40 years is a looooonnnggg time to serve in the administration of the church. Anyone who has had a calling knows the weight of it. Not to mention the supporting family members. Its a LOT of work. But oh how grateful i am for the sacrifice and love of these amazing men and women! We think its hard to be the nursery leader or elders quorum president or bishop or even stake president, but these good men literally don't get released from their callings till death! How grateful i am for their dedication and service! I know the Lord truly calls each person to service in their own special ways. And our temples are part of it all, going there we can really understand who we are and what path the Lord has planned for us individually. His plan is true and beautiful, and encompasses us all, no matter who we are or where we are. ❤❤❤❤❤
they also get free housing, free edu for their families, free drivers, free everything and a "modest stipend" of over 100k- many years ago probably 200 now. Its not the same as those of us who have spent many hours free---at the expense of our jobs or families.

I'm not a Mormon and I don't subscribe to their teachings but I gotta say, Mormons are some of the very honest and hard working people I have ever met in my life; I believe their faith plays a big part..If there's a heaven out there, I'm sure the Mormons will be the first to enter.

I love our Prophet! In a few minutes, he explains the whole thing...why the Temple exists, how the Temple came to our time, why we go there, etc. I live with a non-member and I want him to hear this, so simple to understand!

Nelson and President Dallin H. Oaks retired from their professional, occupational lives to be called and sustained as members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles by President Spencer W. Kimball?! What a historic, grand milestone for these stalwart leaders of the Church!

I am so thankful for the fruit God is bearing for me as I receive those He sent. Jesus' test to know true prophets (by their fruits) is truly inspired. Some say to test prophets by their prophesies (Deut 18:22) but this is inferior to Christ's true test of a prophet (Matt 7:15-20) because non-prophets and those not worth following have given accurate prophesies (Caiaphas - John 11:49-51; Baalam Num 22-24, just to name a few).
Following the our Prophet, President Nelson during COVID saved my family spiritually because Christ was guiding His church through prophets! Paul said to the Corinthians to be followers of him (Paul) 1 Cor 4:16 and in doing so they were led in the true worship and doctrine of the Lord Jesus Christ; so if we are followers of President Nelson, the Lord will guide us in these last days as we prepare for His return!!

you used to be able to- you walked in and they showed it to you. However they deny the stories the LDS church say happened---Many of these were not written down or talked about- but were written into the history many years later.
I’m Lds and I find it so hard to believe that Moses someone who supposedly had been dead for thousands of years along with others appeared. Also I find it very difficult to believe the prophet and a lot of the things which he said. They are way beyond my understanding, perhaps there’s truth in it, needing temples to help etc; however I don’t know it just doesn’t make sense. I want to believe I truly want to believe that it happened and for many years I claimed that we have the restored priesthood and I want to believe that it’s true yet the more I listen to the prophet, apostles, leaders of the church the harder it is to believe.
I’m not even sure why we speak so much of these things to be honest just talking about Christ tends to do it for me anyways there’s a lot of knowledge that I lack and it is what it is. Christ knows I’m trying

Hi, thanks for sharing you concerns. I assure you that if you pray for understanding, and act on faith, with an open heart and mind, you absolutely will discover more and more truths! Like what was said below, choosing to be humble is key here. So is choosing to be patient. If we prepare for, and go to the temple often, we will learn much more doctrine and principles of the gospel of Christ. It can be common to have doubts, but we should hold onto the things we know to be true, until we learn more about things we previously doubted. Also I try to doubt my doubts, but don't doubt my faith in God's plan of happiness. God loves you and knows your struggles personality!
Hey. I appreciate your honesty. Consider Jesus' words: "Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me." (Matt 10:40).
That's actually how we focus on Christ - is by carefully identifying those through whom He (the Lord) speaks, and follow them.
Paul to the Corinthians said " I urge you, then, be followers of me." (1 Cor 4:16) because as evidenced by Paul's several letters, there were many who claimed to have the truth but didn't, and in turn confused those trying to follow God. So the best way for them to come to God, was to follow Paul because He intimately knew God and was sent by Him for that purpose.
Jesus told us what the real test of a prophet is: the fruit produced as a result of the prophet's work (Matt 7:15-20). Some uses Moses' word to test a prophet by their prophesy (Deut 18:22). This method is inferior to the one Jesus gave since non-prophets and those neither called of God nor worth following have given accurate prophesies (Caiaphas (John 11:49-51), Baalam (Num 22-24) for example).
I could go on forever about this stuff. But I'd say, start with the Book of Mormon. I haven't experienced anything greater than that to jump start my relationship with God (speaking from experience here). From there He'll guide you as you open your heart to Him.
