pass climbing of Northern India - you will love it there...cant wait to see the films you will make about it one day soon ) Thank you B& T!!

      Nothing but love for your comment, thank you! One day soon we will tackle India, and I hope that when you get a chance at the Pamir Highway, the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will have reopened as it is currently closed. Fingers crossed!

      We just love the lifestyle! I think it’s great for many people to do a bike tour once a year. Really teaches one stuff about nature, people and feeling vulnerable. Good for personality building!

      Cycled the Pamir Highway! You can find a lot of guides for this route on the internet - bikepacking.com might have some good articles on it as well. I hope you can make it, it’s absolutely worth cycling there :)

    I looked at the Pamir hotel in Murgab when you mentioned it the first time and I've shown my gf a photo of a table with food and nice bread. Then I went on with the video and I've realised the photo on gmap is actually yours 😃

    From Kyrgyz lang Ak Baital means White Stallion. Toponyms in Pamir mostly in Kyrgyz language. Because Kyrgyz people, as a nomads have lived for centuries between Altai and Pamir ranges.

    Wow! Superb vid! Just imagine if she has asthma, what else she can't do if she has already cycled a vast distance. Anyway, how many kilometers on average you cycle everyday?

    • @tristanbogaard
      @tristanbogaard  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      She’s a powerful human being! We cycle as much as we feel like, no real average. One day 10km, the other 70km. All depends!

      The biggest challenge was to carry enough water to last a full day as we never quite knew when then next drinking source would be. On the quietest days, we had about 5 vehicles crossing us a and a couple other cyclists too so... Chances are that if something does happen, you should be able to get help within 24 hours. =)
