I've always preferred the original pixelated sprites and textures, but ngl, this's beautiful.
The neural upscaling actually fits Doom 64's graphics better, prolly cos it's based on 3D models.
64 is one of my favorite good to it getting some mods and attentions.

It certainly is. I loved the unloved mod which is why I added this as the intro intermission as a nod of appreciation to both Unloved and Lustmord.

Those it include the original weapon sprites or separate?
Both are separate, you can either load guns only
or monsters only.

The pistol sprite appears to be broken on my end. Perhaps I did something wrong? When the character goes to fidget or reload his arms disappear at certain frames.
@@BladesCross check the links again, in the mega folder there is a build that works perfectly.

Thats new, and souls only spawn on enemies deaths when you own the Unmaker.
Nothing aside from the Upscale was used.

Do you have to load every single weapon/enemy file set individually? It doesn't seem like I can load them all simultaneously, I have to grab the whole png set for each one which would take a hot minute to do.
You need a loader to load multiple files.

@@BerserkDoomer Yea, I'm using ZDL. When selecting the files it won't add more than one thing at a time. If I go to the hires weapons folder for example, I can't upload all of them at once. So if I say, want the hires shotgun sprites I have to go to the shotgun sub-folder in hires and load all the pngs for it specifically. Those I can highlight and load all at once but I'd have to do it for every weapon that way.
You don't need to decompress the file, just add it as is after all the files.
The same with monsters.
Where are the Doom 64-style wall gradients?

That's the universal bump map, but only works for zandronum and old GZDoom.

@BerserkDoomer nah I meant the gradients D64 lets you apply to walls, often used to simulate different lighting conditions. They're everywhere in the original but I see none here.
But of course you won't see them here, Doom 64 renderer won't even support most of the features present in the mod.
Everything is rendered with hardware, making it inaccurate in the style of the original.
@@BerserkDoomer What I mean to say is that, my understanding is this was created in GZDoom, which has had support for D64 gradients for awhile (I've used it myself in one of my maps). This is not a criticism of all the work that went into this mod, I just figured at this point it would have the gradients.
Ooh, I've been away from the Doom modding community for quite some time (joined the Doomworld forums 25 years ago... Doom 64 was only 3 years old *crying inside a little*) Anyway, how does one use these upscale packages? Can they be used without Brutal Doom, say Doom 64 CE or GZDoom + Doom64ifier? Where should I place the "HIRES" folders? I have no idea where to begin. I seen in one of the comments to use ZDL, so I downloaded it but I'm not familiar at all with what steps to take next.

Though I have another similar project that aims to be more vanilla like.

Though this requires editing the bat file and include the upscale files.
For the brutal version you will need either a bat file or use a launcher such as ZDL.

soy yo o el escalado natural de las armas se me buguea, ejemplo,, la pistola al recargar se estira de mas osea se deforma
(uso la version del gzdoom 4.11.3 en lugar de la nueva, como anteriormente dije de los problemas de las texturas hd, sera que tengo que usar la 4.12.2 del gzdoom? el escalado natural fue creado para esa version?) y perdona que este preguntando a cada rato :(

Probably a really dumb questions but were do you put the folders from the upscaled pack, i'm pretty new to this.
You should use ZDL to load them after the mod.

Can someone please explain how to get brutal doom to work with doom 64? I can't get it to work
because you dont run Standard BD with this, you run it as a standalone version.

No hice texturas en esta version, solo sprites.
Y si, funcionan en Delta Touch, solo procura en el orden de carga, los archivos que puse sean despues del mod.

Igual si estuvieran en zip o pk7 deberian funcionar sin problema.
Los unicos archivos que necesitas extraer en caso de descargar, son los de ModDb.

No descomprimes nada, solo cargalo como viene, funciona normal.
Si no te funciona, borra cualquier espacio en el nombre del archivo y funcionara normal.

Does anyone know why these things have the "neural" in the name? I get the "upscale" part, but why neural?
Because a Neural Network and pre-trained models are used to make them.
In this case the Neural Program is ESRGAN.
I have been trying to get this to work but I don’t know how to combine the files and I keep loading separate files and I get doom 64 enemies and monsters and weapons and the other I get doom 64 maps but I get doom 1 and 2 enemies and weapons plz help 😢

That method is prone to fail.

How do I get this mod to work? I downloaded the upscale fikes but they are just folders not pk3s I'm confused.
You need to load the mod and the upscale after everything else.
This is just a graphic patch,not the mod itself.
Im loading this with zdl using zandronum as my source port and it tells me that execution couldnt continue and to remove “bd_bloodamount” since it already exists.. it doesnt let me start the game and i honestly dont know im new to this
Sounds like you're running another brutal doom build.
This version is a standalone.

@@BerserkDoomeryeah i downloaded that but its only the textures there isnt a .pk3 file or anything of the sorts, i wanna apologize if im simply just missing something here and im not seeing it but it just downloaded all the sprites and textures for me

Brutal doom 64 is dope as hell but I'm gonna be real. All the extra guns and weird rocket launcher sprite is kinda ruining it for me
Yeah, that's one of my few gripes, the original is better.
@@BerserkDoomer SMG is okay but mines really ruin the experience since D64 is HEAVY on enemy traps
