great review!! JL's products definitely better than NH , the seats are among the best in the world, i flew both JL & NH on transpacific flights back to back , the only thing that NH's 773 are newer compare to JL, I can't wait to fly JL's a350-1000 later this year , heard that they will strat with JFK-HND route 1st
JAL’s domestic A350-900 seats are brilliant - can’t wait to see what their A350-1000 has to offer! I believe it will eventually replace all their B777-300 destinations.
Thanks for sharing. I recently returned from Tokyo on BA and the 14hr flight was truly awful. They served a meal and drinks after take off and then we had nothing for almost 8 hours - when we asked for a snack, they had nothing apart from drinks. Never fly BA economy to or from Japan.
That’s such a shame. BA’s product used to be great - I had good such a good flight from Narita to London (pre-COVID and pre-Ukraine.) Hope they sort themselves out, while they are considerably cheaper than JAL and ANA, they have serious competition.
Fly JAL London to Tokyo frequently , 14 hour flight. JAL are no different to BA, a meal within 2 hours of boarding, then lights out and window blinds down - even at 11am! A snack is served about 8 hours into flight, usually consisting of bread bun. Then 2 hours before landing, a light snack is served
I’m not too sure. During covid I don’t believe they had the self-service snack bar open, but now when booking with JAL all mid/long-haul flights indicate that free snacks are available. (I believe they would be served in the galley kitchen.)
Thanks for all the thoughtful details you showed! I have a question: does the armrest go all the way up? I'm gonna fly with my girlfriend, and we wanna know if we could lean on each other 😊
£800 isn't too bad for a one way fare - booked almost a year in advance. You can get one way fares for as little as £400 one way with some Chinese airlines.
Glad you enjoyed the review. The number of power outlets depends on the aircraft. On the B777-300, there is one power outlet is shared between two seats. On the B787, every seat has its own power outlet. Hope this cleared this up!
Thanks for sharing this, I'm flying to Japan from London in September. One of my biggest fears is flying so I'm trying to watch more vlogs similar to this one to get used to the idea of the flight. I decided to book with Japan Airlines which seems to have been a good choice rather than BA. Don't suppose you have any tips for remaining calm on a flight? 😅
Remember that flying is over 5000 times more safe than travelling in your car to the airport. The pilots flying you are among the best in the world (Japan Airlines has one of the highest safety standards in the world.) Takeoff might feel a bit scary if you’re not used to it, but once you’re up in the air you’ll be fine. The plane is quite big on the London-Tokyo route so there’s hardly any shaking mid flight. Hope this helps.
Yes - at this current time Russian airspace is still closed to the vast majority of airlines. Planes will likely continue to avoid Russian airspace until the war with Ukraine ends and tensions with Russia subside (which could be never…)
Japan Airlines still requires masks to be worn onboard. It’s not a requirement in most public spaces in Japan but the vast majority wear a mask out of courtesy.
Japanese masks are not polite. There are few people who care about corona and wear it. The reason I wear it is because a lot of other people wear it. 2 Many Japanese people are confident in their faces and wear them to hide their complexes. 3 Japanese heroes wear masks around their mouths, while Western heroes such as Batman cover their eyes. that cultural difference. Many young people are out. Quite a few people are out. I'm also removing it, but I almost never feel pointed out or stared at. When visiting Japan for sightseeing, it is okay not to wear a mask. However, there are cultural differences, so please understand the Japanese who are wearing masks. Also, Japanese people understand well that masks are meaningless for corona prevention. it is not obligatory.
@@エメリアウンコピョーデル Despite Mr Kishida encouraging people to take off their masks, when I visited Japan, the vast majority of people (~98%) were still wearing masks. Here in the UK when the government stopped the mask mandate, the day after almost nobody was wearing a mask. Definitely a big cultural difference.
Awesome looking flight! JAL, unlike some of its competitors, has kept a feeling of passenger dignity even in economy. Cheers, Guy
Thank you! Japan Airlines’s cabin is maintained to an excellent standard.
Another great experience flying JAL, one of my favourite Airlines. I ❤ JAL!
Thanks for sharing! 👍
Thank you - glad you enjoyed!
Terrific and comprehensive video. Great Job! Thank you!
Thanks - glad it was helpful!
Very nice review

thanks for the review. do they offer free snacks all the time in the galley kitchen, or as i read somewhere called SKY OASIS?

The armrest does go all the way up, yes.
Looking forward to JAL A350-1000!
Indeed! Seems like they will be introduced on the Haneda-New York route first, I’m sure London will soon follow!
800 UK pounds sounds very cheap. Is that for a flight booked in the UK?

Great Video! Which seat number did you pick?
Can’t remember off the top of my head - I think I was seat 25K in the smaller forward economy cabin.
Thanks for the review, is the power outlet shared between seats or every seat got power outlet?

This is a good video to help -

Usually, parts of Europe, Middle East, east Asia, Singapore and Oceania have the best flights.
I notice you’ve left out America there…can’t say I disagree!

Did they still take this route?

I flew with another airline to avoid the mask nonsense.

JAL is better than BA but more expensive. Watch out for the Border Force goons at LHR.
