In this video I share the top 5 Forscan mods I did on my truck. My truck is a XLT model with sync 2 and the 302 package. Some of these mods might not work for your truck, if it doesn’t have the same trim level. In the other hand, if you have a Lariat or a Platinum, there are many other mods that you can do on your truck that XLT trims don’t allow. For example, on the Lariats and Platinums with the 8 inch IPC, you can add the DTE number on top of the fuel gauge; you can add the transmission temperature number on top of the gauge also. I strongly encourage you to go through the Forscan spreadsheet linked below and confirm if your parameters are different, in case you have a different trim level and/or model year truck.

I follow 2 of your videos and one is to add the drl into the cluster controlled. Second one is to disable the drl in the bcm(only) “drlbyautolamp_key 1-5. Now that I got the drl into the cluster and the low beam won’t come on when the truck is in gear with lamp switch is off and that’s what I want. But with lamps switch is in “auto” Low beam and C shape led light are on too even day time and unchecked box in the drl cluster. And the C shape led light always stay on in all lamp switch positions while truck is in gear or not. What can I do to getbb by it right, thanks

@@drive8892 If you've done the the procedure to add the DRL to the IPC cluster, you need to undo the manual disable. Always test with the lamp switch on the off position. With the DRL option unchecked in the dash, the lamp switch in "off", no light should be on in the headlights.
@@drive8892 The procedure I did works for the OEM lights on a XLT. If your headlight has a daylight strip, the configuration would probably be similar to the one in a platinum/limited headlight.
You added the Daylight Running Lights to your instrument cluster. I'm about to download Forscan because I want to enable reverse sensing. I added the bumper, sensors, and wiring harness. I can see where to enable that in the PAM. But I cannot find anywhere in the IPC to add the REAR PARKING AIDE in the menu so I can turn it on and off similar to what you added to the menu with the DRLs. Where can I get the info to add this to my IPC with the Forscan? Thanks for any help.

Also I noticed you have no yellow ! Warnings ⚠️ did you go and clear them all or did you just have no error codes when the system runs all the systems? I have a few and wondering if I need to troubleshoot them? Truck seems fine as far as I know ?
Hey Andrew. Replacing the battery should not cause any settings loss for any critical component. If your truck is 2011 or newer, you might need to do a battery monitoring system (BMS) reset using Forscan.
I have a 2018 xlt with the 4 inch cluster. I also have aftermarket vland led headlights. Will this work to control my drl's? Thanks!
It won't work on the small clusters
So enabling the drl option to turn on/off on the guage cluster wont work for me since I have the basic little screen? I don't have the one like yours.

Guys, today there was a bit of a breakthrough in the FORScan thread and figured I'd post here in the main area as well in case some of you haven't got aboard the FORScan train yet or follow that thread.
Member DanMc85 made a discovery today about how to get around the (up to now) limitation of not being able to set Parking Lights, Fogs, Front Turn Lamps, High Beams, and Dedicated Lights (LED Light Bars/Strips) as DRLs. Any of these can be set in a few minutes via software only (no wiring) with FORScan.

I can't count how many people in the past year have asked me about doing Parking Lights and or Parking Lights & Turns as DRL so if you're one of them please visit the post above and donate some beer money to his Paypal link since he has put countless hours into this.
I've tested this on my own truck with factory LEDs and it works perfectly with Daytime Lights set in the IPC menu and the headlamp switch on Auto in my case. We need some feedback from guys with Halogen and aftermarket LEDs also.
Here's what I used to get Parking Lights (outer halo, no turn, no low beams) as DRL:

Hi Evan, both are correct. The first one turns it off, but doesn't add the option in the panel cluster. The second one does. It's two different ways of doing it. The advantage of the second ways is that you can turn it on more easily when you want.
Can you flash the TCM and Tune with ForScan?
Maybe the pro version allows it, but I doubt the free one does. However I wouldn't recommend doing that with any other software than Ford's IDS
Hey, i have the option to uncheck daylight lamps on 19 s550, but they don't seem to be turning off? Do i have to restart the car after unchecking daytime lamps? They're still on when the car idles.
You don't need to restart the car. I'll post a procedure on what you can check later today when I'm free

Then you want to change all the DRL Cluster control 1 through 5 and DRLByAutoLamp_Key1 through 5 TO "INOP".
I had disabled mine and it would not work when I added the option to the cluster. Once I changed everything back to INOP, it started working.
Let me know if this works out.
@@dcfgarage mmmm. So when I say DRL, I mean the triple fin LED lights..... apparently those can't be turned off? To your knowledge have you seen any mustangs with those fin lights off?
@@NYRhyme That would be the DRL. All recent fords have similar software, so I assume that it could be adjusted. The other possibility is that the F550 might have different parameters.
Do you think thid conf works on thr edge 2016?
Based on this Edge forum thread (www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/23250-comprehensive-list-of-possible-forscan-mods/), it seems that the parameters are the same. I would try... make sure you write down what you changed, and if it doesn't work you can revert back.

For what I searched, this will only work on the IPC for the 2015-2020 models. But you can still enable or disable DRL for the 11-14 models.
Day Light Running LIghts BCM 726-11-01 x*xx xxxx xx 1 = DRL enabled low beam
2 = DRL enabled fog lights
3 = DRL enabled turn signals
726-12-01 xxxx x*xx xx Daytime Running Lights uses Parklamps: 0=disable, 1=enable (Note: ALL park lamps will be on including tailights)

I have morimoto headlights on my 2019 F150 XLT. I did the disabling Canadian forced DRLs to cluster controlled
. It comes up on my cluster. But once i disable the DRLS it wont let me enable them backt it in the cluster. I have to restore value back for my OEM DRLS to come back on.
Hi VP. I would try re-checking all the configurations again. When that happens it's normally because the values entered in one of the configurations failed the checksum, then it reverts back to as-built.

How do you add running board module to your truck with forscan
It looks like you have to configure it in the APIM and IPC. Not sure if it will work with aftermarket running boards though.

So I'm trying to disable my DRL's as well, but I have the Gameboy looking screen. Would I still be able to add the same on/off option to that screen too? 2015 5.0 Great video by the way, just wasn't sure being a different engine if that matters.

Did your speedometer came default A as KMH instead of mph?
It came out of factory in KPH and it was sold in Canada. However, the Ford dealer that sold me changed the ipc To MPH as a requirement to import the truck to the US.
@@dcfgarage my truck came as kmh and not mph on that digital speedometer. So everytime I start the engine I have to press "ok" all the time. I wonder is there is a way to change the default to mph instead?
@@sxiong9908 My truck had the same problem. It kept going back to KPH on the digital speedometer after turning it off. I complained to the dealer when I bought it and they fixed it. They said they had to remove the IPC from the dash and send it to someone to program it. I don't know the details though.

I did the Drl in my instrument cluster but it does not turn the lights off or on when I check the box any idea why?
Hi Chaz. Is your truck 2015-2019 with the same cluster as mine? For the previous generation trucks or the 8 inch cluster, the values are different. If no, then try doing ti again. This happened to me the first time I did it. When I did it again, it worked. I assume I must have put in the wrong config the first time. Hope it helps

@@chazwilkey6389 Then I would redo the 2 BCM changes again. Because you can see the option in your cluster, the IPC change you made was correct. So it's probably one of the BCM changes that didn't go through.

The "as built" numbers change from truck to truck. Just make sure yours is a 2015-2020 XL or XLT. Lariat and above trims have different codes for the changes. But many are the same as the XLs and XLTs
