I recommend you check out the Roxon KS2E (or KS2 Elite). It's a great and affordable tool and it's very different from the competition. I'm waiting for mine to arrive in a few days...

Jeffrey Happy Friday & Shabbat Shalom. A nice looking & useful basic tool for a budget price. Handy for carrying in the car or out and about when you don't have your home tool kit with you . I used to have an early model Leatherman in my office desk drawer at work for around 30 years, I never actually pocket carried it as it was too bulky & when I retired I gifted it to my replacement & as far as I know he is still using it in the office. When not abused these sort of multi-tools last a lifetime - probably several lifetimes, if they are stainless steel & don't rust or corrode away.

Quality wise I think the Swiss Tech firmly hold's the middle ground between the top end expensive models and the really cheap versions, and yet it is the same prices to really cheap versions, which is far as I'm concerned makes a good value for money. It's certainly been built well enough to last a very long time if used correctly. I'm going to see if I can improve the file on it, at which point it will be truly brilliant.

@@Jeff.Lippman.Presents FYI although I am a lifelong Swiss Army Knife collector & EDC user I have recently purchased some more traditional pocket knives from Case , Rough Ryder & Queen City . Most have locking blades but one of the Rough Ryders - the RR 2181 is UK legal with a sturdy slip joint Wharncliffe blade just under 3" .Its a swayback with a black / blue pattern denim Micarta handle & the Queen City QC 001 pocket knife is a Canoe shaped traditional Gentleman's knife with Abalone handles & a 2.5" & 2"blades . As far as I know the RR 2181 is on sale in the UK, not sure if the QC001 is too, both are reasonable well made & budget priced , if you are interested in any other knives outside of SAK's

I had no idea this existed until today. I have a leatherman wave and love it to bits. It's always on my work tool belt. Think I will pick one of these up. Would be perfect for anywhere You need it but are likely to lose it. I'm thinking traveling.

I wouldn't say it's as good as your wave, but it does make a useful backup.

Excellent analysis, a Leatherman Wave costs 5 or 6 times more and it's only twice as good

Newer version as Swisstech Multitool 18 in 1 is better in every single aspect.

It certainly looks like it, unfortunately I don't have one as of yet to test.
