There is a long history of secrete passageways in the Capitol. Like the trap door in the Majority Whip's office that leads outside. Apparently the Briitish used it to gain access to the Capitol during the War of 1812. I can tell you that you need a map to figure out where you are going in the web of tunnels at the Library of Congress.
0:04 is Cannon Tunnel. I’m familiar with the tunnel system from working in both the Library of Congress and House of Representatives and it’s pretty cool! Most people tourists and locals don’t even know what’s going on beneath the streets. As I believe for members of the public depending on the occasion are allowed to use the tunnel system minus the tunnel between the Library of Congress and Supreme Court
The University of Minnesota main campus has a similar set of tunnels. Some are official passages, signed & on maps. Others are technically maintenance tunnels, but generations of students have discovered & used them---very convenient in a MN winter!
A lot of major universities do. I know that NC State has quite a few that one of my professors told me that he'd use in his days as a student. One of the big universities in Texas has miles and miles of tunnels that are massive in height in some places.
Then there are the tunnels that go through SC to other areas far away. There are tunnels from DC that go to: Langley, Ft Meade, Camp Weather, Camp David, and even Site R (Ravenrock) A bi t more about Ravenrock… Although it doesn’t appear like it at first, Ravenrock is considerably better protected than NORAD.
As to the conclusion.... I doubt we'll ever get a fully honest, fully accurate account of what went on... Rather whichever story/stories are "preferred" (whether true or otherwise) by whichever partisans control the levers of power at any given moment.
@@KFCOrBust Tell that to the security guards/police officers who were killed & hurt. Tell that to the maintenance people who had to clean up the human excrement. Tell that to the members of Congress who had to flee for their lives from a mob threatening to lynch them.
I did hear that the 1998 gunman incident was the only reason why there was an emergency evacuation plan for Congress, which is probably the main reason why all the lawmakers survived J6.

@ACoolKidsProduction Well, went to MN, so I've had personal experience with them. The fun part was finding an "unofficial" one & telling your friends.
Thanks for sharing Ryan and I pray that you, your family & anyone who reads this has a very Merry Christmas & God bless! ~ Scott 💙🙏🏻
Always appreciate these stories, BTW.

Tunnel Snakes rule! - Butch Deloria
Sounds like daybyou if that helps. Debut is French and the t is completely silent here.
@9:57
"...still the politicians were at the mercy of Wahington's extreme weather..." - Climate change in the 1700s was no joke.
3:14 I had no idea Mexico was part of DC
Thats not mexico
@ it says “Mexico” just across the Rock Creek from Georgetown
@@wheeze_sanchez Well, there's a town in Missouri called "Mexico", so. .
I wish current politicians would focus on the needs of Americans as much as they focus on keeping their feet dry and safe.
No real photos of the tunnels today? Lame.
It's not a secret if it is on youtube....
J6 they used the tunnels BAHAHAHA
"Let them in the front so we can pretend to go out the back"
The American public became more of a threat than the British Army 😆🦅
Just another way for senators to dodge their constituents
Shut down 1/2 of federal government for good....
J6 wasn't a riot
You can call it a lot of things. Insurrection… putsch… Riot isn’t my favorite, but it works
@@KFCOrBust What would you call it? "Attempted coup"?

Only secret here is why you can’t get laid
