Cool to see the English version of this video, a great demo of a great pre-amp. Its not every day a pre-amp can match the sound of a high gain amp like a Dual Rec. Monster chugs and shredding, you are a true chug/shred master Silas. 🤘 Consider also the SS series of pre-amp pedals from AMT Electronics.
Very nice comparison, very close sound, but the difference is on the dynamics and I mean about the tightness as you mentioned, the filtering on the tubes creates a dynamic on the attack more noticiable when overdrive that people refers as “sag” and creates that bouncing feeling that a pedal cannot replicate unless a compressor kind of circuit try to emulate a bit but is very difficult as that dynamic is very difficult to emulate if not impossible with a compressor, but gain wise this sound very very similar, just the amp feels brighter and more touch responsive, I prefer the less tight and more bouncy feel of the tube amp

Most preamp pedals aren't any better than using the old Metal Zone through the return of fx loop. This one is definitely no exception; I didn't care at all for the Revv nor the KSR pedal. Haven't tried Grindstein. The Okko Black Beast through the crunch channel or lead channel with the amp's drive/preamp turned down seems a far better idea. What do you recommend for a distortion pedal that can stack with your tube amp's preamp section to get thrash metal saturation (ability to chug) and a nice black metal sound, Silas?
Get a tubescreamer or some random overdrive like everyone else. If you have a good dirt channel on your amp just boost it. You don't need another distortion pedal or preamp.

Just ordered a hunter green one with white knobs. Pumped to run it through my powerstage 200.
I came her to see the Ceres demo and bought the Improve album. I never heard Silas before today but his music is amazing.
