I used to laugh at these videos. I thought they were BS. Then I started training judo and jiu jitsu and realized the hand fighting is what sets up the attack. Came back to this and holy shit... it's the same for striking. Wing Chun is like the deep study of engagement for all martial arts.

Sifu Francis's face is pure love and happiness when Kevin figures out the concept on only the 2nd try. Very quick learner and a blessing.

  • @seric4546

I thought the whole point was dealing with a larger stronger opponent.

  • @BetterMonsters

I am so appreciative that Sifu Francis is willing to share his knowledge here and that Kevin facilitates that. Really feels like something special to learn from someone with so much experience

It doesn't even work against a smaller opponent

  • @Oithissucks

I would love to be taught any martial art with a Sifu as knowledgeable and passionate as Sifu Francis. Always in awe watching these, seeing someone so in tune with his craft.

As a 6'7" dai si hing, I am constantly being asked by my sidi how to fight against taller opponents. Thank you Kevin and Fong Sifu.

  • @dirtpoorchris

Its dirty but another trick you can do to help control tall people is step on their foot as you strike them so they stumble or fall. Be careful using this with friends if they fall and you keep your foot on their foot it may break their ankle! ALOT of people leave their lead leg way out and its super easy to simply step on their foot and keep your foot on their foot and trap them.

  • @Jupiterxice

Yup but....... A actual boxer puts a stop to that slapping wingo chung stuff

  • @anonperson3972

As a bigger guy (granted with a background in wing chun and other Chinese martial arts), I found that using my reach in striking and superior strength in grappling is a good tactic for more skilled hand fighters.
