Love it. I told someone the other day I was a temple worker. They told me I shouldn't use the word "work" , they said I serve in the temple.
After listening to this, I am proud to say I am a temple worker!
I am a temple worker too
I serve in the temple which makes me a temple worker. I get out of bed before the sun comes up and get there in the quiet hours of the morning when it's so peaceful
You are a temple angel 😘
What a weird thing to correct someone about.
Service is work. It's hard to understand why someone would try to mince words in that way. The act of service/work, is what matters.
The greatest blessing of work is not only in what our labor produces but in what we become as a result. The ultimate goal of our existence is not simply believing, saying, and doing, but in becoming. Thanks elder Bednar.
"Work is love made manifest."
It’s crazy he said that because I ran into two other TH-cam videos earlier this week where the message was “when we work we manifest love within ourselves and into what we create” so when I heard him say that I was like wow God is really sending this message out to me this week, maybe to others as well. I love that we will feel love and joy as we look at the work we’ve done
The poet Kahlil Gibran said, "Work is love made visible."
Once Elder Bednar talks- you can only listen..listen and ponder thank you Elder Bednar
Absolutely Well said. 🇦🇺kind regards Johanna
Discouraging morning. Discouraged NO MORE! Thank you, Elder Bednar! I'm feeling so much better!
I was listening with headphones while cleaning the car when he said “…strive to become agents who exercise faith in the Savior and act and shun becoming objects who are merely acted upon.” Like four times, I thought my phone was glitching out, then it really started sinking in!
Thank you Elder Bednar for this inspired message and thank you God for the gift of agency to choose for ourselves. May we progress in aligning our will with Gods and be ready for the Saviors return! (Eagerly waiting His return!) 🤍🤍🤍
I had a similar reaction too. Thought he was repeating himself 😂
I'm on my way to work and listening to this helped me understand that there is deeper meaning and purpose in the work I do on a daily basis. I sometimes felt my work didn't matter that much. Today I go to work with gratitude and with a feeling of joy.
Thank you for telling us the mind of Christ.
I am old and semi invalid. I enjoy these BYU devotionals! They inspire me, comfort me. Thank you
Invalid? Do you, as an individual, work to build the kingdom? If so, then you join the efforts of thousands and millions of individuals, whose work is VALID. God bless you for your contribution!
I understand as I am an older child if God as well. But…
The older we become the more experience we have to offer others especially when we know our purpose and
Value of how we can contribute to others. Remember
SPIRITS ARE AGELESS!
🤗🙏🏻♥️😁
She meant “ invalid.”weak or disabled by illness or injury…..not “ invalid”, no longer useful. They are spelled the same.
Maybe they meant “inactive?” And it autocorrected
Thank you BYU Speeches for uploading Elder David A. Bednar's devotional address right away.
I do not belive one can not listen to Elder Bednar and not love him . A true apostal of God .
It hit me when he said standard works. The scriptures are standards that God is trying to teach and they work everytime they are implimented. It takes work to apply the standard and when we strive God works in us. The standard works and the standard must be lifted up as an ensign to all the world. Yes the standard works! The standard brings to pass immorality and the opportunity for eternal life!
We are the work of God's work. I love this concept. Our progress on earth is fulfilling His work. Thanks Elder Bednar.
I love this. I have a growing testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and believe with all my heart that this is one of his prophets today
We are here to honor Jesus Christ by serving one another. Thank you El
Thank you, Elder Bednar!
Thank you Elder Bernard. ❤
😊
Wow. What powerful doctrines to internalize. I pray for the grace of God to help me in my efforts to become someone who acts rather than is acted upon.
Wow! This talk is an EPIC that is an instant classic! Thank you Elder Bednar! Work is essential! So many wonderful doctrinal truths just pouring out. I can’t wait to print this out and study it in depth.
😊Glad to know I'm not the only one who studies that way! I can't keep enough printer cartridges in my printer to keep up with my massive list of things to print and study 😉💕
Amen about reprinting of talks, kessons & etc .. to restudy & reread. My phone is full of shots of portions of talks & etc .. for me to re-review, recall asap 😂
I love these talks & teachings of our Prophet, Apostles and Church leaders. Thank You God For Your Works & Wonders 🙏💞
Elder Bednar you are so close to Christ and it is evident in your voice and expressions.
I love listening to Elder Bednar. He was president of Ricks College/BYU Idaho all those years ago and even then he regularly talked about being an agent to ACT and not to be ACTED UPON. That philosophy has stayed with me and has given me courage.
Super important talk :: I wish to mention too that work is the seed of happiness and joy … diligent labor is hard and happy Workers have higher self esteem and skill levels are genuinely more filled with peace and happiness … if Gods plan is a plan of happiness then surely happiness is a by product of working and laboring with God Also God commands us to work not only for our benefit but bc God wants to ingage with our creativity and so when we work with God our desires mesh with their desires or efforts with Their efforts and this creates DEEP INTIMACY and This is what God desires our growth yes but also an Intimate relationship with each one of us …
I love how Elder Bernard took an opportunity to build The testimony and strength of the Prophet. I love hearing his words of a Marvelous Work and a Wonder.
🙆🏽♀️I Love The Wonderous Works of God ❣️ In His Creations He closed each one of Us before He created the World 🌎 From the Spirit Realm was His choice to create Us males and females
In His Work He formed Us from the dust of the Ground 🏝 In His time He created man⏳️ and blew His Breath of Life in Us🌬 Wonderous Works of God 💫Now let Us Work to the Glory of God and His son Jesus Christ✨️Amen
We thank Thee, O God , for Prophets, Seers and Revelators! ❤❤
Thank you so much, elder Bednar for this great message.
What can we do without your marvelous spiritual messages that enhance our understanding of who Heavenly Father is❤and His character. Thanks so much!
This is hope, I feed on the scriptures, this is a start for me in the morning. How grateful I am for the gift of the electrical devices are, this is through God’s gift to us who are bed ridden.
Had specific questions mulling in my mind today… that were explicitly answered in this devotional. So grateful!
What an amazing talk! I’m listening for the 4th time!! Such beautiful doctrine!! We are the reason for all creation!! “We are everything to God.” I loved the quote of Pres Monson’s. Thank you Elder Bednar.. Work is a blessing!!
Wonderful speech that reminds us our accountability as servant of the Lord.
So important in this day to be agents and not objects. In every circumstance.
What a great talk this was. I’m glad I was able to hear it.
No entiendo inglés pero tan solo escuchar su vos ciento el espíritu desde Paraguay
This was powerful! I love the build up it had to the topic of technology, especially Artificial Intelligence. "The Lord is the same today, yesterday and forever" is such a cliche term in the Christian community but this talk really emphasized that truth for me. Work is still required today and forever!
Wow. A very timely talk 🙌🏽
Incredible, timely inspired sermon.
10:30 I love this quote from Pres. Monson! I don't remember ever having heard it before.

I have oeace of mind listening the talks of the leaders thank you🙏❤
Thank you Elder Bednar!
Another great one
is when Jesus healed the man
born blind... He was asked 'why
was this man born blind? Was
it because he sinned before
this life or did his parents do it?'
Jesus said 'neither, but that
the WORKs of God should be
made manifest'
... In that case it was a spectacular
miracle but in the 90 and 9 cases
it's something like when I brush
my daughter's hair because
she's disabled
Perfect message!! An Apostolic answer to my prayers. 😇🥰
I have had supernatural aid from God. Twice, I witnessed miracles. Something supernatural intervened and diverted a box from crushing my child. It was a 70 pound, he was just a little guy. 2 inches away from death.
Then one time I was in an accident, and. 5 seconds later, I wasn't.
God is real.
Good talk Elder Bednar
Technology is a tool. You are correct. It can have negative consequences.
(I am guilty of less than courteous behavior.)
I wouldn't call it a quick fix... or suggest it as a scapegoat. 😂 more like a tool.
I am so glad for my knowledge of this powerful and loving God. Hurrah for Zion!
We need more talks like this.
Glad I was able to attend!
Wow! Such a powerful message essential to us all today! Grateful for inspired prophets and apostles who guide us and lead us and teach us! We must work and find how we can become Gods work🫶🏼
A marvelous work and a wonder.
Thank you Elder Bednar
Crazy good talk and lessons for us to implement! And look at the graphics and stage - great work to all the BYU staff for making the beautiful and effective visuals to happen!! Thank you to Elder Bednar for living life to have these insights to share! #grateful
Better than church!
Muito lindo e poderoso espírito ,muito obrigado! Oh, David A. Bednar!
Thanks
My friend we serve in the best mission many thanks for your light to guide us
Amazing! Thank you Elder Bednar!! 🥰
So good!
WHAT!!! A!!! TALK!!!
27:40 I'm sincerely thankful for this message to add to my testimony to act in all I do as a servant and child of heavenly parents.
It has been said a wise person will not waste a good problem.
Thank you!
This was truly incredible!!
wonderful !!!!
Love this thank you elder Bednar🙏💙
Thank you for sharing this. I needed this reminder today.
Thank you Elder Bednar.
Amazing!
What a wonderful address. I felt the spirit and learned a lot.
Nothing but the truth!!!!❤😊
Thank you Elder Bednar, this was very timely and helpful for me right now.
YES l Love Thee LORD AMEN 🙏
The a... i... is programed by a person. I love your talk to still live/work. THANKS, for this video.
Thank you
Amen!
Amazing message ❤️
Thank you. ❤️
Beautiful talk!!
as always, brilliant!
A subtle process.
Some of the greatest examples of the Lord doing His own work are found in the children of Israel in the land of Israel.
For example, the restoration, the 2nd time, to the land of Israel and the Lord's hand in fighting for Israel (1948, 1967, etc.)
I've been given a work from God recently, so this is especially poignant for me.
❤

How does one obtain a written copy of this great BYU talk?
You can possibly find it in a BYU or church linked article in a couple of days. Was it just me or did he read the same couple sentences a few times?
@@jum5238yes, he repeated the admonition several times regarding acting versus being acted upon, vis-a-vis modern technology.
Elder Bednar did not give permissions to publish the text of his speech, but we hope you continue to enjoy this TH-cam video of his remarks!
When did he give this talk?
on 1/23/2024. Just this past tuesday.
Was this am editing mistake, or doe Elder Bednar really repeat the same sentence 3 times in a row?
He repeats it 4 times in a row, with slight changes. For instance: “ongoing conversion”, “becoming a devoted disciple,” “personal revelation,” and “seeking appropriately for the gifts of the spirit.”
@@StageDynamics thanks, I suppose I wasn’t going crazy! Can’t say I’m a huge fan of that format, though
Great listening! @StageDynamics. Thank you!😊
President Nelson will often repeat himself seven times - very symbolic, I think.@@ClintThomsen
The invitation: don’t use AI to do your homework, students 😁😉
I have a boss that was asked by a new employee if he could tell what applications were submitted by AI, and he said, "OH YEAH!" There a a number of "tells" that show it. Including parts where it says "fill in the blank" still in the resume or job experience parts. Or the bland writing seen in the resume. It's a form of cheating. Right out of college, myself and a number of employees all went to work for a company, and it became VERY evident, very quickly that they had cheated their way through college. They didn't have the technical skills that were expected from completing a number of courses, with essential concepts. They often leaned on me to solve things for them, and it was sad. I left there shortly afterwards and went to work for a microprocessor design company.
I've used AI to troubleshoot some of my coding or scripts. It shocks me just how bad it is at some things, and how surprisingly good it is at others. What's also shocking is that there seems to be an issue with professors catching students cheating with it, because, like you said, there are some obvious tells.@@jum5238
Don’t let AI do the work for you
