I love Americana, folk, bluegrass,punk,alternative,grunge,and now metal. You’ve said it before…good music is good music. If it speaks to your soul in some kind of way, then it’s good music. If I had only stayed listening to punk rock my whole life, look at all the amazing music I would’ve missed out on. The only thing I can’t listen to really is country, and anything on the radio lol When I’d goto live shows at clubs every weekend, maybe the band wouldn’t be up my alley but I could always say “their singer was great” or the drummer was awesome. There is so much to see and hear especially here in the states. Bluegrass has been here since the Irish and scots came over on the boat. Without that none of the other music would be here. How can you not sit back and think of the gravity of that?? Imagine starting music for an entire country. It blows my mind when I think about it. Every thing I listen to brings me joy and that’s all that matters. No one needs to be isolated in one box anymore. I mean look at you. A metal queen, but as a musician/singer yourself you can appreciate the caliber of talent even if it’s not metal. Wow off my soapbox now. I don’t know where all that came from, and I’m not even baked 😂 rock on everyone 🤘🏼

He’s got more than 600M views on his videos……. He doesn’t sing a bad song. A good one that most don’t react to is “whiskey and you”…. Very powerful and meaningful. Do the version from the “tiny desk concert”.

No matter how many times I hear him sing it, or how many different version of him singing it I hear, every time makes me feel exactly as you look like you felt. Chris Stapleton is generally better live so pick his live performances over his studio versions whenever possible. He didn't actually start out as a singer but limited himself to songwriting. He has written and co-written over 170 songs, among them six number-one country songs, earning him nine ASCAP Country awards, including the Vanguard Award. His songs have been recorded by some of music's biggest stars, including Adele, Brad Paisley, and Dierks Bentley. He has co-written songs with Vince Gill, Peter Frampton, Sheryl Crow, and Ed Sheeran, to name a few. He also wrote some songs for feature films, which are included on their respective soundtracks.
In 2007, Chris Stapleton started as the frontman for the bluegrass band The SteelDrivers, which is how I first learned of him. In 2010, he started a Southern Rock band called The Jompson Brothers. In 2013 he started his solo career after being signed by Mercury Nashville. He surprisingly did not become an overnight success. However, He eventually did become well-known and has been unstoppable ever since. He has received numerous awards and nominations. He is the recipient of five Grammys, seven Academy of Country Music Awards, ten Country Music Association Awards, five Billboard Music Awards, two iHeartRadio Music Awards, and some others.
I would recommend his live performances of Sometimes I Cry at the Binge Lounge, his Austin City Limits performance of "Tennessee Whiskey" and "I was Wrong," his impromptu cover of James Brown's "It's A Man's World," his tribute performances to Prince and Aretha Franklin, any other live performance, as well as his music video "Fire Away." Be forewarned; the last one is a tear-jerker, no matter how tough you are.
There's another Chris and his last name is Klafford and he's Swedish. His voice is amazing and I think you'll be surprised by his looks and you might drop your jaw from Shock. He sings Imagine, Tennessee Whisky, and he sings Ocean Eyes by Billie Ellish.

This isn't the blues. It's country. There is a lot of blues in county. At one time, county was referred to as the white man's blues. But, at the end of the day this is country.
