I know this video is a year old, so Roanoke has probably learned now, but project ORION and the Spartan 2 project tjat came after were created to help put down the insurrection. I'm sure Halsey would enjoy knowing people think that her Spartans were created to fight the covenant instead
this is the first video where i feel...."shaken", man anything that have anything to do with bones seem scary. but it's a good video as always, thanks roanoke
You missed how Masterchief also survived a fall from space. Note: in the books a dozen Spartan IIs survived a fall from space to Reach while another dozen die so it is a question of luck.
I like how a lot of the imagery you used is from the company Amgen. They are responsible for creating Nplate which is the core reason I am alive and able to watch your videos. Thank you for including that visual demonstration from them!
I love halo so much, this video is awesome! I like how well it shows the numerous amount of changes the Spartans went through. Keep up the good work and have a nice day!
Hey, love what your doing, but I was hoping you can look into the Monsters in Monster Hunter series. Some of the biology there could be awesome to see how you explain them.
Gotta agree. Every single Monster is a video in and of itself, and there are TONS of them to dissect (literally, too, since hunting is part of research in-universe!) :D
The Spartans, especially John 117, were created to fight humans...not the Covenant. In the Bungie books, there are many instances where Spartans were overpowered in hand to hand combat against elites. Spartan Armor is the key difference, certain armor is seen as dishonorable for Covenant elites. I... miss the times when Halo lore was good.
Even Halsey says in in a cinematic on Halo 4 or 5? When Oni questions her about the reasons the spartan II program was made. Edit: the Oni officer questioning her says it. While she mentioned how they were ready when the covenant attacked.
Halo Lore still be good tho, cuz now it actually is mostly set in stone instead of Bungie's that shifted every couple of years and missed a lot of consistency
Queue rant: I love Bungie's Halo as much as the next fanboy but this comment is so fucking toxic and ignorant it needs a Halo to be fired just to cleanse it. 343 has at no point retconned any of Bungie's Halo lore. They have done nothing but act as a castodian to the original lore and have diligently expanded it into a massive sci-fi universe, most of which has a basis upon threads that Bungie themselves created. Even Joseph Staten has come back to contribute. The only ones to mess up the lore were Bungie themselves! Halo Reach completely ignored Halo Fall of Reach which was established well before it and was the source for all of the information in this video! 343 has had to try and come up with a canon explanation just to make sense of it all and make it fit together. Something Bungie never even bothered to do nor cared about. People who needlessly bash 343 forget that they were originally created for the sole purpose of handling everything Halo lore related outside of the games before Bungie left.
gideon crider that’s tricky. There’s not much on the human body that’s effective for armor. The ribs, legs, arms, and skull are all you really have. It might sound like a lot but remember, dead bones must be hollowed and filled with something. Even with the ceramic carbide. Plus cracking or fracturing the carbide shell compromises the effectiveness. So cutting the bones to pieces is risky. What I’m saying is, it’s really difficult if not highly improbable to work out. So if any Sangheli decides to do that (if it’s not some kind of supreme sacrilege for them to make armor from their fallen enemies) they’d need to R E A L L Y hate Spartans.
Was playing this in the BG on auto play and at 0:49 my eyebrows furrowed. I almost thought I stumbled upon a bad channel until i realized that Roanoke just made an oversight lol.
Roanoke... The human they placed in the armor? He died. Killed by his own spasm of pain, which was accelerated by the armor. As well as many mentioned already, Orion and Spartan-II were created to fight insurrectionist and therefore, human opponents. When the covenants first attacked harvest, it was thought that it was first an insurrection attack. But then the covenant were discovered. The original Mjolnir armor had no shield, it was only after blue team came back with a jackal arm shield that the human scientist retro engineered them to adapt them to the armor.
Having read every halo book and consumed every piece of halo media, i instantly took to comment after the 1st minute of video. Have to say, I wasn't disappointed in all of the halo fans correcting the Spartan creation reasons.
This is an interesting topic because such modifications are an interest to me for writing and story purposes. That said, I'd be curious if you could do a series on Wolverine's physiology since his entire skeleton is covered in a nigh unbreakable metal I can only imagine he suffers considerable pain as his bones constantly pulverize and reform inside of their adamantine shells unless he's specifically stopped growing and his body adapted to this new, permanent handicap.
The Orion project and subsequent Spartan II program were created 10 to 40 years before the human Covenant war, they were created during the insurrection, a human civil war. The Spartan 3 program was the only program designed to specifically fight the covenant during the war. The Spartan 4 program came full swing after the end of the Human Covenant War in 2553
Interesting how much changes the human body have to go though, with details about the biology of the body and it functions, just to wear spartan armor and protect humanity great video
Fascinating video, btw. Impressive! The op sounds dreadfully painful... Broken bones are excruciating, and that would feel like all of them at the same time! Probably complete the operation in stages to improve survivability and management.
I'd love to see you cover the anatomy of different species in Warhammer 40K. Space Marines, Orks and the various species of Tyranid in particular would be really interesting
to the subect of one of the first human testers in a mk4 mjolnir armor...it is stated in the first halo novel, that the spartans watched a video in the briefing before donning them the first time, where the tester shook himself into chunky meatpaste by his own painresponses
By the god emperor, you, Roanoke shall one day, give us a biography of the adeptus astartes. (I'm asking you to do a video on the warhammer 40k series.)
Fun fact, the guy they tested the Mjolnir armor on went into shock from the initial injuries. It was him seizing in shock that caused his death. The armor amplified his spasms and basically tore him apart
There are also modifications to nerve system, which included adding myelin to ALL nerves, responsible for movement and muscles, increasing speed of nerve signal by 5-10 times, compared to normal, and making Spartans much quicker to react, compared to normal humans.
Spartans: Peak performance that a human could reach. Has nearly unbreakable bones and can think in slow motion. Random Jackal sniper: Ayo Imma end this man’s whole career.
The Spartan program was started over twenty years before first contact with the convenant in 2525 It was a super soldier program intended to crush human rebellion on the frontier. It made a convenient basis for when they encountered a real threat outside of themselves. And we really need to acknowledge that the augmentations Spartans did receive was so it could handle the power of Mjolnir
It's because of channels like this that I know so much about biology, advanced physics, dinosaurs, writing, and almost nothing about human interaction. I'm told food is a good way to make a girl like you? What do you say Johnson? You know what the ladies like.
I would like to point out that the Jiralhanae in question that broke the Spartans shoulder was wearing a suit of Power Armor, and the Spartan 2 in question didn't have the full capacity as the ones like Master Chief and these Spartans washed out during the first attempt at augmentation. Only due to Oni improving the process were they able to go back and create facsimiles to the more intense Spartan 2 augmentations
Evan, your correct for the Spartan 11'S but the 111's were created as a cheaper, and more efficient way to fight the covenant, and the 1111' are a replacement for ODST'S and marines.

Conversation about the Master Chief between Spartan Locke and the Arbiter at the start of Halo 2: Anniversary.
I love Halo, so this topic really pleases me. Is there any chance you can do an exploration of the Gears 5 Kraken?
Karn from Gears of War Judgement, too, please.
Oh hey you again 0:
Speaking of super soldiers when are you gonna do a Space Marine?
That'd be pretty educational...
Warhammer? That's barely scientific, let alone realistic.
I know this video is a year old, so Roanoke has probably learned now, but project ORION and the Spartan 2 project tjat came after were created to help put down the insurrection. I'm sure Halsey would enjoy knowing people think that her Spartans were created to fight the covenant instead
Spooktober, a video about halo spartans skeletons.
Oh yeah, it's all coming together
this is the first video where i feel...."shaken", man anything that have anything to do with bones seem scary. but it's a good video as always, thanks roanoke
This dude put so much amazing effort and time into explaining all this. Great vid
Glad you enjoyed it bro!
I've actually learned alot from this vid, thanks Roanoke gaming
So glad you're starting a series about halo!!!!
Always happy to see another Ranoke video. Keep up the great work!
I legit got from straight 7s to 8s and 9s in biology class since i started watching your channel
There goes that Roanoke boy again, putting the science in science fiction.
You missed how Masterchief also survived a fall from space.
Note: in the books a dozen Spartan IIs survived a fall from space to Reach while another dozen die so it is a question of luck.
Multiple falls from space. I think at that point we can say the good doctor may have given with a REALLY nice gel layer.
I like how a lot of the imagery you used is from the company Amgen. They are responsible for creating Nplate which is the core reason I am alive and able to watch your videos. Thank you for including that visual demonstration from them!
maybe you could do a video on the 19 extra organs that the space marines from warhammer 40k are given?
that would be fun
I love video dissections like these showing the intricacies that the science goes through. It really makes the lore of Halo even more believable
I love halo so much, this video is awesome!
I like how well it shows the numerous amount of changes the Spartans went through. Keep up the good work and have a nice day!
Spartans actually existed before first contact with the covenant. But you already know now so. I love your videos man
Hey, love what your doing, but I was hoping you can look into the Monsters in Monster Hunter series. Some of the biology there could be awesome to see how you explain them.
Ghost X474 That'd be great.
Gotta agree. Every single Monster is a video in and of itself, and there are TONS of them to dissect (literally, too, since hunting is part of research in-universe!) :D
@@GunlessSnake I'm a proud New World Hunter. Lol
Valtrax first would be nice, a jet dragon very much so awsome if you ask me =D
That would be pretty great and interesting
I learn more shit from this dude, than I ever did in school. Thank you for the videos dude! Keep it up!
Cool video. Never really played Halo, but really enjoy any in depth research of the different biology we see in these different worlds.
After watching alot of your stuff, I become a lot more interested in biology
4:38 Hypo meaning low
*Chubbyemu has joined the chat*
wow thanks mr bones for keeping me alive
Ooooooo. Always open to some nice spartan lore and bio. Solid vid my dude. Sorry I haven't made it to many streams lately. Job and such .
So.. I want a elite who has made armor out of spartan bones...
gideon crider that’s tricky.
@@ltchugacast131 and kill a bunch.
@@ltchugacast131 swap the elite out for a brute
I think my Gravity Hammer coated in the Blood of Sangheili, and Jiralhanae Orphans is cooler.
@@007wmd7 Brutes would be far more likely to do such a thing
That is some painful procedure. Had to grit my teeth for some of the explanation especially the shaving bone part. Also, do Shepard!
Love this channel! Really enjoyed the dead space biology lore in particular, praying we get more Halo stuff too
This is one of the other videos I've want to see from this channel from the very beginning.
1:23
My slapped that elites glaive out of the way with an SMG, mad respect
Nice video dude. Always been interested in Halo lore, haha.
I know its been done a lot, but I'd love a video like this from you on spacemarines from 40k.
A lot better than going to school, and it's actually interesting...
Holy crap dude I'm so happy you made this
ROE! I adore you’re work, but this by far was my favourite and the best in my own opinion, super interesting.
You should do the Creeper from Minecraft. Im telling you, there has to be some interesting biology there
This is an interesting topic because such modifications are an interest to me for writing and story purposes.
You know what else would be cool,
A video on Crysis nano-suit suit Augmentations .
We all know that Alky/Prophet have bones made from metal (shit he have been through)
The Orion project and subsequent Spartan II program were created 10 to 40 years before the human Covenant war, they were created during the insurrection, a human civil war.
As always, an amazing video
This video made me never want to leave my bed and stay safe
to the subect of one of the first human testers in a mk4 mjolnir armor...it is stated in the first halo novel, that the spartans watched a video in the briefing before donning them the first time, where the tester shook himself into chunky meatpaste by his own painresponses
I was so immersed with your talk about bone marrow, that I forgot this was a Halo video.
By the god emperor, you, Roanoke shall one day, give us a biography of the adeptus astartes. (I'm asking you to do a video on the warhammer 40k series.)
no asking. the Emperor orders him to do a video on the astartes.
Now we are talking!! Love your videos
Spartans: Peak performance that a human could reach. Has nearly unbreakable bones and can think in slow motion.
Random Jackal sniper: Ayo Imma end this man’s whole career.
I felt like this was a health video. Thank you. ☺️
Holy shit, the best lesson of anatomy I ever had!
Loved the episode!
The Spartan program was started over twenty years before first contact with the convenant in 2525
It was a super soldier program intended to crush human rebellion on the frontier.
It made a convenient basis for when they encountered a real threat outside of themselves.
And we really need to acknowledge that the augmentations Spartans did receive was so it could handle the power of Mjolnir
Best episode yet
No lie this kinda helped me in my anatomy and physiology class
It's because of channels like this that I know so much about biology, advanced physics, dinosaurs, writing, and almost nothing about human interaction. I'm told food is a good way to make a girl like you? What do you say Johnson? You know what the ladies like.
Yeah yeah yeah the imperial guard wipe the floor with all these fucking Aliens
So there’s more halo videos to come? Yaaaaaaaasssssss!!
Man I rember when you where at like 30k subs your growing fast
Question: are Orion Project operatives, Spartan 2's, and Spartan 3s immune to the flood either fully or partially?
Blue team John, Fred, Linda, Kelly no but the flood will go for a normal human first then a augmented human
"game end", nice. idk if thats a pyro reference but i like it
Ah yes, the normal human in mojolnir. The 1 experiment killed the guy and the armor tore his body apart. A very painful death.
Not only am I early on a Roanoke video buts it’s also a halo one? What is this Christmas?
Evan, your correct for the Spartan 11'S but the 111's were created as a cheaper, and more efficient way to fight the covenant, and the 1111' are a replacement for ODST'S and marines.
Sounds like a blast to have done XD
You should do some Warhammer 40k stuff. Hearing you discuss the Tyranids or the Space Marines biology would be amazing
You released a video about skeletons in the perfect time of the year, you know...
