Build A House In 28 MINUTES?? SNAP Together Homes

  • Imagine being able to snap together a tiny house in 28 minutes. According to Backyard workroom, they say you can with their tiny home building kits you can do it yourself. Their home construction is similar to modular homes but they refer to it as component home construction and it's as easy to snap together like legos. They also make office sheds as well. In this video, we challenged them to see if their manufactured homes actually do snap together as easily as they say and if you really can get it done in the time it takes to boil a sack of crawfish.

      I hate HOA. In my opinion it's a rip off and a borderline scam. My HOA just started making anybody buying a house in the community with a credit score of under 700 pay a $5,000 fee. My question is where does that money go? The only plus is they take care of our lawns and we have security with a gated entrance. Still not worth the $400 a month though IMO.

My gf and I have considered one of the home depot ones simply because we can do with we want with it insulation and wall materials wise and we can add a wall for a seperate shower and toilet room. can't do that with these SIP houses.

    2:20 reminds me of a "quarantine camp" 😬😆 Beautiful color. I will be moving to North Texas and looking for land and a "Tiny Home". Will be getting a lawn shed, She-shed, and possibly guest house later. William keep these in mind

    So I could buy some land in the Appalachian mountains and have one these built in a day? Add solar panels for electricity, build an outhouse, dig a well, plant a garden and go off the grid? Sign me up.

      Septic is the big one, you're gonna run into needing a septic permit and have septic pits dug.
      Pre-pandemic it costs I'd say 4000, but a septic system can now run up 8000 post-pandemic and have huge delays.
      Delivery will also be delayed, having a well dug will also be delayed.
      Expect it in 5+ months done.
      The main thing though is drainage. Drainage, drainage, drainage, always remember that's in the initial excavation of the land.
      Remember that you can run into all sorts of problems, the cost of setting it up is the cost of the rent you pay before moving in.
      Also, with gas sky high, the cost of living out in the country...well, the country let's just say is a gas-centric existence. Your whole existence will rely on gasoline.
      Electric cars are too much, there are electric bicycles for $3000 that can now run 200+ miles though on a single charge, and better ones coming too.

    • @KristinaSmallhorn
      @KristinaSmallhorn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      That will depend on you local area. I will not need a building permit since I won't be getting the one with a bathroom but will need a permit for the electrical.

    very interesting. I have looked at Intershelter homes (dome shaped) and they say those have at least a 20+ year life expectancy. Do you know what this manufacturer is estimating to be the useful life of these structures? I have heard of SIPs delaminating over time.
