I'm 41 years old and this was one of my favorite movies growing up. 11/28/2022 is the first time seeing or even hearing about these deleted scenes. I thank you for posting.
Yep she was much more attractive in those flicks. They really made her look as poor as possible in Nerds, lol. Interestingly she gave up acting completely after the 80s.
Lol that scene was so out of context and over the top, there's no need for that guy to even be there. There were a lot of ways to play the whole racial fish out of water element, which the movie did well, although I imagine it makes some soft people uncomfortable today. But they went with full on getting disowned by a family member. This movie was about 20 years late for a thing like that.
"Hair Pie" Sank you very much, lol I was just a kid when this movie came out and it was definitely my favorite movie for a while. Lol When Booger wanted to get their party rolling I had no idea what Reefer was but i knew whatever is was it made the party!! 😂😂
A friend of mine was an extra in the movie "Singles" in a scene where a band was playing, only it wasn't. The band only pretended to play, so the actors could speak their lines. The music was dubbed in later. My friend said it was surreal beyond belief, it was like she'd done gone deaf, because everyone was so quiet!
i love scenes where the ADR and other post-production things aren't added in yet. it's a lot of fun seeing some additional stuff even if it's clear why they were deleted.
I feel like I'm 13 again, staying up late at a friend from church's house whose big brother had a friend spending the night too. We all 4 snuck into the living room to watch a movie and to our luck this movie started as soon as we turned on their old console TV. We hugged and giggled that we were going to get to watch an R rated movie (their parents were super strict)! I'll never forget it.
I related to this movie when I first saw it. I was around 12 or 13 and one of my schools biggest nerds. I got tears in my eyes at the end. We are the champions!!!!
So, here's a guess about the nerdy guy on the phone with Stan... there was a discarded subplot with Stan actually revealing himself to be nerdy when he was alone in his room (wearing glasses reading a book). My guess is this guy caught him in this state at some point and was extorting him to keep the secret.
And it comes full circle in one of the sequels that Stan "comes out of the closet" and admits that he was always secretly a nerd but was pressured to be the preppy jock a$$hole type instead
@@sha11235haha...a much better race too...they used brains and science to overcome the odds. I think booger could have won the race w/o the pills, but wouldn't been as funny 😂
The last deleted scene is interesting, but I liked it better the way they showed it in the film, where it looks like the Tri-Lambs came home after the Alpha Betas left after trashing the house.

My guess is its to show why Stan hates Nerds. He's in debt to one. Perhaps the nerd takes his tests, or something like that. Makes me think they deleted a subplot and there might be more.
The original sub plot for Stan was very interesting. The sub plot had Stan as a jock, as seen in the movie, but to keep in with his Alpha Beta fraternity brothers, he had to hide the fact that he was actually...a nerd. He would hide in his dorm room wearing his glasses and studying, only to be dragged to frat parties and get drunk. Falling behind in his grades, he was paying nerds to secretly tutor him and to keep his true nature a secret. It's also why he was adamant in kicking the nerds out of their dorm so as to have his own room to hide his glasses ant text books. The Pep Rally scene is really the only subtle indication left of this sub plot. Prior to this, the football coach made his speech to the Alpha Betas about getting redemption after getting their _"asses whipped by a bunch of goddamn nerds."_ Being with his frat boys at the time, Stan had to keep up the image, and trashed the Tri Lambda frat house. Ever wonder why at the Pep Rally, Stan never jumped off the float, picked a fight with the black Lambdas, or fought for his girl, or made a threat to get the nerds? When Betty rushes to Lewis, Danny Bourke is even seen on the float in the background gesturing to Stan as if, _"Are you going to let these nerds get away with this?"_ It were the speeches of Gilbert and Lewis, that Stan's true feelings were revealed. When Gilbert and Lewis were talking to the crowd about _"being laughed at and made to feel inferior,"_ Stan was the only Alpha without a look of anger, frustration or contempt. It was a look of uncertainty and reflection. By the end of the speeches, he had a look of genuine sadness. It wasn't because Betty left him. It was because he wanted to go down there and join them, but knew he never could.
@@PhantomFilmAustralia How do you know all this? I am a huge Nerds fan but never heard of this subplot. It's very interesting though, I must say. Although, if you watch the third film, Stan finally admits he is a nerd. I just had no idea it was tied into the first film. Thanks for sharing! RJ
@@PhantomFilmAustralia I thought the sadness was him realizing he had lost so much being this racist type jock and that there were many others like the Nerds.
I'm assuming there's a double secret Deleted Scene where they explain how the Nerds managed to win the chariot race, a completely physical challenge, against the Alpha Betas...
I'm guessing because Wormser was just a kid, so they had the lightest chariot to pull. Another possible reason was because the Mu's were doing most of the pulling. Some of them were supposed to be athletic as demonstrated in the arm-wrestling event when the one girl almost beat Ogre.
My theory on the nerd on the phone, he was getting paid to do Stan's bookwork to keep him in college, but Stan wasn't really the bigshot he pretended to be.
What's the context of the first scene? What did Stan owe the money for? Steroids or something? Interesting to see these deleted scenes, but I can see why they were removed. They don't really add much to the story.
