    And every baby develops differently and might not do these things on the same timeline. All of my children hit their milestones at different times so if you’re baby isn’t doing everything “on time”, please don’t worry💜just make sure to talk to your pediatrician so they can help you keep track and reassure you that they’re just fine.

    I’m an OT in Peddu for 33 years. It’s very frustrating for me that people don’t take more time to focus on the importance of Crawling. Crawling is probably the most crucial milestone a child can do to help them develop and have the most success in future learning in behavior. This is when their tonic neck reflex is get further integrated, they begin to develop near and far point focusing, it helps to develop the artist in their hands to get ready for intricate fine motor skills, helps build core strength and most importantly gets to two sides of the body working in a coordinated fashion as well as strengthens your eye hand coordination had to mention of a bunch of other sensory system benefits… this is a wonderful video but it be nice if you did some thing to emphasize Crawling benefits!

      My husband and my twin brother both skipped crawling and went straight to walking/running at 8 months. Both are on the gifted scale and have no problems physically with art/seeing colors/eye hand coordination, etc. In fact, my husband is a designer and my brother is an extremely talented wedding photographer featured in many wedding and photography magazines.
      To say it must not be skipped for a child to function is simply not true. Your child could just be not interested in crawling and want to walk instead. I am seeing this tendency with my 4 month old already as he can already stand assisted for a few seconds at a time. He has even taken a few steps with me holding his hands! However, he has zero interest in crawling... I think some babies just don't want to crawl, and that's OK. Telling parents that your child will not be ok if they skip the crawling stage is messed up. My brother and my husband turned out great, I'm pretty sure my son will be fine as well...
      Afterall, his verbal skills are off the chart and he is already recognizing colors. He clearly has the gifted gene. Some children develop differently then others and that is ok.

    I think every single month counts and is equally important to a newborn. Breaking it up into 2-mont increments isn't quite enough for those who are looking for sub milestones. Going from baby needs support to "can lift head entirely on it's own" is a HUGE difference and I think there is a lot of wiggle room. Something more specific, like they can hold their head up for 1,2 or 3 minutes at a time by themselves before falling down. Something like that. At what point does the baby go from "can hold head up for a bit" to "can hold head up entirely on their own"? There is more subtlety to the early months than you say.

      one way is how i learned is one parent speaks another language and the other another it'll force the kid to learn to be able to speak to their kid

  • @alanaalbarado2357
    @alanaalbarado2357 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was taught that in a multiple language household each parent should speak only in one language to their baby. If one or both parents speak to their baby in multiple languages, it can cause delay in the baby’s language development. It’s suggested that each parent pick one language they want to teach their baby and speak only in that language. Example: mom is fluent in three languages and dad is fluent in French and English….
    Mom to baby “Hola” (Speaks only in Spanish to baby)
    Dad to baby “Hello” (Speaks only English to baby)
    Then the baby will learn both English and Spanish without any confusion or delay in speech.☺️ And of course as they get older you can always add in other languages for them to learn.

    Thank you, being a FTM and social distancing I have been making myself crazy over wether or not my son has been hitting those milestones, I’m not around any other parents or kids to assure myself that my beautiful 5mo old is “normal”. Mommy groups on social media just makes it worse because of the competitive nature of them and the fear mongering they cause Bu jumping to untrained diagnosis of things that could be wrong with your baby. This video really set my mind at ease and brought me peace that I haven’t had in a while.

    My boy is 12 weeks old and hes struggling to keep his head up during tummy time. But I was never informed (as a first time mum) of the importance of tummy time. So hes very late to beginning tummy time. I hope it doesnt effect his motor or fine skills later on. Everything else he is on track with. I'd even say his language skills are advanced which is amazing. Since I sing songs and I sing him nursery rhymes when we play

    I need help! My baby is 5mthsshe was born 6weeks early as a premie. I think she has anxiety of some sort because when we are out at a family's house or somewhere unfamiliar with noise she will check out her surroundings, evaluate the room and starts to cry. Once she starts there is no consoling her. Not even me her mother and she then begins to shake and gag from being so upset. Has anyone ever had this problem?

He will hold onto things, pinch stuff, transfer from one hand to another but he will not put things in his mouth. It was rarely. And he didn't want to eat too. Just one nom and that's all. FTM here, my baby was army crawling at 4.5 months, full crawling at 5 months and is now pulling to a stand and cruising at 6mos. It's so hard to find any resources if this is "normal".

    • @katiemcrae5314
      @katiemcrae5314 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup. There's such a wide range of normal. Mine sat at 4mo. Could sit and okay unaided at 5mo. Walked at 8mo. I can't remember her cruising much though 🤔 but then some don't until the later end. It's all normal. Comparing is really stressful and not worth it

He’s almost 4 months and hitting 90% of the milestones would be he right on schedule for ahead based on his corrected age?

At 6 months she was trying to stand on her own sometimes 3-6 seconds. She’s 9 months now, she hasn’t cruised, never saw her cruise but she pulls herself up and would stand. And then she tries to put her hands up and down with her body like she’s trying to bounce or something. She’s been saying her sister’s name Arara (Aurora) and her name Awewine (Adeline).

      It's a little odd, typically children at that age would have moved in to wanting an Android.

    I know a baby that would call the family dog dada so I always found that to be funny. She had words for mom, grandma, grandpa, family friends, but dada was for dad and the dog.

    What happens when mom only sees 10 mo. Baby girl 2 days a week. And the dad n grandparents take care of baby. Can that cause problems w baby development?

    My baby started rolling from tummy to back at his 3 months of age. But around the beginning of 4 months, he stopped rolling. He mostly interested in sitting with pillow support. He also initiates sitting without support, but of course he still needs more time to learn sitting independently. Now he is 4.5 months. But he doesn’t roll from back to tummy either. He enjoys bouncing on his feet holding my hands. I am not sure if I should be worried about his rolling skill. Your video is very informative, could please help me with it.
    Oh I forgot to tell you he started cooing and make sounds like, “booo” “da da” and “A A”.
    Thank you.

    Is it true that bilingual/trilingual babies talk a little later than babies who only learn one? My baby is regularly exposed to 3 languages at a time and I keep wondering if she will be delayed in speaking bc of it 😳

    My little girl is 2 months and she knows one vowel: “EEEEE!!!!” That’s her thing lol. She just squeals. The best is when she’s so happy and she looks like she wants to laugh and instead she lets out a “EEEEEEE” haha

    Thank you so much. That your not by the books and every baby is different. My son at 5months said mom and 6months dad. Now 8months he knows who’s mom and who’s dad. If I walk out the room he calls for me . And if my husband leaves he cry’s for dad. And said dad all day but when he cry’s he knows to call me lol

    You dont know for a fact that babies dont social smile before 2 months . Yes they grimace with gas but when a baby younger then 2 months old will hold your gaze and return a smile that's not gas.

    • @JohnDoe-nq5pk
      @JohnDoe-nq5pk 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They said 'typically' its gas. That leaves room for genuine smiles.

    How do you incorporate language in your babies life ? When should you introduce another language ?

    • @sherinespencer2299
      @sherinespencer2299 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If i knew any other language I would start as soon as that baby came home from the hospital, I would use both. My client did that with her son, and it sounds so good to hear them communicating

    • @holi117

      Im not bilingual but i’d say from day 1, use both/ all languages so baby starts learning and hearing both.
