      You absolutely deserved it! We really enjoyed Tajikistan and can't wait to come back to the Pamir region.

    Great video! I've been in Middle Asia many times and I'm absolutly agree with your opinion about local people there! They are very kindly and friendly inspite of their povetry.

      That's completely true, you may have seen how scruffy we look most of the time... and those are still the good moments! Central Asia was our toughest journey so far, both mentally and physically. But at the end, we did get really great content and are so happy we did it. 2 more episodes to come!

    Well done Tristan and Belen 😉👍🍺🍷 I've loved watching your Journeys through Central Asia of the 8 series and it's very true how we are here and take things for granted and how we have to protect ourselves in this horrible 21st Century, and yet countries like Asia who have nothing, and yet still share their kindness and hospitality to others who they don't know... 👍🍺🍺🍺🍺

    • @tristanbogaard

      Well said, Wayne! Many of us have forgotten what a luxurious world we've surrounded ourselves with... which isn't necessarily good for the world anyway! Central Asian people live much more primitive, but seemingly happier lives.

      @@tristanbogaard I spent 6 months in Belize in the late 80s when I was in the army, I noticed the farmers were still using cattle to plough the fields, even the villages were like Asia very primitive, but they were all friendly and gave you food and water.. we do live in a very sad world where greed and power seems to rule, and I've recently seen other vids off the same area where you and Belen have rode, and that the road you rode on , will eventually be a highway and holiday resorts, which I feel may harm and push out the people who live there freely in their own land ..

    Hello Tristan, I loved and enjoyed watching this video series. All of your videos are heavily inspiring, you are doing a great job as a photographer and storyteller. I am wondering at what time in the year did you do your Central Asia trip? Max :-)

    • @tristanbogaard
      @tristanbogaard  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Max! We cycled Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in the summer season-July and August. May-September is pretty much the only time you can cycle the Pamir Highway as it is so high up snow sets in quickly!

    Beautifully shot film, but you warn of the perils of mass tourism and yet publish this film which will inevitably attract visitors and money to the area. These people live a simple, but basic life. I am sure they would jump at the chance of living in Europe or North America with all the comfort, education, health care, opportunities and security this would bring them. You only need an internet connection to have a virtual life on social media or a YT channel to make money. Of course it needs to be reliable and fast and free of censorship. The world is now a small place.

    • @tristanbogaard
      @tristanbogaard  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, that's the double side of it all! My hope is that we inspire people to go there, and when they do, to respect the place and treat it in the right way. I also hope the locals won't start milking tourism and destroying their beautiful country in the process.

    Be careful to not report in patronizing way. Cultural imperialism is exactly what this region doesn't need.
