    Absolutely fantastic series of films, it’s sad that we in Europe and the West look on the people of these areas with distain, they may not have an existence based on monetarily and materialistic things, what the have in spades is priceless, they have kindness and as you have witnessed you can’t put a value on this, well done both of you.......inspirational....thoughts from Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

    One of the best bikepacking series here on TH-cam! Very inspiring, incredible drone shots, amazing photos! I think such a trip can also be a challenge for a relationship but it looks so nice and easy with you both. Looking forward to see more content from you both.

    Tristan and B, what a GREAT video series. It brings HOPE to a world in chaos by showing the generosity of people. It proves that we can all live in harmony and peace. I share your videos with everyone. Both of you are ambassadors of bicycling and harmony. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. THANK YOU!

    Tristan, I’m impressed and completely amazed about your work, your passion and your talent. It’s the best content I ever found about bicycle touring. I’m just about to start the Pamir and although I follow you and Belen for a while, only now I could watch everything you did! And it’s the perfect timing! Congrats dude! I hope I can meet you guy on the road some day! Thanks for the inspiration!

    Thank You for this excellent journey through Southeast Asia. I have enjoyed all 10 episodes several times. The truth is, the purpose of a bicycle journey is not he pursuit of perfection, it is the pursuit of pursuit. That is why I ride.

    I followed your journey guys, it was amazing how you managed details of feelings, showing how the people treated, offering supplies, attention, being very sympathetic, from both sides , you all and them. Beautiful landscapes, etc. See you next time, we're anxious, keep cycling. Buddies

    Hey Tristan, I finished watching this series the other night - the perfect daily unwind between coronavirus TV news and a good night's sleep!!! It was real sad to finish. Amazing adventure, stunning drone footage (so worth carrying that), great stills & captions, cultural/ community insights, and beautifully put together. Thanks! And hope you're both coping with confinement - the total opposite of all you've shared :(

      Your words mean a lot to me right now! Absolutely, we can’t wait to get back on the bicycle. Wilderness and foreign countries are far away from us, and we probably won’t have the pleasure of cycling in those places anytime soon. But, there’s always a place to cycle in closer to home! So soon I’ll be uploading again :)

    Wat een moois slot van een prachtige reis door een van de mooiste ongerepte natuurregio’s van Centraal Azie. Toch blijven er nog zoveel vragen over, maar dat is juist hetgeen dat mij overtuigd om dit te gaan doen. En uit te gaan zoeken of dit nog mogelijk is voor een avontuurlijke 43 jarige. Dankjewel voor een prachtige reis die ik met jullie mocht “meefietsen”.

    Thank you for these videos and sharing your awesome journey with us. Beautiful places, amazing people, and two travelers with a really big heart. I have also an adopted dog, he is 10 years old now. I’ve just bought my first gravel bike (a Sequoia), and I hope one day I can go to similar adventures like you. You are truly inspiring people. Waiting for the videos of your next journey. Keep riding! Love from Hungary.

    That was an excellent series! I'm sad it had to end. I made the mistake of watching a Vice news segment about how, the kyrgz men, kidnap their wives. It kinda took the shine off your wonderfully, wanderlust inspiring series. Still, I'm heading to do a portion next year! Mostly due to your efforts in presenting it.

    • @tristanbogaard
      @tristanbogaard  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally with you on that, David. Like all countries (much like in Europe, America and other 'first world' places) there are things to improve. Where we allow mass slaughter of sentient beings that have done nothing but give love, Kyrgyz men (and the families) allow the kidnapping of brides. Some Asians burn dogs alive and some American school kids decide to shoot their class to a pulp. Those things fortunately, are just a tiny percentage of society blown up by media outlets. Once we focus on the good in people, these situations become almost invisible and as long as we work towards erasing them by acquiring our own honest practices that do not harm others, I think we're all on the right path :)
      Go to Kyrgyzstan, it's beautiful out there!

    I plan to go without wild camping. Are there adequate accommodation along the road?

    • @tristanbogaard
      @tristanbogaard  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Without wild camping you’ll have to plan your days rather carefully! But I think you could manage to find accommodation every night as long as you’re prepared to cycle large distances.

    • @tristanbogaard
      @tristanbogaard  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! It took us approximately a week the other way around, but depending on your route (north or south) and since you’re cycling up instead of down the mountains, I’d take at least 10 days!

    How many kilometers total of your journey?
    Is it in Strava or any else?

    • @tristanbogaard
      @tristanbogaard  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The whole Pamir Highway; 1200km. The entire Central Asia route; about 2000! We were pretty much offline the entire journey so it's not on Strava...

    • @FadilAziz71
      @FadilAziz71 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      So that's what you cover in two months. Awesome, not to mention the elevation gain; it must be even more staggering. How we could develop such a route for our own? Is it available somewhere else? I think some people may have (slightly) different route although in the same Pamir?

    • @tristanbogaard
      @tristanbogaard  ปีที่แล้ว

      Put yourself in a place like that, experience it by bike for weeks on end, and then tell me your honest opinion. Until then, you don’t have a clue what continuous exposure to bad roads does to your mind in such moments.
      Nevertheless, I learned from my own mistakes and have since adapted my style to not interfere with opinions in the moment. Instead, we only reflect on trips after they’ve happened to make sure temporary emotions don’t disturb the production. Thanks for the feedback.
