I like how he’s talking about crazy tech lingo and quickly clicking on things I’ll never find or understand. I give up!

Would love to know your appearance settings, however you have it set up is always so pleasing to look at in every video.

If I'm making an IR for a 2 seconds reverb, should the IR-Length be the same length in the IR Maker? Thanks for a super useful video!

better still: how can I create IRs for software (not via hardware) like reverb VSTs?

Hi, I would like to see an updated version of this video using Studio One 5 with current apps etc, especially for guitar / Ampire........many thanks

I'm pretty sure the IR Maker hasn't updated so the process is pretty much like 99% exactly the same in Studio One 5.

    Thank you!
    Two questions:
Creating an impulse response for a large room, is that similar to making one for a guitar cabinet? Will you be covering that?
About file organization: after making changes to my own preset (Impact, in this case) when I 'replace preset', why does S1 make a new copy of the preset in the open folder and not update the version in the sub folder I created where it was already saved?
Thanks again for timely and useful content. : )

      Regarding your 1st question:
You would literally have to set up speakers to play the Frequency Sweep then a Mic to record it back in, and keep hitting "Start IR Recording" (then cancelling before its complete) to get your levels right...
The output of the speakers would have to be high enough to "excite" the room, then your input levels would have to be high enough to record a decent signal, but not too loud that it distorts/clips..
      Regarding your 2nd question:
It's hard for me to answer without seeing what's happening on your system.. But 2 quick pointers I can give you would be A) Click the Home Tab (Home Icon) in the Studio One Browser - and at the bottom there is an option to "Re-Index Presets" B) just save them to the main presets folder - then move them (manually) from you finder (or Explorer) and then Re-Index your presets so Open Air puts the presets in the proper sub folders.
      Hope this helps..
      Cheers, M🍻

@@marcushuyskensmusic meant to say thanks sooner. about the ir maker, clearly not the tool for the job in question so I can stop stressing about it! (got the speakers and the mics, just couldn't get the plug in to do anything useful)
it was impact presets. I will work on the re-indexing. thanks for the info.

How would you do this for capturing a guitar/bass cab or rig?
