The end of this video lingers on for the tenderness you have shown for each other. In all your hard work together there is no doubt much love for each other. However, your shown affection at the closing of this video, is a joy for all to keep alive. Proof, The greatest thing on earth is love. Keep safe. 🙏😍

"Screwed to the table", I needed a laugh. Eric, you make it sound so easy, ha. I vote to keep the twinkle lights, (do I get a vote🤔? I've watched every episode, some twice) they are soothing but then again the whole cabin is soothing and warm. Thanks for showing all three fur babies. If the twinkle lights must go, won't change a thing - still the best channel on TH-cam, consistently.

Have only seen the title. I am WAY TOO EXCITED about total strangers getting a new shower. Outdoor showers can be so beautiful and bathing outside is such an experience, I have always felt you two needed better but I knew there were simply many other priorities on the list ahead of it. One of my favorite shower episode outside was at my cabin in northern Wisconsin . It was -27°f. Shower platform was 2 steps from kitchen door. Then 6 steps to cherry red wood stove. As enjoyable as a sauna.

I am finally here having caught up after intensely binge watching from the very start over the past month and a bit - - have been ignoring new uploads until I caught up as I have watched in order. So this is the first time i get to watch a new upload just after it is uploaded and now I will comment as well! So good to catch up with your present time - but I am gonna miss watching 4 or more episodes a day! Y'all have been keeping me company on some dark and tough days in my life so thank you. I heard of your channel through "Our Portuguese Homestead". Love everything about your channel - thanks so much for the effort you put in and the way you do things. Love to you both from me in New Zealand.

My son is a Farmer, works 5/10hr full time, and is a logger. You need to make a logging shed for your mill with extra hang over for logs to sell. You will make your money back first year. Build a raft or sled to haul lumber in for your other cabin as well. The pros. far outway any cons. You can do flat top and bottom for log looking home on your other property. Sawdust alone can gain income as well as great firewood sales. What a great way to build a Batten Board barn for animals and great cold room for Fresh and canned food also increase meat supply for your family. You have the way to build your homestead into a solid business! Great going guys!✝️📖🕊💜🌹

When I had the cottage we built a sauna/shower building. It was a two part building, not very big, but usable all year round. When we wanted a shower we would fire up the sauna stove. The stove had saddle tanks that would also warm up the water. A small 12 volt RV pump was used to pump water to the shower head. It was so nice to have a dry warm place to sit and dry off after the shower in the middle of the winter. The sauna side was 7x4, big enough for an extra bed for guests.

My wife and I decided to live life our way. At 48 years of age we sold our house, furniture, surplus items and so on. Bought a small motor van and set off into the unknown. We had studied travel etc. for a couple of years and had a sort of plan. Over the next 20 odd years we travelled, firstly our own area, Europe, then across to Canada, America and just into Mexico. Back to Europe, from the North Cape in summer to Southern Spain in the winter and almost all countries in between. We earned our way by taking temporary work as we found it. Bar work, cafes, campsites. Cleaning places, toilets, gardening and so on. Lots of work for casual workers everywhere, no contracts, no holiday pay, no sick pay, dirty jobs no one else wanted mostly. We earned enough each summer to last through the winter. We went our own way and met and made many similar travellers who became good friends. Now at 80 years of age live a simple life in Spain, in a simple wooden cabin, No regrets at all. But looking at the way you two live and how happy you are, if we had our time again May even try your way . It looks so good and you are together and happy . Like us, no him and her, no me and you, just US. Good luck to you, carry on enjoying your life.

Those logs looked really good why don't you cut them into beams and planks for future building supplies? A deluxe luxury outhouse? Another high tunnel? If you haven't noticed I'm free and easy with your time and labor. I do enjoy your projects that storage building out back was so cool to watch and every time it's in a scene I'm checking it out. I found objects on the OTHER SIDE of the room after the earthquake so I am sure that those glass jars and other breakable/sharp objects are not just going to stay where they put them .And those poor dogs and cats running in those after quake sharp debris! I ant even think about that-VERY frustrating.

Whether you are gardening, cooking, building, or at the little cabin, I find myself very drawn to every video - and it puts me at such ease when I’m done watching! Your approach to everything you do is very intentional and calm, even during the hiccups. Seeing you problem solve in a way that’s thoughtful is very inspiring!

    Few things:
1 I love your dogs, they are hilarious! One moment they have this regal look, looking down on the plebeian, next they look like they are missing a few braincells ;-)
2 What are you doing with your sawdust? will you throw it on your compost or maybe use it to grow your own mushrooms? I mean add some earth, add spores and compress into blocks leave them in a darkish moist place and you're set!
3 It still amazes me every vid I watch, the diversity of food you have and grow in such a cold climate it is truly astonishing.
4 you really must love each other living in such small quarters with hardly and place to escape and a boys or girls night out is , I doubt, not an option.
5 Am impressed and a little jealous but in a good way

    • @Bramble20322

I'm not sure if the pine sap will compost decently, it may screw up the soil composition.
Mushrooms are an option, but without sterilizing the sawdust, i dont think you'd get decent results, bad fungus and bacteria usually screw over the good spores.

I ADORE watching you guys. I like how you guys had a little "scripted moment" of Eric suggesting to build a shower. It was so adorable and you pulled it off to where it wasn't chresy. I look forward to your vids. Quality is great and you always have something useful to share. I particularly like the style you film. Minimal music drowning out the scene and just letting us hear the sounds of the homestead. Some folks just do a timelapse and blast horrible music over it. I prefer how you edit in the important parts and keep it natural.
Both of Eric's index finger nails are bruised. Did he whack hinself with a hammer? Lol. Been there before! Particularly with those staple things he's trying to hammer in. Gets me every time.

Okay Ariel with the expert clean lumber lines. I see you girl! You’re working that machine like a pro. Slow and steady makes the cleanest cut, you can’t fuse too much force and rush it either or else you can have a lot of splinters but I have to say I’m really impressed by how quick you got it down. Go Ariel!!
