    Good video Mike, and yes if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. And don’t excuse your self for the workshop, that’s the way they should look. Nice to hang out with you.

    I'm relatively New too. I haven't called yet as I'm broke but I still want some tuning from your Ohio buddy that likes gamo.
    I got lucky, I paid $63 new restock for a big cat 1400. I also have a crosman summit ranger. I like the crosman summit more, easier to shoot well but both are tack drivers. I'm new plus debilitating psoriatic arthritis so working on them is slim to none.
    The 125 is one of THE guns for me (I'd love a 54 or 350 ntec etc but I have to save up for a long time for the 125 so an air king isn't likely lol). Since I am on borrowed time I picked it up as a hobby as I cannot play guitar much now. (im an sg guy but lp and strat too).
    I have gear I need to sell too...an sg special (Gibson not epi) etc....
    Anyway good to see some honor still around!
    Are there any 125s that are less prone to issues? It's going to be another 4 months of saving money for the thing anyway.... I just love powerful airguns and that's outside my range but I'm getting it regardless..... weihrauch etc are way outside of my meager means or I'd go air king 22 and just love that to death lol.

      can you handle a 125 sniper, what cal were you thinking of.
      what color is the sg special and what would you sell it for

      Mike Ellingsworth** Mr Stepping Stone***
      Yeah I can shoot fine I just have poor finger dexterity. I'm a big guy too at 6,2 250.
      I'm not set on price but off the cuff $600 . Not sure what I'd ship it in though as I only have gig bags atmo. I'd definitely want to get it out in one piece lol.
      Thanks Mike

    • @diesect33
      @diesect33 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike Ellingsworth** Mr Stepping Stone*** sorry, I'm off my game tonight lol. It's black. A great player and extremely lightweight even for an sg. Very bid sounding as it's a very resonant piece. My other one's a good bit heavier. If it weren't a limited run I'd sell the other lol.
      It was my go to guitar for 7 years.

    That why I want to learn how to do this stuff . Other people just don't care . What is the reason to put the red grease on the spring and what is the correct way to put it on or does it matter ? If you have a video of you doing this just put a link to it so I can watch you do it . Thanks .

    Hullo Mike, I’ve read that if you apply Air Venturi Tune in a Lube lubricant on the spring it really helps to reduce recoil kick and makes shooting smoother. What are your thoughs on this? Regards

    • @MrSteppingstone888
      @MrSteppingstone888  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      well recoil won't change , but a nice custom made spring guide & top hat helps with smoothing that springs duty cycle. tune in lube LOL a gun may feel better just because its over lubed compared to the gun that has had bare minimum in it.
      all about a quick buck

    Hey mike great job showing a new guy into the sport just how us air gunners are! I try to pass along to the newcomer if I can. Say the red lube you've been using, can you tell me more on how its working out for you? I'm always looking for new methods other than moly and black tar

    • @MrSteppingstone888
      @MrSteppingstone888  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just started to use it in the air chamber now and for the rest of the rifle including the spring. my friends been using something similar its red its high temp and high pressure extreme duty like mine. he has yet to have any issues and I think he been using it over a year now maybe two.
      I was so old school I could not see out of the box yet I always think out of the box except when it came to the lubing of the springer.
      lol , thanks to a fellow air gunner who used the krytox it made me realize it does not have to be cross hatched and molly burnished.
      I never use that black tar I will used euro lube by jm air rifle head quarters if that but I been using the red lube exclusively to dampen the dry spring otherwise you'll get cross contamination possibly into the trigger/ I nevr use the factory spring guide on some ones gun I change the spring & make a custom fit guide etc

    • @andrewavellino6427
      @andrewavellino6427 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike Ellingsworth** Mr Stepping Stone*** I can never find custom guides anywhere or don't know anyone that can make them. Do tight fitting guides really make a difference?

    • @MrSteppingstone888
      @MrSteppingstone888  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      depends on what gun, if a rifle is accurate to begin with then the custom fitting guide will just make the guns shot cycle smoother because the spring is properly arrested after the shot
      weihrauch 95 is accurate rifle the custom guide and spring and proper lube will just make the rifle feel alot better when shot its really nice
      a big hatsan will still have piston slam but a custom guide will help ,
      I make custom guides & top hat but I need the new spring and piston unless I have the same piston out on the bench/ 55.00 shipped for custom fited guide and top hat

    I was going to get this rifle, tomorrow morning. They say, these are the best break barrels outthere. Should I go for it or not? Go for the deluxe version of this, or choose something else? its sitting in my living room in the box, have not opened it yet. its a Ruger inpact .22 I heard good things about them and grabbed one refurb for 95.00 shipped off ebay.
      if you have a gun you can't work on I be buying a cheap one the chinese make solid guns and usually have good lubrication in them to last a good while, I heard these were accurate and even had a crowned barrel so I grabbed one for myself to see , the stock looks kind of cool has different dimensions and its a light grab and go so when you get a lot older it wont need to be sold because of being to heavy

    • @MrSteppingstone888
      @MrSteppingstone888  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not. did not know they were available in .25
      power level would be low for that caliber unless it still suits your needs, everyone has different wants in power & purpose

    • @harryzero1566
      @harryzero1566 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrSteppingstone888 good point, I have this model, and .25 would not be appropriate unless you could beef up the power. A great air rifle to shoot though.
      I always do a comparison with shot from a shotgun, any shot (for flying game) with a greater mass than a .22 pellet would be excessive, so .25 (for static targets) would be more appropriate for precision FAC airguns.
      An additional counter argument, if you have to have an FAC certificate, to have a precision FAC rifle, which by definition requires some serious engineering and hefty price attached, you might just as well have a live fire rifle.
      A 16ftlb none licensed threshold would allow a viable .25 in an alternative lighter alloy pellet perhaps.
