I listened to this talk at a time when I felt absolutely exhausted with my many responsibilities. I was seeking peace and this was the perfect talk. Thank you, Elder Ballard, for this talk. Thank you for your life. ❤️

God wants us to have a very close relationship with him, because of his incredibly strong love for each of us. He won't ever force us to show love to him, but will give us a gentle nudge to remind us of what he wants us to do for him.

His story about the widow that died who he didn't visit, impacted me. Always following the promptings of the spirit I feel is very important to me especially right now.

I wish that the individual churches carried this message, and cared this much about the individuals in their church. We love deeply the people we commit our life to. If we could commit to loving every member of the church deeply there would be more members. I spent a year converting and was abandoned abruptly once I was baptized. I knew nothing about what to do, where to go, who to talk to, just see you later. I still watch General Conference but I just feel like an outsider otherwise so I don’t go to church. I have never felt as out of place at a church as I did at my local church after baptism. And that is after moving to a small town in Utah.

I have been in a similar position many times. What I have been taught, is how alone the Savior was, despite having many disciples around Him. I have also learned what it feels like, so that I can never let someone else feel alone.
If you’ve found yourself in this position, maybe your calling is to build that community you are looking for. Set up times to hang out, or maybe even just do your best to ask other ward members how their week was. In time, you’ll build what you’re longing for.
And how rewarding it is, to know what abandonment feels like and then preventing others from feeling that same feeling. You’ll grow more like the Savior in word, and in deed, which will increase your joy beyond measure.
Remember the importance of the sacrament. Remember the joy you felt gathering in the chapel for the Lord, not for anyone else. Don’t let others dictate your degree of happiness. Just get back in there and put your whole heart into it. Pray for strength and help and comfort. You’ve got this. Don’t give up just yet.

Pls Don’t lose ur faith. Heavenly Father knows ur heart n ur struggles. It’s for our Father that we’re here to do his work n do OUR best to walk in the light. Not for man or for anybody else. Humans r just that, imperfect n of the flesh. Not saying they or anybody else isn’t worthy of his love. U have ur own personal relationship with thee. Just like another commentator mentioned, maybe it’s ur calling to be that voice n example to others who too have felt outcasted n alone. I fell away from the church for sum years because of the same reason, n also cause of how other members have made me feel n how they wanted to portray themselves as to wat a perfect member is supposed to be. Wat brought me bak was feeling his love when i felt most alone n unworthy. I had to go thru that n lose sumone very close to me by murder to finally n completely surrender to thee to grow in faith n realize i have absolutely no control of the trials im supposed to go thru. I cannot go thru this 13:30 life alone n without his strength n peace. Ask questions n seek answers thru the power of prayer n the Holy Ghost. True conversion takes a lifetime to learn. I’ve learned that I have to do the work, I have to get to know our savior n no one else is gonna do it for me. Love n aloha to u. Dnt forget ur forever his child.

I know that this is an old talk. The impression or msg I get is that that sister was blessed. The fact that your thoughts were with her may have been the spirit letting you know. Letting you know the spirit is real, it shows that you care, wishing you had given her a final blessing and all. I hope this feeling of just missed on blessi g her along the way passes.. I get the impression that you did bless her.. those coincidental thoughts or thought meant to enlighten you.

It seems to me that President Ballard is taking a mad resemblance to his grandfather, Elder Melvin J Ballard, in his appearance.

I wish the church practiced “what matters most is what lasts the longest” when confronted with a hungry person who stole a few chicken nuggets from the church.
