What's great about collecting the lures out of the water is removing our lost property back out of our beautiful waters and your recycling them, its a great way to recycle and keep our waters clear from our rubbish. you are so resourceful.
Hi Eric, watch Andrew Camarata here on youtube. He has some really great videos on removing stumps and clearing driveways. What he does is pull the stump out of the ground, grab/lift/shake it, use the bucket to clear off a lot of the dirt off the stump, then lift the stump high in the air and drop it right back into the hole it was pulled out of. All of this is done over the hole it was pulled out of, and it fills in the hole while getting most of the dirt off. From there, he either cuts the stumps and hauls them away, cuts and burns them, or tosses them in an unused part of the woods where it'll decompose and provide habitats. 80 stumps, though... definitely get the dirt off of them and consider taking them to a mulch manufacturer or weathering them for firewood next year. Great job out there! We're coming up in January to dig our own. 1800 feet of driveway... gonna be fun. :) Find his driveway/stumps videos here: th-cam.com/users/AndrewCamaratasearch?query=removing%20stumps%20driveway
My 1st thought once I saw the tractor, "Eric's going to have some fun today". Looks good. What you two have accomplished in 2yrs is amazing & fun for us to watch. I lived in northern Michigan for 25yrs. Watching you guys makes me homesick. We started out with little money & did a lot of what you guys are doing. Enjoy!
if you've already piled them up maybe turn them into compost or consider Hügelkultur. The biomass from the wood debris is piled in long rows and covered in compost and then topped with topsoil. you leave it for 5-6 months and then you have really great fertile raised beds which last years. The wood continues to enrich the soil as it decays over time. Since winter is coming you could prep the mounds now and let them settle over winter and have great fertile rows come planting season. Thanks for sharing I love watching all your videos seeing all the fantastic views of Alaska
I like that you pick up old lures. Really got me thinking about how much fishing trash there must be in our waterways. You scored! The beserk dog footage had us cracking up!

Depending on your water table level you may want to consider digging a big hole and burying all those stumps and roots, then use the good dirt for grading out the driveway and building site, with all that dirt the brush pile will never burn , good job guys
You should make a wood frame 🪟 with chicken wire in the middle to display all the lures you find and hang it on the wall ☺️. Would be something fun to decorate with in your house and functional for you to grab a lure when you need one
I wonder if y’all have ever considered writing a book about your off grid living experience in such a harsh environment. There are so many things I would be interested to know starting with what do your respective families think of your adventurous lifestyle?

Another fabulous video. Love watching Bo watching Bandit run laps! Our Catahoula could really speed around in her younger days. Incredible progress in 6 hours of machine work!
That jaw breaker is a weedless spoon. Made to run through grass and lilies. Also, the best pike lure is either a red/white spoon or a rapala shad rap. Medium to large sizes work best. P.s. just a guy who buys too much tackle.
That was pleasant to watch of all things, I love huge equipment and the sound of the dirt and root pulling up out of the ground is just fascinating to me I close my eyes and listen to all that ripping. I know that's weird, but nice job

When we cleared my property we burried the stumps and the tree tops. Just remember after they break down they will leave you a sink hole... If your out where about 18 inches or so down you have gravel and or a rock base... you can dig a large hole out where the tree stumps and tops can go, then use the gravel/rock as your road foundation. When Rudy did mine he just turned over the top 18 inches of soil and burried it and took out the next 5 feet of the hundreds and made a very stable rock drive and building pad for my cabin.

Smart...used to do that on the Skeena in Terrace BC in popular fishing areas during low water in the autumn...pick up a lot of lead sinkers too... good for the environment ...you two rock...love the videos... BB
maybe you can pile the stumps up along the driveway like a barrier. push down on it to pack it a little and it will break down into a mound. if you back fill against it when clearing and tidying the area it will serve as a low fence.

All the "Slaves to the grind" people would be super jelly of ya'll if they ever watched this video, because they'll never be able to have the luxury of just waking up in the morning and say "I feel like going fishing for lures today!" Lol Especially in these times that we are living in right now. God Bless the two of you and keep it up! At least they'll be able to live vicariously through you when they watch your vids. 😁
Mepps spinners use actual squirrel tail hair for the skirt. Mepps will compensate you for sending them squirrel tails, only if harvested for table fair though.
Check them out! Also nice job on cleaning up the waterway. 👍
Nice finds. Id be in heaven. Its beautiful on top of that.
I sincerely enjoy watching your videos. While waiting for new ones Ive gone back and watched old ones. I really enjoy the quite sounds like when you’re working in the garden or chopping food for canning. I’ve made cowboy candy using your recipe and love it! The views are stunning. Seems so peaceful and cozy to me. The two of you make a great couple. I hope to one day find someone I can share life with like the two of you. I was wondering it you plan to move onto the property you are clearing. Take care. God bless.

Wow; nice looking dirt to work with.
Smart...used to do that on the Skeena in Terrace BC in popular fishing areas during low water in the autumn...pick up a lot of lead sinkers too... good for the environment ...you two rock...love the videos... BB
I never heard of lure hunting. How fun! Like Easter egg hunting. A real service to wildlife, as well.
I pick up discarded hooks, lures, and weights all the time when fishing! Drives my husband crazy! 😂
maybe you can pile the stumps up along the driveway like a barrier. push down on it to pack it a little and it will break down into a mound. if you back fill against it when clearing and tidying the area it will serve as a low fence.
