The Federation Council meets is San Francisco. Maybe Paris is the Executive capital and SF is the Legislative Capital. IDK. They do have transporter tech, so there is no reason they would have to have all the branches of government in the same city. From a safety point of view, it might make sense to spread out the Gov. One photon torpedo could take out all of Starfleet and the UFP Government if they were all in the same place.
Earth in general is the capital of the Federation. Which makes sense, they have shuttlecraft and transporters to get around anywhere on the planet within minutes or seconds. There wouldn’t be a geographic necessity to have all of its institutions tied to a single city.
During Enterprise time frame United Earth government (Pre-Federation) the Capitol was San Fransico, and when the UFP was formed Paris, France became the Capitol
So many errors in this video. 1. The capital city of the UFP is Paris, not San Francisco. 2. WWIII killed 600 million people, that's hardly 30 % of the population. 3. The Eugenic Wars happened in 1992, not after or shortly before WWIII. 4. Earth is also the homeplanet of the Voth. 5. While we hear about devastation from nuclear blows, it is far from what is portrayed in this goddamn awful SNW. 6. It is nowhere said that WWIII was an allout nuclkear war, only that major cities have been hit. If they had an allout nuclear war, nuclear winter would have lasted for years and killed all human and almost all plant and animal life on the planet. 7. If Paris was truly hit as it was shown in SNW, it wouldn't exist in the 24th century. It was literally ripped of Earths surface. 8. Sanctuary districts existed not only in San Francisco, but in the entire United States. 9. The UN didn't dismantle itself beause of the Aufgment Question, but rather due to the political turmoil in Europe and America. It was even rebuilt before 2036 as the New United Nations. 10. The San Francisco Fleet Yards are not on Earth, but in orbit of Earth. At best, the command hub of the yard is in San Francisco.
San Francisco is the location of Sarfeet Headquarters and Starfleet Academy. The Federation Government was headquartered in Paris. It was portrayed more than once on screen.
the thing I find oddest is the golden gate bridge survived being nuked but is still in tip top condition by the 24th century. I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't have had to replace at some point due to structural fatigue.
Happy new year and happy holidays. If 25th-26th century starfleet academy has launched new starship designing and propulsion comparison with 32nd century, that's would be popular subject to starfleet members. Or they'd better to establish some new subjects in San Francisco and Ganymede base.
2:30 I've always wondered about that part since I learned that Star fleet Headquarters are located in San Francisco. I was always thinking, man I hope all those futuristic building and structures in 24th century San Francisco are earthquake proof. I'm only learning this now in the Star Trek universe they actually find ways to prevent or at least lesson the impact of earthquakes.
Why isn't there any mention of the real life United Nations being founded in San Francisco in 1945? I'm sure that's a big part of the reason why San Francisco in Star Trek is the center of their universe.
I’m not overly familiar with SF history, but have all the major navy facilities gone now? If it was a port for aircraft carriers still like in Voyage Home, it would be weird if it wasn’t nuked, but I’m assuming they got decommissioned post Cold War?
The US Navy pulled out of the San Francisco Bay Area in the mid 90s with the end of the Cold War and mounting protests over nuclear weapons capable warships being homeported there. The Navy relocated all west coast based ships and facilities to San Diego and Seattle
London is the United earth capital n paris is the federation capital. San Francisco is starfleet headquarters, but they had academy campuses on all continents , facilities in every country.. i believe san Francisco is a major us navy bases . Is gleet week thus year . Shipyards. Ect Paris has an academy, Australia, as well .
Climate change was never brought up during Star Trek for any of the things that happened yet you thought it ok to add this to the lore at your own discretion. Ridiculous.
It's always irked me that in cannon they say the nuclear war destroyed most major cities yet every city that is famous now is still famous then. I feel like all the stuff that survived would have been podunk towns and small institutions that weren't targets in WWIII. I would love for worldbuilding for the cities, and major universities and such to be utterly random podunk crap from today. Like don't have Harvard, make Devry Technical college the most elite university of the future, make like Watervillet Michigan the capital of Earth.
Major cities in Europe and the Pacific were destroyed in the Second World War and rebuilt. There is no reason why humanity would not rebuild its major cities and institutions after a third world war, especially with help from the Vulcans.
@@TheLAGopher True! I've always assumed that PAris was completely wipped out, but after the war was colonized and re-built by the british, which is why the Picard's have a british accent.
Like all the others said, Paris is the capitol. San Francisco is the headquarters of Starfleet
Paris is the federation capital not earth
@CrazyNights1015 I think you mean United earth
In babylon 5 .earth alliance headquarters in Geneva..
@shanenolan5625 no i meant the capitol of the federation is Paris
@@shanenolan5625 i never mentioned earth. The video said that San Francisco was the capital of the federation.
@@CrazyNights1015 So you're saying Star Fleet Command is the capital of the Federation.
In the Star Trek VI and DS9 it shows that Paris is the capital as that is where the president’s office is at

was just saying the same thing to myself while watching this
Capital is money. Capitol is a seat of governance.
@@hawkname1234 incorrect. Capitol is a statehouse building or buildings. Capital is used for all other meanings.
Yeah, the Federation capital city is Paris. San Francisco is home to Starfleet Command and Starfleet Academy.
I thought Paris was the capital of the federation
During Enterprise time frame United Earth government (Pre-Federation) the Capitol was San Fransico, and when the UFP was formed Paris, France became the Capitol
Paris is the Capital.....
3:44 Pretty much describes San Francisco in real life right now.
Under BIDENflation
I thought Paris was the capital of Earth
Yeah and of the Federation I think? Starfleet is in San Fransisco but not the political headquarters.
In Star Trek novels, Paris is the capital of Earth. San Francisco is just the location of Starfleet.

Nuclear winter is a theory at best, more like junk science.
San Francisco was also where the UN Charter was signed in 1945, which was the start of the present day United Nations.
There is a dedication plaque in Muir Woods of UN delegates who gathered there in memory of FDR.

Could be that the bridge has been treated with some kind of protective nanomaterial to keep it from degrading.
The golden gate bridge doesn't look the same their are clearly solar panels along the top. So it was probably rebuilt
Verry nice.
If you're wondering why the narrator sounds familiar, it's because he's the same guy from Geetsly's, their channel on Star Wars lore.
Yes and he should stick to Star Wars lore, because he's has little to no knowledge about Star Trek.
Thanks for this. 😊

I love AI Golden Gate Bridges (sarcasm), as is the GGB has a complex shape that is difficult to render.
In Star Trek: Voyager, Starfleet Communications is shown to be located in the One Maritime Plaza building.
And just when was a third tower added to the Golden Gate Bridge? @9:15
Paris was the capital wasnt it?

Now, if we could just get to maturity as a species and a United Earth without WW3, that would be good 👍
I mean, here on Earth 1, San Francisco is already pretty much the capitol of the Alpha Quadrant.
Tech Bro City? No surprise here.
I would like to know more about the fifty states of the United States and what happened to major cities in those states
what would happen if warhammer 40k encounter the federation, would they consider earth as heretics
Should Paramount create a series that focuses on the horrors of Star Trek's World War III?

I live in Sacramento CA it gets to cold in SF the Capitol should be somewhere warm
What is that, a shuttlecraft exploding in the shuttle bay @2:42
What happened to Washington D.C.? And you should probably stop using de-canonized material. STD is dead.
Wrong, Paris was the head of the Federation - SF was the head of Starfleet.

So Paris France is now obliterated from the timeline thanks to Kum-ba-ya San Francisco. 🤔
San Francisco survived the Apocalypse, but did it survive Godzilla ?
The use of JJtrek and Kirtztrek is inappropriate to explain Prime Earth.

I can’t watch a video that starts off with an incorrect statement. What kind of Star Trek channel do you think you are? Unsubscribe
I still think the US capital should be here in California.
It’s a TV show. And they made some movies. It’s fictional. You all take this entertainment WAY TOO SERIOUSLY
A thoroughly screwed up future history…

oh we are using the 'Discovery timeline' history? According to Lower decks, this isnt, gracefully, the prime timeline. Yaay.
Discovery is a horrible series. Too many woke crap
Are there still homeless drug addicts everywhere?
