Good control of that shakey looking oak. One night back in the early seventies the softwood mill that I worked at in southern BC we were sawing Red Cedar. The sawyer loaded the carriage with a five foot log about 24 feet long. He made a slab pass then a 2 inch pass and reveresed the carriage and turned the log to the opposite face. He hit the log a little too hard with the log turner and the cedar log fell apart to reveal a dead black bear about 3 years old. We figured that the bear crawled into the end of the log that was punked out and died for whatever reason. The sawyer and myself used two picaroons to pu;t the bear to the front of the carriage where the sweeper pushed the bear down the hole to send it to the burner.
Thank you for your comment. Sandalwood is often planted in schoolyards in Japan. In that case, for example, a nail may be hammered when the rope is stretched at an athletic meet. I don't know where this tree stood, but I imagine it was in that situation. It's fun to imagine the life of this tree from the cross section of the tree. The continuation is scheduled to be lumbered tomorrow. I think the video will be uploaded tomorrow. Look forward to it☆(*^_^*)
Thank you for your comment. (*^_^*) One of the characteristics of Chinaberry is its vivid color, but the intensity varies depending on the tree. Older trees tend to be darker. The log this time is old, but it has a color like this because it contained a lot of water. The color will fade during the drying process, but the vivid color will be restored if it is ground again when it is made into a product.

I am amazed that these guys don't care if they lose a hand or not, I don't know what country this is but they must get compensated very good if they lose a limb, or get disabled they don't use any safety precautions whatsoever!!!!!
Evidently, they do care about their safety, I bet they have been doing it this way all their lives & still have all their digits. They seem very methodical and conscious of their actions. Don't be so scared & critical. If you lived there, you'd probably be doing it the very same way.
I now see why a vertical bandsaw sawmill is such a bad (really, really bad) idea. Where are the other workers? What is the mortality rate for people cut by the unguarded running blade?
Thank you for your comment. (*^_^*) Sorry for worrying you. Now I'm doing a small job with only two couples. We have been using this method for nearly half a century, but there have been no major accidents. We will continue to do our best to drive safely.
Grazie per il tuo commento. (*^_^*) È un albero interessante, ma mi dispiace di essere un pessimo fotografo. Farò del mio meglio per renderlo più piacevole per tutti!
If these guys don't keep their hands away from the saw blade I am not going to feel bad for them when they lose a hand!! It will be their own fault, are they really this stupid!!!!!

That's a very good video with those two gentlemen, you guys just need to work more safe, a young strong hand is required here gentlemen.
สุดยอด เก่งมากค่ะ เครื่องมืออุปกรณ์ทันสมัยมากเลย ทุนแรงได้มาก สองคนทำได้สบาย
What a story it would be to know how that piece of metal got in there? Also, not good for the saw blade. Will we get a part 2 to see the final cuts?
Thank you for your comment.

Very beautiful grain in that tree, and the color is amazing.

The grain on this sandalwood it's unbelievable, every piece that is cut the grain is not the same
This sandalwood is drop dead georgous!
How can we buy a piece of your wood? I'm in the US.
I can't believe how dangerous working around that set up is! OSHA here in the states would outright ban that work environment! Brave people indeed!
Brave or stupid?

And what are those 2 doing with their hands so close to that moving blade ? Just let it fall !
One slip as he returns back to the saw controls and its a Darwin Award for sure.

Hey, we want to see subsequent slabs cut off, revealing those rotten hole spots......
When is part 2???
Waww kayu Cendana, kayu mahal harganya 👍👍👍
Those plastic safety hats are a joke around that band saw blade!!

Ok that is the most dull chainsaw I have ever heard run in my life
Están muy lentos , mucho tiempo y no cortan nada y al de el casco rojo un fía ka sierra le va a cortar u a. M ano
Pencil sharpeners throw bigger ribbons
What professional uses a saw that so dull you can't sharpen a pencil
My sander would cut cleaner and quicker than that saw
My sander throws less sawdust. You're not an arborist you're a hacker meaning you're terrible at your job
