- This is simply the best cinnamon coffee cake recipe ever. This moist, vanilla-scented cake has a sweet ribbon of cinnamon running through it, and it’s topped with a crisp streusel topping. Drizzle a little vanilla glaze over the top for extra decadence.

I started cooking and baking when I was 8 and haven't looked back, not only is a great interest but it teaches you how to follow scientific direction, experiment, express yourself with creativity and love, you can learn to feed yourself/others and depend on yourself!
This past year I lost my mom, my mother in law, and my step mom😢! I started watching you, and I love everything you make! My mom use to make coffee cake, so I was SO excited to try this! I remember my days at the college, I used to go to the cafeteria and order a piece of coffee cake, the best company for my cup of coffee.
I love the extra insights you offer on salt, sugar, acid etc. Such valuable details that most recipes/videos don’t offer.

Made as directed and I doubt I'll ever stray from this recipe again. The texture is lovely and soft, it's sweet, but not overly so... seriously it's just perfect. The house smells delicious, too.

I made your recipe for Hummingbird cake I’m in my 60’s never made a cake from scratch before it came out wonderful and so moist and delicious, now I’m ready to try this coffee cake , I grew up in NY where there were fabulous bakeries so I never had to bake or learn, now in SW Ohio where there are no “ real “ bakeries so I’m starting late but I enjoy watching you bake and this coffee cake looks delicious cant wait to try. This recipe brings me back to my early teenage years trying out my first attempts at cooking & baking. This recipe is very similar to my neighbor’s recipe called “Sour Cream Coffee Cake” which I still have handwritten on an index card marked “recipe from Trudy.”
It was my first crumb topping and such a delicious and easy snack cake for beginning bakers but you can make it anytime, all your life.
It did not have the icing drizzle, but it did have some coco powder in the cinnamon sugar layer, which I recommend.

I luv, luv you baking tutorials 😊. I am a cooking /baking teacher at summer camp and teach alot of baking : cake, doughs/bread and cookie recipes and I always tell my studnets that salt is essential in baking or else the cakes and cookies can be so as I say disgustingly sweet. I compare it to the sweetness you'd taste from a store bought jar frosting that's so ,so sweet instead of a homemade frosting with depth when salt and other extracts added. I like how you described how salt helps alot to give the desserts dimension and not to be sweet just for the sake of it being sweet just because it is classified as a dessert. Will definitely try this coffee cake recipe soon 👍🏾 👍🏾!

Just made this! Smells sooo good cooking and came out amazing. I could not do the cinnamon layer in the middle!! LOL so I just made the layer into a swirl through out the batter. Still very good! I grew up eating coffee cake! My mom made it just like you, except no sour cream. I loved her coffee cake and now I am going to make yours, as I think the sour cream will make it even better! Definitely making this soon, as I haven’t made it in a long time! Yum!

I made this with a dash of cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice in the batter and substituting vanilla extract for orange extract and it was AMAZING
