Excellent high standard review. Let me try to explain bulk center tunnel. Its the core strength for entire structure rigidity similar to building beam.
In Australia, we have the 2.5L engine from the Mazda6 on the upspec versions of the Mazda3 (even in the previous generation from 2014 onwards). I think that would’ve helped it compare more favourably to the 1.5 Turbo in the Civic. I know you mentioned the 2.5 Turbo AWD model that is North Am exclusive, due to being LHD specific, but I see no reason why they couldn’t bring the standard 2.5 RHD model to M’sia like they do for Aus. On the flip side, we don’t get the Civic sedan in an affordable trim level here as there’s only one very expensive trim. But I guess they’re playing to each market, I know Honda was always wildly popular in Malaysia growing up there, as is Mazda in Australia over the past decade.
What about the torsion beam rear suspension on the Mazda 3? Seems like a lower standard suspension setup for that price range. Does it make a difference?

by seeing this video. it makes me want to buy the Mazda even more. to me being a big car enthusiast power is not my only concern. if we want power, just add in turbo on the Mazda like the 2L turbo that other markets have. Power is not my biggest concern because im not racing everyone on the road and honestly car enthusiast dont need tons of power. im not a racer nor do i want to race everybody, rather having fun is more important from a driver's car just like the MX5. so honestly engaging drive and fun is more important than power especially in this segment. Id rather put my money on the Mazda 3 and if it comes to the point i do need more power, just tune it, add a turbo in it. if i want even more. drop the 2.5 T engine in it. if it fits in other market, it will fit in Malaysian market. just as the same reason Mazda 3 has a transmission tunnel when it not a RWD, because America market has the AWD version. So the 2.5L T engine will fit. id rather have engaging and fun. Thank you Carlist and furthermore pls give this guy a raise. he is good. and very eloquent in the language. love the professionalism.

Not worth it. U got same engine. Same features. If u own tcp facelift. Same sensing. More good at lane watch camera comparing to fe rs. The camera has lower quality’s.
Honda is asking too much for the latest iteration of the Civic. Yet buyers are snapping them up like hot cakes. Remember, when the buying stops, so will be the overcharging!
Why buy Mazda 3 than Civic Mazda 3 got: - Blind spot monitor - Around view monitor - Rear Cross Traffic Alert - Nicer design - Reliable - Temperature meter - Dual Zone Auto Climate Control Civic don’t have - Blind spot monitor (LaneWatch but one side only) - Around View Monitor - Rear Cross Traffic Alert - Temperature Meter - Dual Zone Auto Climate Control Civic also: - Not reliable including Earth Dream Gearbox - Doesn’t looks better than Ketam

Better take mazda than honda. Cause once you start to drive honda, once you feel that regret that there will be many defect qualities like what happened to my honda before I sold off to change to another brand, you will regret buying honda
Elehhh..yet still so little mazda3 on the road...lol
Troll Because Civic is the only locally assembled in C segment while Mazda 3 come with CBU, so no other choice. But if Mazda 3 get locally assembled, did you think Civic is still best choice but without blind spot monitor but come with poor resolution lanewatch camera, and without those three like rear cross traffic alert, camera parking system and temperature gauge?
And no honda spare parts too
@@northgirl9733 elehhh...just compare global sales of civic vs mazda3 then u will have your answer...even the last gen mazda3 was local assembled too..how did it sell compared to civic ketam?..lol
Which one has better lighting when traveling at night?
Mazda3 ,Honda Civic
Mazda 3 has adaptive headlights + auto highbeam. At night, the headlights follows the steering input while taking corners.
Civic looks more like korean kpop, while Mazda 3 looks like Italian bella😌, you choose….😁
by seeing this video. it makes me want to buy the Mazda even more. to me being a big car enthusiast power is not my only concern. if we want power, just add in turbo on the Mazda like the 2L turbo that other markets have.
The Mazda3 made us smile more readily, more of the time, often at lower speeds. Who can put a price on that? :)
Bro, the skyactiv is a high comp engine, adding a turbo with a tune on it is a big nono to the engine, unless u going big touching the internals. Then it shud be fine 😅
I just got my mazda cx3 (used),done karak genting run.. its 110% satisfaction.. the pickup is strong, (cx3 use shorter gesr ratio).. and the FC is like myvi 1.5 when u want it to..
I used to own the Civic 1.5 TC-P and recently test drove the new Civic RS. My personal opinion is that the newer Civic RS doesn’t excite me enough compared to the previous model in terms of interior and exterior (handling is slightly better in the new RS). If I were to buy the Civic RS, I’m paying “more” for “less”.
Not worth it. U got same engine. Same features. If u own tcp facelift. Same sensing. More good at lane watch camera comparing to fe rs. The camera has lower quality’s.
Huh? The 1.5 TC-P interior is more exciting than the new RS? That's too far fatched.
Yeah Civic RS spec is actually backward from Civic 1.5 TC-P
Mazda 3 got the sexy classy looks eventhough it is just a facelift not a new model
Isn’t the road noise and noise insulation in general in the civic is a bit worse than the Mazda ?
Yes correct.
Mazda 3 win, CBU from Japan and 5 years free service.
Japan or Thailand
Do we race when we have two beasts side by side ?
Honda is asking too much for the latest iteration of the Civic. Yet buyers are snapping them up like hot cakes. Remember, when the buying stops, so will be the overcharging!
You didn’t mention which car has more body roll
definitely Civic.
Civic, test drove both. Mazda 3 is more composed and slightly stiffer.
@@nickwong2525 I think is due the G vectoring exclusive to Mazda cars that Civic doesn’t have
@@nchmusic99 That definitely does contribute to the better body control.
@@nickwong2525 yeap because in my Honda City 2021 , it has lots of body roll for a small car , so I expect civic to be more or less the same
Mazda reliable jugak…..specs baik dri Civic
Why not compare mazda 3 with corolla altis?
Why buy Mazda 3 than Civic
Mazda 3 got:
- Blind spot monitor
- Around view monitor
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- Nicer design
- Reliable
- Temperature meter
- Dual Zone Auto Climate Control
Civic don’t have
- Blind spot monitor (LaneWatch but one side only)
- Around View Monitor
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- Temperature Meter
- Dual Zone Auto Climate Control
Civic also:
- Not reliable including Earth Dream Gearbox
- Doesn’t looks better than Ketam
U like ketam?..u 5 yr old or what..lol
Troll you mean to say you like this copycat car but with poor specs and full digital meter also remove? Btw, he saying his truth.
Damn bro dude got that Top Gear accent
powaaaaah! 🤣
Nice and well reviewed. Will save money or sell able body to buy the Mazda. Civic is just too bland now.
Imma go for Honda and Civic all the time
Honda…no blind spot monitor but poor honda quality and honda spare parts also difficult to get
May God let me own a Mazda 3 too 🤲
Most famous car in the world...CIVIC 👍
But in here, we get poor specs without blind spot monitor but using poor resolution lanewatch camera, rear cross traffic alert and camera parking system. Civic also no dual zone automatic control and temperature gauge but now come with single zone automatic control without temperature gauge
Nice to see civic, nice to drive civic, once you feel that regret on many defect qualities like what happened to my honda before I sold off to change to another brand, you will regret buying honda. Got also oil dilution issues on honda 1.5 turbo.
