I watched the trailer and my pecs grew pecs, and then I went to Chinatown and scissor-kicked the Yakuza right in the face (it's okay, they were dealing cocaine) right before going to Cambodia and rescuing six Vietnam POWs and killing an entire camp of Red Army commandos with my M60 machine gun and my battle cry of "It's time to replace the ink cartridges in the printer!". Shirtless.

I don't get why a lot of Cynthia's movies don't have her using weapons either. She's like a three time world champion in weapons form (as you can tell when she actually is allowed to use weapons), it's her bread and butter.

I met her at at least 5 martial arts events in Europe (Netherlands, Germany, Etc..) and she was funny, awesome, and goofy..
It's so fun to see other people enjoy this cheeseburger. My uncle was Steven Kerby who played the main villain of this movie. The filming was done in Utah and he was a local small time actor, mainly doing local commercials, among other things. Uncle Steve was a man of many talents and wore many hats during his life. He served with the US Navy, was a law enforcement officer, a biker, a blacksmith, and an actor. He was an amazing man. Thank you so much for featuring this movie.

@Fredy Llanos Yes he was. Uncle Steve was one of a kind. He was a big fan of John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. He was in a number of commercials for local companies, including a lube and oil shop where he played an employee along side a Guy Smiley style Muppet, and a local Ford dealership where he was sitting in a rocking chair that was in the back of a Ford pickup and the truck pulls away with him still in the chair. He was a fan of Harley motorcycles and Ford trucks.
Just looked up Cynthia Rothrock's IMDB page. She's aged like fine wine. And she can still do the martial arts.

I saw Cynthia Rothrock at Caesars Palace in Vegas last summer while I was in line for the buffet. She was really dressed up, I think for some Black Belt Hall of Fame thing. It was awesome! Also the dude with no hand was Sub Zero in Mortal Kombat Anihilation.

Bless that magnificent woman. I was hired to create her demo tape when she started making films in America and her birth date is just hours after mine. I wish her the best on her first film as primary creator and it happens to be a western. David Carradine must be spinning... all due respect.

These films need a blu ray remaster they never had a DVD or blu ray release in UK yet I don't know if US released them.
Blonde Fury getting a blu ray release soon that's a Hong Kong Rothrock flick.
I recommend Sonny Chiba movies Street Fighter trilogy there batshit insane.
Very recently Eureka! Entertainment released both _China O’Brien_ movies on Blu-Ray and 4K Ultra HD. The sets are currently Limited Edition.

That being said, it goes without saying that Richard Norton is the most underrated character actor in the action B movie canon. The man is 73 years Young and is the poster child for martial arts and fitness training being a virtual Fountain of Youth.
More Richard Norton material please.

That opening song is mullet rock. I rented so many movies like this growing up, that it's like the memories are all blurred together. Cynthia Rothrock was queen of direct to video action movies.
Cool film. Looking forward to The Last Kumite coming out. Really enjoyed Cynthia Rothrock in her films, especially in Honor and Glory and Yes Madam! with Michelle Yeoh.
Video Suggestion: Has anyone suggest this film yet? It's called Death Cage, but it's also called Bloodfight 2 despite not being a sequel to the first Bloodfight, which starred Bolo Yueng. Death Cage stars Jow Lewis and a very young Robin Shou in his first lead role in Hong Kong Cinema. It has ridiculous fight scenes and covered in Pepsi and Coca Cola advertisements. It also has the Temple that appears in Mortal Kombat 1995, where Shang Tsung killed Chan.
I think I just got a copy of that.
Holy crow! Marshall BraveStarr is played by the same guy who played the human Reptile in Mortal Kombat. Pretty much the best fight scene of that film with the Juno Reactor mix of Control.

I used to LOVE BraveStarr!! Western..in space, genius concept that i've seen done only a couple of times since then.
so this is kinda related in a way but theres a movie called NY ninja and it was being made in the 70s i think? but they ran out of money and stopped making it. they had the whole movie done except the ending but there was NO SOUND. so some people recently bought it and hired B MOVIE ACTORS TO VOICE IT! (if i remember right linea quigley is one of the voices they got for it) they also added other sounds so they could make this movie whole. they did a good job reading the lips of the actors to make it as close to the OG script as possible. its pretty awesome and everyone should check it out. if not to watch it, atleast read how it all happened.

I looked up some of the trivia the parade was a real parade and they thought she was really running for sheriff and the reason the character has one hand is Keith Cooke broke his hand shortly before filming commenced while riding a luge with Cynthia Rothrock.

growing up I had such a crush on Cynthia Rothrock, usually, I would crush on various female villains like Ursa (Superman '78), Diana (V miniseries '83), Princess Ardala (Buck Rogers '79)
Oh yeah Princess Ardala ooh La La!! Pamela Hensley did a few more shows, quest appearances and then she dropped off of the Hollywood radar in 1985. She'll be 73 this year.

This is basically a Cynthia rothrock version of what happened in Athens Tennessee. Where the sheriff of the county did the same thing the bad guys are doing in this movie. But instead of Cynthia and her friends it was the veterans of the community had a shoot out with the sheriff.
CHINA o' Brian was a good flick but Cynthia's best days were when she was making movies in Hong Kong with Sammo, Andy Lau, and Michelle Yao.
i rented China O'Brien from my local "VHS" video library about 500 times..Loved it everytime and it was £2.00 a night to rent back in 1995.. And you had to rewind the tape before returning it.. ahhh amazing times..
Okay, I've heard it so many times, I have to confess, I wear a ring on both pinkies. Granted, I wear a ring on almost every finger, but the most ostentatious are reserved for th pinky ring spot. One is my class ring which is white gold with quite a large Ruby inset. The other is a vintage piece from the 1970's, a brushed white gold ring with a square pattern of 16 diamonds laid in. Dunno if it's been mentioned already but, Keith Cooke, who plays Dakota, was also in King of the Kickboxers and most remember him as the main henchman in Beverly Hills Ninja. I still enjoyed this Hong Kong produced, gender bent version of Walking Tall.

Did you skip the opening credits? Jason would've been doing the Leo meme when he saw the director. It was Robert Clouse who made...Enter the Dragon. Clouse tried to emulate the success of that so many times with Hong Kong stars. It was produced by Golden Harvest, a Hong Kong studio, that's why it has a Hong Kong in the US feel.
Also, I hope the Rothrock love means you are getting to Magic Crystal soon. If you want to have a funnier time, go with the English dub as Norton's dubbed accent is incredible. Also, you will be happy with Rothrock's weapon work, her first fight has a weapons gag that I won't spoil but its awesome and stupid in equal measure.

Cynthia Rothrock was hugely popular I remember in the 90's and China O'brien one of them. Always a joy to watch your reactions. And love that you have this project,very good luck to you. I'm sure you have this or reviewed it : An Eye for an Eye 1981 with a clean shaven Chuck Norris and Christopher Lee. Would be great to see your take on it.
