I personally have a true LG IPS and normal VA panel tv. I can say hands down IPS is way ahead in terms of picture quality. In the VA panel the whites look way too blown out in normal viewing which make the color contrast washed out.
I think this a LG specific issue with their VA screen models. With other brands using VA's the whites seem to be less blown out. I think LG uses this trick to increase the brightness of their screens.
No way IPS is better than VA with the 6 monitors ive tried. Blacks are whack on IPS so how can the color be accurate? Only a proper black backgroud gives true color as it should be hence OLED>VA>IPS. People mistake bright colors for good colors.

I was comparing this on two calibrated oled's as a reference to get a fair comparison as possible. The results are: Both the VA and IPS are pretty off compared to oled as expected but VA resembles oled a bit more than IPS especially in areas where dark should be dark on IPS it's a blue tint. Highlights are 80% more accurate on VA, some were more on IPS. Both panels have off the red color but IPS has a bit more accurate reproduction where VA on the other hand has more details and depth. For some reason the IPS panel had better sharpness in some parts where the VA was a bit blurry. Overall the VA panel resembles the reference more than IPS, if it would have more accurate colors and sharpness it would be a pretty damn good lcd panel.

The larger models are IPS as well if you want to go for 55”, the links are in the description. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 👍🏽
Are you planning to watch it in a well-lit room from an angle? Otherwise, VA is better.
@@itsJPhere yes, it's for my living room. It's going to be next to a window, and we usually watch it from the dinner table too. So yes, well-lit and from an angle haha IPS is the best?
@@TechSteve Thanks, Steve!
For Better Motion go for VA panel!
Nope, lower contrast = faster motion | higher contrast = slower motion
IPS panels have better motion
Explanation: the higher the contrast is more time it takes for the picture to make a transition from black to white and vice versa
0:51 sorry but i beg to disagree. Its the other way around. Isnt just my eyes? Nevertheless it just made me convinced even more that i rather see it in person than be swayed by random opinion of youtubers.
Yes, that’s what you should do. But without TH-camrs you would have no product to even see without going to a store. We make the investment for you guys to at least give you a general idea
The ignorance is outstanding.
VA has better brightness than IPS .
That horse in the reference video was on some ped's.
ips always better
Im looking at the LG up8000pua is this VA or IPS? Or how can I differentiate? Thanks @techsteve
No way, this website will help www.displayspecifications.com/en
please darkroom test
The fact that LG buys VA panels says enough. The Samsung horse video looks best on a Panasonic plasma BTW.
ips!
Ips wins
