This is a beautiful tiny house. The use of space is unparalleled. I personally would have used a flushing toilet and added air conditioning. I own a duplex (two story) tiny home that I constructed against my barn. We used the barn's hayloft for 35% of our upstairs house. The two houses share utilities which consists of (2) 200 amp power panels, a 150 gallon butane tank, city water, a 1,000 gallon septic system and a 50 gallon water heater. The two houses are approximately 525 sqft each. Both have kitchens, complete full bath & showers, laundry with full size washer and dryers and the upstairs unit even has a full size dishwasher. Both have double stainless sinks and butane gas stoves. I did most all the work labor and design myself. The total cost ten years ago was $53,000 USD. This duplex is suitable for two family couples. Our downstairs unit is no longer occupied so we use it as a studio music and art area also as a guest house. This duplex has completely separate entry areas and the houses cannot be entered from one to the other. Very private in that regard. My wife and I have lived upstairs for 8 years now and love our home. The best part is no mortgage and no rent. We are retired now so owning our own homes allows us to live very well on a modest income.
What a lovely host and charming tiny home. I agree with what she said about moving the refrigerator to the corner, where she said the seating area used to be; it will make the kitchen feel much bigger indeed. And if they landscape the yard and garden with a thick hedge, and a variety of native plants, all the way around the property, they'll dampen the sound and make the home more of an oasis. How fun to see it now and imagine what might change in the future. Thank you for the tour!

I live in San Francisco, homes built around the same time had separate toilet from the bathroom. The toilet room were smaller than an outhouse and the doors open outward, usually into a hallway. The closet had windows to let in light, because there were no electricity in the closet. Nice article thank you very much. (PS It looks like a movie set house front façade).
~dons flame suit~ That house is cheesy... ~exits stage left~ That is a cool house though. Wonder if she can't legally add a little to it to get a couple hundred sq. ft. more floor space and cover the stairs to the lower level.
How could you think of adding onto such a quirky home with it’s historical value…not for everyone but for those who can best be the custodians..keeping it as is..
Yes, new fridge 'smaller' for sure, other than that I absolutely LOVE the whole thing, could live there in a minute, love the curved 'hobbit' door and the window in the closet, so adorably cool.
Cool house and story! I would definitely go for a much smaller fridge and oven set up. I imagine the original kitchen was custom built and furniture tended to be smaller scale. She made a unique and creative choice….. and thankfully it’s survived all this time!

This homeowner would make an excellent TV show host on something like this old house
I love this sweet little home. Needs plants!! 🌺🌿🌼
Brilliant!!
Now this is a tiny home. Cute little garden space and lots of character.
Best tiny home EVER!!!!

That house is cheesy...

That is a cool house though. Wonder if she can't legally add a little to it to get a couple hundred sq. ft. more floor space and cover the stairs to the lower level.
Personally, I wouldn't want to change the original integrity of it. It's perfect. ❤
How could you think of adding onto such a quirky home with it’s historical value…not for everyone but for those who can best be the custodians..keeping it as is..
Wait did she just say 55cm? That’s 22-ish inches 😮 Very quaint and unique ❤ Love that she kept the downstairs the same style 😊
I love her laugh.
That front door is cool. It's an analog Ring "Doorbell" knocker. You can see the people and talk to them without opening the door.
